Bambu Support for PLA Material - Is it actually any good?
In my last video I wasn't very impressed with PLA Support Material, but after a few comments instructing me of how it's supposed to be printed, I decided to give it another chance. So here's how it went.

Thanks for the great video! Very clear and easy to follow. One question: how do i remove the tiny "wire mesh" looking squares and rectangles from my old frame? The new frame doesn’t have them. I assume they're contacts of some kind. Heat and alcohol on these too? Thanks.
Thanks for sharing this video. I have the exact same printer configuration as you, and keep getting this error message in Fluidd... Source contains parsing errors: '/usr/data/printer_data/config/printer.cfg' [line 153]: 'bl_touch ' I'm new to anything Klipper related. I configured the file exactly as you've shared. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. MainSail
I already had some 3D printers. Just printing some little statues or toys will be work out great on almost all 3D printers these days. But printing out verry precise and tight fitting parts seems to be a challenge. Tweaking one thing, eventually results in other "problems". Or it seems to be an endless search in calibration. My last printer was a multicolor printer from Geetech, well this was a total nightmare to calibrate. I've ordered myself the P1S with AMS a few days back, and the Panda Touch is on it's way too. Maybe I will just buy another one when it suits me. Prices are acceptable with the current sale now.
Thanks for this.
What temperature are you heating the phone up to to remove the battery? Thank you!
I let it sit on the heating mat for about 3 minutes at 50C, then a couple drops of alcohol and the adhesive turns to butter for easy removal!
Just seeing this shit gives me Antiety, don't just Replace it from the Front instead of Unscrewing all those Bolts in the back
How much would it cost to fix it
Most shops seem to do this for between $150-$200. It’s an expensive in depth repair, but still cheaper than a whole new Xbox, and it’s usually stronger than factory after it’s repaired.
The phone would be easy to just buy again for $80 vs 30 for a screen. Wtf
It sure would, but what if you need to get your data off the old one?
Can you show all the ribbon connections and how to reconnect them? I removed one and don't remember where it goes entirely
I loved the lg stylo phones! I have a five and a six. The screen on the six is shot (my daughter dropped it on ceramic tile) my five quit charging and that’s all that’s wrong with it. Would the charging port from the 6 fit the 5? Or should I just get a new screen and whatever that other thing is called behind the screen and change it out? As I said that’s the only problem and I want to fix it because I want to use it for streaming ❤
Sadly the parts aren’t compatible. But the good news is that LG parts are unbelievably cheap and available! You can get both the replacement screen for your 6 and the charging assembly for your 5 for less than $40!
Thank you for the great video!😊 Btw, my phone did not have any brick antenna, very strange.
Depends on your carrier! Verizon uses the larger UW antennas
If I put a taptic engine in an A14 would it work? I think the old coin style ones use DC but do taptic ones switch on and off real fast for the signal? Is there some sort of component I can add to do this? 😂
You can add it, it’ll take some carving to make it fit in the frame of your phone. But also your phone won’t really know how to utilize it best since it would still expect a coin style to be connected, and would still send those signals. It would probably work, though would feel about the same as the original one.
Hi, I want to know if I use heat to remove the glue from the screen, will it affect my lcd display? I heard from my friend that a repair shop fixed her ipad screen and her lcd display now have this crease looking paper like display. Is it the repair shop mistake or it is okay to use it?
Shop mistake, happens when you overheat the front or let it sit too long without checking it. Getting it “pretty warm” and then using isopropyl and a razor will get it open without risking the LCD
@@TapticDigital The shop said that what had happened to the lcd display depends on the luck of the ipad owners. I dont know if the shop lied or not. But thank you so much for your reply. It is very helpful. 💖
Thanks I was looking for this very repair to see if it'd be worth it
100% worth it, the parts are dirt cheap and the nostalgia is priceless
@TapticDigital I like your videos btw as someone who resells video games I got into electrical engineering and now repairing and soldering things like this. I totally thought the capacitors would damage this more for some reason
I was sceptical after your video, but after trying it i need to give it to you, this crap is absolute junk and should not be used. I rather have a little worse surface finish than trying to remove this white junk.
