This channel is all about my rambles here in western Colorado, where I live and sometimes from anywhere else I might wander. At nearly 70 years young, I'm so thankful I can still hike these beautiful mountains. Hiking and photography are my favorite things to do. If I can only capture God's creation in a way that glorifies Him, I'll be happy. He's the true artist - I'm just a copier. All glory belongs to my savior Jesus - it's all about Him!
Little Cimarron During High Runoff...June 7, 2024
I don't remember what the lady was doing, but she told me to go hiking. So, what's a feller to do....go hiking. I knew it might be a bit early to get to where I wanted to hike and I was right. I dodged a few snowbanks that were a bit sketchy to get around. But, then I came to avalanche debris covering the road. I could have probably pulled most of the small trees out of the way, but packed avalanche snow is another story. It was deep enough that I didn't want to risk it by myself. So, plan B was to just check out the high runoff and when I was tired of that head up on High Mesa. It was just dandy up there. On the way down I ran into a bachelor herd of bull elk. All in all, a grand day in God's creation.

We rambled all over the mountains on this day. What great wonders of God's creation we saw....mountains, critters, flowers. It was a very windy day so the video clips are very noisy. Dallas Trail Hike June 24, 2024

The lady and I took a mountain hike to escape the heat. It was even quite warm up there. We only did around 4.5 miles as the clouds were building and we had taken our time savoring every minute. Too many people are in such a hurry hiking - I was like that once too. Slow down and enjoy it all...listen to the birds, the tiny streams, the rivers, the bees on the flowers. Sanborn ATV Ride May 30, 2024

The lady and I got out for an ATV ride on this day. It turned out to be quite windy, but it was still good. We went to an old cow camp that is now owned by the Forest Service. Surprisingly the old water hand pump still works. The buildings have been mostly infested with critters and bugs. We saw several small muley bucks lounging in the shade out of the heat.
Middle Fork June 12, 2024

This was an outing with my buddy Allen. We did a bit of fishing (caught one tiger trout) and then wandered up the middle fork. At the waterfall, some disrespectful rock climbers had stuffed artificial flowers all over in the rock wall. As I always say - only trashy people trash the great outdoors! This is not a flashy San Juan hike. It's on the mostly quiet Uncompahgre. It's the solitude and birds and peace that draw me here. The lady and I decided to escape the heat and stretch the legs. This is a locked gate road, used for access to private land and logging. I've hiked on it many times. It's a very easy walk. We only went about 4.5 miles and turned around due to hearing thunder coming over the mountain. We got dumped on for about 15 minutes....it just added to the adventure. Then the sky cleared. It was a fun day ...
Trees That Grow In Rocks

We've been waiting, waiting and waiting some more to see some elk calves. Finally they are here. We watched the herd for 20 minutes or so. Then the lead cow barked and off they went. I don't know what disturbed her as our presence in our truck hadn't bothered them for quite a while. But, they soon came back out of the trees and started grazing again. beautiful mountain and wildlife scenery
First of all, I like to make a comment about the scene at 4.04. I'm always fascinated when I see horizontal lines in a rock face. It tells me that a long time ago this rock must have been vertical. OK enough of that ha ha. I've never seen a bluebird and didn't realize they are so beautiful. I see all the muieys still in their winter coats and the moose still with little antlers. Bob, you certainly hit the jackpot with these moose who seem to be OK with your presence. Wonderful video, Bob. Thanks and God bless. Joan

Beautiful photos. I loved the narration. You have a voice for it and should do that more often. Great job as always and you could never bore us. God's creation always gives me comfort and peace. I think that's why I love my job so much, working outside at the park where I live. Always something to see. It's hard work, but I do love it.

"Spring has sprung, the grass is riz, I don't know where the boidies is: I hope you'll forgive me. I couldn't help thinking of those words. But seriously, I won't say Spring is my favorite season, because it's really Autumn that always delights me, but I have to admit Spring comes in second best. As usual, I always love seeing those snow clad mountains and the crocus and other flowers but you must suspect I'm always enchanted by the animals that God has seen fit to live on this earth with us, so thank you for a lovely video. I absolutely love crocus'! They were my mom's favorite and one of my cousin's favorites too. My cousin was a photographer and I have a picture she took of a prairie crocus hanging on the wall in my office. Both are passed on now. Awesome video Bob! Loved the narrating!
