Don't be Scared (Erase Your Fear of Kilimanjaro)
This happens all the time. You’re thinking about climbing Kilimanjaro. You tell a few coworkers, family members and friends about your outdoor ambitions. They say they’re interested too, so you’re thrilled. Before you know it, you have a list of a dozen or more people who want to form a large group to climb Kilimanjaro. It’s going to be epic.
Then, as the planning progresses, the excitement fades. The numbers begin to dwindle. One by one people drop out, for one reason or another. And when it’s time to firm up the dates and put a deposit down, the actual participants are revealed. What was once a hefty group of excited adventurers is now just a fraction of the original size.
Why is it that so many people who were initially interested ultimately don’t go through with it?
In this video, I’ll discuss the common fears and objections to climbing Kilimanjaro and how to overcome them. In other words, how to go from maybe and i don’t know, to yes.

    • @Ultimate-Kilimanjaro
      @Ultimate-Kilimanjaro Před 18 dny

      The difficulty rating of 7/10 is from the perspective of a typical person doing physical things that are accessible to the general public (like running a marathon). However, in the realm of mountaineering, climbing Kilimanjaro is pretty basic. We would rate a supported Kilimanjaro climb a 1/10, an unsupported Kilimanjaro climb a 3/10, and a Denali expedition a 10/10.

    Don’t agree with your price and cost message. Costs of Kili climb is approximately half of what you said. For people coming from Europe, total costs with the plane ticket are some 3500$ (safari included). Sure there are more expensive options (i have seen these during my stay in Tanzania) as with any travel. Thats up to the traveler

    • @Ultimate-Kilimanjaro
      @Ultimate-Kilimanjaro Před 18 dny

      Most of our clients are from North America. From the USA, the flight alone ranges from $1500-$2500. Obtaining the required gear can easily cost a couple thousand dollars more. Add visa, travel insurance, tips, plus the land cost of the trip and $5,000 to $8,000 is absolutely a reasonable cost once everything is accounted for.

    Despite these factors it's still worth going because it really is an experience you will never forget, no matter what happens. The mountain will always be there so not summiting isn't the end of the world. And the risk on this mountain is very low, it's not as remote as mountain ranges like the Himalayas so if you get really sick or break something, you will be rescued
