I really wished this video focused more on other parts of British colonialism like the Opium wars and the British exploitation of China in general. It could've also included the British exploitation of the Maori people and also its exploitation of its own people like in the Eureka Rebellion. Maybe you could make a video on the Asian and Oceanic part of the empire and include all of these plus the Great game and the British exploitation of Persia and the Middle east as well.

They were worried that the introduction of communism would spread out from Vietnam into surrounding East Asian countries such as Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, and even threaten U.S holdings in the Philippines. After China fell to the communist, there was a serious threat of the entire Asian continent becoming ideologically opposed to the West. It was a major threat that's understood better now but many people didn't understand it back then and frankly, there wasn't much reason to go to Vietnam looking back. I wouldn't have called it futile as America probably would have won eventually(50,000 US Kia vs 500,000 VC Kia). But it was attritional and there wasn't much to gain and most importantly, it was very unpopular back home.
