LOVE! Your table came out beautiful! So, I bought a kitchen table that I didn't know before I stripped it had MANY knots. I knew they would eventually bleed through and turn the top coat yellow. So, I read that sealing it with Shellac will illuminate the yellowing. I bought interior eggshell enamel paint and primer. to put on the top of the table. It is a kitchen table that will be used a lot. I know they will use placemats but I would like to put a matt finish top coat on. What are your thoughts?

You can Paint matting in the pictures you purchased. I found a lady on YT that inspired me to try it. Not a runny, watery paint though ❤ let us know if you try it. That way all of the matting will be the same color in that set

Loved that lamp! I could see it all cleaned & polished up. I would probably change the shade out to modernize it ❤ Also, I would thrift a lot too but I dont have a storage space for my extra decor 😔

You found some lovely finds. I love the black and white picture in the black frame that you painted and the wooden items. I thought you would pick up what looked like the Indian brass caddy thingy. The lid was carved and the container had a lid. I would have bought that. Love your brass candle holders. You have a good eye. What really made me angry to see is all the items in the shop being written on in black permanent marker which you cannot wash off on many things. If I spend my precious money on something, I do not want it to be damaged on purpose by the thrift shop or any shop. Sorry, that was a mini rant. Lol. Otherwise great finds. The teak platter looks beautiful. I would paint the green pot in white chalk paint, then paint a beige colour in chalk paint over the white, then wipe it bacj to expose some white in the details. Then use white antiquing wax. Hope that makes sense. Enjoy. 🎉

Have you tried rubbing alcohol to remove the marker? I agree with you about the increase in prices. I just went to the Hollywood locations today, and I also agree with the Amer Tft store being way too disorganized.

So beautiful., we had these , alot of them in Cape Town, they go for high prices in England specifically, they are airlooms because tyou cant find auch craftsmanship and resources like this anymore, they are equestrian and renissance era 'antiquities' older generation of art qorm thats span about 100 to 250 years back., glass, sea o?products, brass, oak wood that been treated***, we love these type of items in Africa .....

I’ve also seen the item you described as a toothpick holder was used as cigarette holders for an after dinner smoke …( definitely from another era 😂) it would look cute with those after dinner mint chocolate sticks too.
