Songscape: Green River with BEEBE "Make Me Light"
MAKE ME LIGHT was inspired by the Green River, life blood of the Flaming Gorge Reservoir in Utah and Dinosaur National Monument. In this first ever river-focused Songscape, BEEBE rafted the Green River from Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area (US Forest Service), through the John Jarvie Ranch (Bureau of Land Management), down to Brown’s Park National Wildlife Refuge (US Fish & Wildlife Service). They concluded the retreat exploring the fossils and human history of Dinosaur National Monument (National Parks Service).
The project was a collaborative effort involving partners from all over the country. Sustain coordinated BEEBE, the USFS, USFWS, BLM and the NPS to get the creative team out for their Songscape retreat in July 2021. Public lands face serious threats - privatization, underfunding, and climate change. This Songscape project uses a musical and visual introduction to our public lands to build critical public support for their continued protection. Make Me Light’s’ introspective lyrics and dreamy production will drive home the message that public lands, like those surrounding the Green River, are for all Americans to discover, take care of, and enjoy.
100% of Online sales of Make Me Light support Sustain and a special project by the Intermountain Natural History Association(Non-profit partner of Dinosaur National Monument) to update the roadside informational signs at Dinosaur National Monument to more accurately reflect the history and traditional use of these lands by Native Americans
American Public Lands have challenging and complex history, shaped by the dispossession of Native Lands and the forcible removal of Indigenous Peoples.
We acknowledge that the area now occupied by Dinosaur National Monument, Brown's Park, and Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area are the ancestral homelands of the Ute, Eastern Shoshone, and Shoshone-Bannock Nations.

Beautiful footage and beautiful song
I'm so lucky
good video
Love, LOVE this! Thank you Ben and all who work so hard for this precious environment ❣
Ben Sollee is an amazing artist. Have always loved his stuff.
Great commentary.
Living close to Great Bay Blvd. with Rutgers Field Station at its end; volunteering at The Tuckerton Seaport and Baymen's Museum, on Tuckerton Creek, that runs alongside the boulevard, out to Great Bay; sharing pot luck and memorable music at Folk Across the Street's unique local venue--and now, listening to this eloquent tribute to a protected portion of an estuarine environment becoming more valuable as "progress" encroaches, has put a glow around an otherwise gray day. Thanks to all who had anything and everything to do with this.
Your eloquent spirit brightens all our horizons
Enjoyed that!
Come visit the Forsythe Refuge sometime!
@@rolandhagan9769 I’d love to do that one day!

Pure Beauty
Mr. Youngblood, I enjoyed this so much, but can't make out all of lyrics. Would it be possible to print them? I would hope that something so beautiful would touch many hearts, but I fear most look right past. I do feel that all of this was created, not some cosmic accident that just happened to be benefit us. I think that man was formed from the Earth, as it can give us such happiness and no two days are the same. Always something to " entertain " us. What's around us can be rough, but for those who focus on the world around us and it's variety, can at least be anchored to something bigger than us. Thank you . Enjoy some more!!
Like a flood you come and go...you're south of Idaho Where your river starts to flow...unsure I'll ever know Flood come and go...I'm just north of New Mexico some things I'll never know
Conner Youngblood Thank you so much. It's a beautiful piece of music only shadowed by the beautiful surroundings in the video. I need to get out more. I find myself doing this. Enjoying the scenes around me. But, they don't go farther than my back yard. Except maybe if I go for a walk. Thank you for the lyrics. And of course the video.
wow, that is absolutely lovely on so many levels-the visuals are sublime, the orchestration just right-light and hypnotic, his voice, and of course the bird sounds. great job. definitely achieved an immersive experience. Manage
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed Conner's wildlife-refuge inspired song!