Thanks for this video, it gave me some ideas what to expect when I needed to also unblock mine which was actually the exact same problem. I was not sure whether when I opened it, it would be benign, or whether a bunch of spring loaded mechanisms would pop out and I would destroy my printer :/ This helped a lot, cheers!
Glad to hear it! I felt the same way opening it, there were several shots I didn’t include of me very carefully trying to separate it and look inside to make sure I wasn’t about to launch springs into the abyss!
Great video and great explanation 🎉 so detailed and to the point. Thank you

3 months ago i dropped my phone in saltwater and was damaged completely when i went to repair to to a shop, is there anyway that i can recover my files and transfer it to other devices?
You’ll need to send it to a speciality data recovery center like iPad Rehab, it won’t be cheap but their success rate is ridiculously high compared to anywhere else.
have you updated the helper script via the installer? I did it and now the installer command will not work. Thanks for all the help!
Bambu labs. Kicking the ludicrously over priced Prusa and Ultimaker primitive rubbish into touch. Love'em. I own three now. No looking back once you use one!
After seeing this video, I can confidently say I will be buying a PlayStation five as there is no way I can do this myself lol. Thank you for the great video.
Definitely not for the faint of heart when it comes to soldering! You can still get it repaired at a lot of shops for around $100, but I will say the PS5 plays reeaaally nice too
pulling the board out is stressful 😅 the thermal paste on my ps4s cpu is a bit messed up, any tutorial on replacing it?
Pretty much just wipe it all out with isopropyl alcohol and dollop a fresh drop on the center! I’d follow a tutorial for a desktop PC to get an idea of how much is needed
My introduction to the world of 3D Printing was the P1P. It was a complete 'plug n play' experience. The largest learning-curve is routine maintenance. (Thank God for YT) I have had this machine for over a year and it has been pretty much flawless. Customer support has been superb and replacement parts & upgrades are reasonably priced. Yes, it is proprietary, but it has to be for the preservation of performance. I have found that placing it upon concrete block on the ground eliminates the majority of noise, for a bedroom setting. The aesthetics are amazing and highly customizable to one's personality. Over-all, this has been one of the most enjoyable and satisfying purchases ever. For someone new to 3D printing and on a budget, I would highly recommend the A1-Minni, for testing the water. Otherwise, the P1S is surely to please and is very capable machine. FYI: If the primary use is for prototyping , printing tools, etc, having multi-colored capability may not even be necessary.
At first I debated if I wanted the AMS or not, as most of my multi colored prints were just simple layer changes up to this point. But once I saw something that was printed with multiple colors on a single layer, I was hooked. It’s a very capable machine, and fantastic for rapid prototyping.
Thank you. I have never had a situation where the dump glue tabs located under the battery came out effortlessly.
When you get one on the older iPhones like a 6 or 6S and they come out in one long squeaky pull, it’s like heaven. If they rip, straight to hell.
Tried this fix today didn't work out for me threw in in the trash going to buy a new one
i need to replace my screen an head phone jack
I am going through the same learning pains right now. PLA support works... but only marginally better than just printing in all PLA with all the issues you're pointing out now. I'm going to go place PETG order now.. begrudgingly. Nice video, thanks for sharing your findings.
Despite what I said in the video, I still haven’t full given up. But I am quite disappointed each time I try.
@@TapticDigital Same here haha. I'm working on a model that has several delicate features that are also overhangs (a non-ideal combo) and even manually setting the support locations to minimize the amount of contact the features are breaking off so I started to investigate a different support methods. The story seems pretty consistent across all avenues though that PETG is worth a shot so I'm going to try it out this weekend hopefully when my PETG spool arrives. I can share my results here for posterity. I think PLA support has its applications, but if you are doing anything with delicate features or considerable overhangs it appears that PETG may be a better (and seemingly cheaper) solution.
