Why 4 instead of 2 inch spacing from wall

@begrateful8934 thank you for the comment. On the Govee website site it’s mentioned 2-4” and that’s we presented to the home owner and homeowner presented to HOA. HOA contract agreement when placing permanent lighting, it either needs to be installed at the fascia or centred of the soffits. I was not shooting for fascia so center it was. I have to do what is directed or the client may face a fine. Not all HOAs are that specific or strict. Not all permanent lighting contractors pay attention to HOA needs. Also, down on the lower level, there were rectangular soffit vents that were 1 1/2” in so that wouldn’t work regardless. 31/2-4” cleared them so we definitely just kept everything the same throughout the install

You are correct about the 6000k vs 4000K. The reason that I’m not comparing pros with elites is that’s what is on my home currently. I do have strands from the pros but I do not have a power supply and controller to compare those. I think for the Kelvins it has, either version is bright regardless. Elites you can’t easily splice like the pros. I will recommend the pros as an installer and because of their slick look on the nicer homes. Pros warranty’s if you splice vs elites probably not but it’s Costco🤷‍♂️, you can take anything back lol. Elites 150ft $329, pros 150ft $549. Thanks for watching

Then I know I value my time and my work so I tell them and some just tell me, do the best you can to make it better than the average homeowner would do it and that’s what we do. Do an install 5x better but still make them happy.Your talking about raceway channel to cover up wires correct?

I had the regular one at the front of the house and now replaced them with the elite and put the others on the back side. However on the white it seems like the regular is brighter. Is that correct or am i doing something wrong? Thanks for the video. Bought the elite because of it.

On the site it says you can’t cut non pros(H705 A,B & C) but people have taken that into consideration and not done it only because they don’t want to loose their warranty. Can it be done, yes absolutely on both versions. It will still work if you properly bring them back together or understand voltage drop for the length you trying to jump. Personally, we chose to make all the factory connections end up at our jumps so there is less splicing and more work for us

I hope I’m understanding the question. With the pros, you can splice without voiding the warranty. Pros come with pro connectors and the Elites do not. Since they don’t include the pro splice connector it is not splice-able according to Govee. Have I splice the non pros, yes. Did it work, yes it did. They say that so they don’t have to cover your errors. Even if you were to get a hold of the pro splice connectors, they won’t work because like I mentioned in the video, Elites are are exclusive and in their own category because the connectors are swapped from the other versions

@@noexistence1 advanced is no longer in the same place under color. It used to be next to segmented but they have moved that to finger sketch in its own tab. I have aluminum soffits and I was thinking of maybe getting a board, mounting the lights to the board and mounting the board to the soffits (I assume there are rafters overhanging under the soffits I can mount to. I was looking at cable tracks but at $18USD each for 220inches, I’d need to spend $144USD ($200CAD) just to cover the 150ft.

@noexistence1 if you want it on a track, then definitely have to factor in the price but it can all be done by using self tappers or pointed screws for metal depending what gauge is that soffit. You can use 3D mounts for Govee lights that have screw holes. Screws would need to be #6-#8 with 3/4” long with painted heads

@@jbsdiytv I did order 3D printed mounts off ebay (for the H705C which sounds like the H805 is the same design, different node). Did you have any issues keeping the cable flat/clean looking?

@noexistence1 they are the same size. With the non pros, the wire is always tricky to straighten out. What I always do is lay the strands out in the sun before installing them so when I go to install them, the wire has been straightened out and if anything, when I give it a little tug on it, I anchor it and it stays firm

Ultimately place the next controller and power adapter at the end of the last strand in the first system so it looks like one solid system. Or separate the controllers on top or bottom but work the same direction so one isn’t left and the other right. Same direction

@@AnthonyRusso yes sir. Wish they were better but there is a reason for what Govee does. Like the swap of the factory connections was smart. They don’t want you to use other products for this version because of liability, and for the cause of making extra sales. They were on top of that possibility of others thinking to do just that. They are pretty awesome and for everyone that is familiar with their actual pricing for outdoors lights, this is affordable for what it offers

So they come in white only and I mean like the pro’s white or black? What if you needed two sets for an install more than 150 feet? Can you get extra modules from Govee for the Elite? @bpage6636 Hope you are doing well. Long time no hear from you. Yes I understand your question. You can buy two of these kits and group them in the app to work as one system. These Costco Govee Elites are an exclusive product only and it’s literally in its own category like I mentioned in the video. The connections have been swamped and so that means any of the other versions will not work on this model. The LED Module Driver from the pros you speak of is used for 150ft-200ft. You won’t be able to use it on the elites because again, the connections are backwards. Govee knew people would do this and try and use other products for pros and non pros and the elites. @jdz3169 I got these on July 17th, 2024. Asked management when they were stocked and they said same day. I check 3 other Costcos north of San Antonio and they all had them as well. $329 even

My wife and I were thinking of getting a permanent light setup for a little while now, but the RGBICs didn't have warm white and the Pro was just so expensive. But now that these Elites seem to have RGBIC and a Warm LED, and has the 108 light density (with 40lm each) for a $399CAD price point, plus Costco Return Policy...we are going to make the leap. So any help you can offer in terms of info is really appreciated! I definitely want to get these on the house before winter. My goal is to use them as everyday warm downlights and then mix in holiday colour for Halloween, Xmas, etc

@noexistence1 this is definitely an upgrade from the non pros and it does have the warm and cool white in them. I feel pros have more LEDs to cover the pure scope of white. Just looks much more cleaner. Yes, to what your doing this for is a plus and I recommend these over the non pros. Just can say that over the pros as an installer since those are covered through warranty if spliced and I like all the whites in those. I’ll have a video out shortly on these. You’ll like them, just not the mounts that come with them. @BearLightStudios has professional track you can buy for them. Just factor that in the price though

When it comes time to paint, they sale stickers on Amazon that are 7/8” diameter to fit on the lens. Not everyone is to worry about it, and I always ask them before install starts. Some have HOA that it’s written it needs to be on a track and color match so I get that so I accommodate them. Solely it’s the owners liability if it’s written and mentioned in the invoice. But it can be painted after. Yes the best track is @BearLightStudios

No, the power adapter and controller need to be directionally to properly perform like they should. Each end has a male connection and female connection. The female connection is the start of the strand. The controller where the lights get hooked up is a male connection with 3 prongs

If one bulb goes out you can splice the product with a new bulb. That is an option but why do that when Govee backs their products with warranties and they have exceptional customer service. All you will have to do is go into the Govee app and report an issue for a replacement

No they are not. This is a Govee DIY product. Trim light uses pixels, others use pucks lights that snap into a track. Most of those companies charge 5-7k for 100ft install. We are just meticulous with all our installs and we install above the manufacturer’s recommendations to last longer

Someone was having the same issue on my facebook Govee group. With the app updates, some firmware isn’t updated so if you have an iPhone, offload the app and bring it back. If that doesn’t work for you then delete the app and reinstall it. That should fix it. Don’t worry, deleting the app isn’t deleting your devices, just sign back in and it will all be there. Hope this helps you.

When you search for a user diy scene, their profile will have a star at the bottom right corner. Hit that and that star will light up orange.

That means you have either Alexa hunches on and thinks you sleep and left them on or you have a schedule that is running.
