Bravo James Johnston! Well done video and an outstanding job on the exhibit. We are happy to see that you are as entertaining as we remember. Best regards, George
Great exhibit
I live here and I love what franklin has done to this town…it is quite lovely walking in the heart of Franklin!
Thank you for explaining this so well. While no one enjoys having to pay more money in fees or taxes, the Town really needs the additional funding to pay for necessary maintenance & infrastructure improvements. It should also relieve some pressure on the Town's budget, as explained at 0:10.
Thank you for explaining this new tax. My property taxes increased this year by 20% yet we are still having this additional increase. I think the town should look at balancing our budget rather than saying that families like mine that watch our budget and made sacrifices to buy our house by are not paying our fare share.
Thank you for your feedback! To clarify, under the previous funding structure through the general fund, there are a variety of tax exempt organizations that may qualify for an exemption from property taxes, such as churches, schools or cultural facilities. Typically, these organizations have large parking lots or facilities bigger than the average residential home that have a high amount of impervious surface. By switching to a Stormwater Utility Fee, these organizations will pay their fair share for their use of stormwater services, whereas they were exempt prior. By restructuring the funding of stormwater services, it will free up funds in the town budget for other much needed improvements.
Great job Lily!
So glad that gem of open space was rescued from being a 50 house development!
Thanks for the upload My ex Boss is from Franklin.
I don't understand- who am I paying and how does Nexamp get paid? Does Nexamp eat the cost of panels knowing it will be paid over time? Do I have to pay Nexamp anything or do I just pay my energy bill like normal?
I don't even think Nexamp can answer that question.
I moved here in March 1st. And I found this beautiful library!! I'm so happy. And its so close to my house. !!
I really enjoyed this. It brought me back to Franklin High School back in the 70’s. Glad to see JJ looking and sounding so well! One of the greatest teachers ever.
Beautiful gallery. I'm so impressed that Jim arranged this in his mothers memory. The presentation was epic, I always enjoy listening to Jim speak when he's in his element.
Nice job cousin jimmy. Can’t wait to take a visit when I can back up to Massachusetts.
Great job Jim! You’re still one of my all time favorite teachers. You made history fun:)... I’m proud to call you my cousin .
I love this video... My cousin Jimmy
Great exhibit Jim! This is such a great honor to Aunt Clara's memory, she would be so pleased!
Aunt Clara would have been so pleased to have share all these beautiful items with the public. Well done.
A huge THANK YOU to Mary Olsson and the rest of the Franklin Historical Commission for working with Mr. Johnston to secure these installations!