What size of T tool to open back of PS4 because T10 didn’t fit. Thanks
Almost definitely a T9 or T10
Woww so many 😂😂😂
That’s cool also first
Thank you I will definitely purchase a new screen I have the piece but without a screen crazy Ik and also the blue piece you feed the orange string into isn’t on mine anymore idk if I lost it ???
Do you have to replace the digitizer if only the glass is broken? Or can I just replace the glass and only the glass
The digitizer is actually fused into the glass, they are one piece, one part. The LCD on the other hand is not, and doesn’t need to be replaced if it’s still working and undamaged.
@@TapticDigital yeah that’s what I meant! lol thanks!
Is the Bambu support for pla supposed to be dissolved in water or is that something else
Nope! I actually tested it in water as well as alcohol, just to rule it out. It does make it separate from PLA easier, but where it does stick it stays quite firm
@@TapticDigital good to know. I saw this filament in my box and I always thought it might be useless. Now I know! Good video
@@TapticDigital Rookie mistake, you have to drink the alcohol to suppress the feelings from the bad support material.
Can someone confirm that the latest official Nebula Pad firmware allows configuration of e-steps / rotation_distance? And also that once upgraded it cannot be downgraded to the rooted version? Thanks
Thank you, had the same issue with stuck pla
I had my screen changed yesterday and now there’s a blue like color on screen. Is there anything that can be done to restore the color?
Like tinted blue where it should be white? Whoever repaired it may not have copied the true tone feature. Go to Settings, Display & Brightness, and just below the brightness slider it should say TrueTone. If not, they didn’t copy it.

Hi do you informaion on root for ender 3 v3 se with nebula pad please
Not sure, I don’t have that printer so I haven’t looked for it. Look into D3vil Designs discord.
hello, i replaced just the screen (on the old frame), but the new screen won't 'snap' to the frame, and would fall out - do you have an idea as to what i'd have done wrong?
Did you replace just the glass and LCD of it or did you use a screen already fused to a frame? When you install a display only without the frame it won’t snap in, it’s glued in just like the original
@@TapticDigital o... right, i bought the display only. do i need to get the frame separate as well then?
Any idea why the resolution would be locked to 640x480 after this repair?
Can be a loose or bridged pin, or the encoder chip dying
I'm thinking about this as my next upgrade. I have the sprite pro and dual z axis installed with a CR touch. Do you have a discord or anything for support if and when I get the Nebula kit?
I don’t use discord much to be honest, I’d recommend checking out Reddit for some good groups, over on r/fixmyprint or r/creality usually
@@TapticDigital ok thank you! i appreciate the reply :)
Hello, I'm using the S21 I bought in Korea, but the wide-angle camera seems to be broken, so the camera doesn't work at all. So I'm trying to buy one with the wide-angle camera and telephoto from Ali, but I'm using Exynos now, and the one with telephoto and wide-angle, does the camera work well even if I use Snapdragon? Snapdragon is much cheaper, so I'm going to buy it..
I’m fairly sure they are not compatible, I may be wrong but typically parts like the cameras or charging boards are specific to “US” or “International” and won’t work with each other.
Currently looking at a cracked screen, but I got a new one coming in the mail this weekend. Hope this video helps me out.
I hope it does too! Did you order just the display and glass, or the one with a frame?
@@TapticDigital One with the frame.
I am searching but i don't find a kit with g-sensor, they only promotion camera and pad
Very interesting, I wonder if they are changing what’s included in the box. For what it’s worth I don’t know that the G sensor does much, especially if you install custom firmware, it doesn’t seem to use it from what I understood.
Congratulations on this video! Please tell me where the bluetooth module on that board is located!? Thank you very much!😊
I have an multimeter and I opened an LG Cookie, iPhone 4S and Samsung Galaxy S3. When I appplied at the contacts, I felt small vibration
Depending on which mode your meter is in it can apply a small amount of current to whatever it touches, this would probably cause the motor to give one tiny little shake as it doesn’t take a lot of voltage to move them.
is the true tone still intact btw?
JerryRig much?
Not often, but when I do jerryrig it scratches at a level 6
