The only reason to get a ZimaBoard is to have Windows compatibility. An OP5+ is a superior performing machine so if you're gonna use Linux, you might as well get one of those. Real GPIO pins, uses half the power and has a 2280 slot where you can install a 5x SATA adapter so you can build it out into a 4 drive NAS. We can't all afford to buy a pair of brand new Iron Wolf 22TB drives, which is the market segment intel SBCs are marketed to. I will concede that the ZimaBoard is easier to use but the people who buy these kinds of devices typically don't benefit much from that feature because they are people who can deal with a more temperamental piece of hardware with incomplete software support. You're suggesting this is useful for people who are probably just going to go with a service for their home automation or use cloud storage instead of building a NAS. How much did they pay you to make this video?

I bought a bad video card from ALI-Express. It was cheap, but since it doesn't work it was a bad buy.

Calling the i5 crap is whack, it was a really solid CPU and can still handle a lot of games today fine. In reality, CPUs haven't been the bottleneck for games for a long time unless you're trying to play in super high resolutions.

I prioritised a small and light laptop so decided to leave out the GPU. Then I got a meta quest and realised I couldn’t run any PCVR 😢. So for me this is an acceptable alternative IF it’s cheap enough.

If you are just playing free Steam games and watching Netflix, even a $500 pc is more than enough. You see questions about building super gaming rigs to play CSGO everywhere on the internet from people who don't know anything about PC's.

In defense of the folks you mentioned in the beginning - it's not unreasonable to assume excess heat from the exhaust vent might be indicative of *really* excess heat from the components.

The best cod on handheld that’s playable straight from store is infinite warfare, the graphics are incredible on deck, can do 90 or 60, bo3 doesn’t run as well as IW on deck but it’s an option too.
