Look at you guys living the suite life.
Hahaha. We had noah for this one. A Standard cabin would have meant separate beds for us, as we had Noah too, and the price was right. Not often we do something like this.
@@mattconstance2196 makes sense to me.
looked good. 👍 liking your videos as well.
Thanks Joanne, we appreciate you watching them ❤
I was in one just up from you, i really enjoyed it.
Oh awesome Belinda, it was such a fantastic trip. We will have lots of videos to come ❤
Looking forward to it.
We just need to spend some time putting all the videos we did together as we took a few lol (well when I say we I mean Matt as he is the editor) I just do star jumps on the balcony 😂
Pity they are moored in Jervis Bay atm
Hi there, no we got off this ship this morning, news reports we heard said we were still in Jervis Bay, but we made it back this morning on schedule 😊
Saw you on the cruise
Oh nice next time you see us please come and say hi 👋
After watching ur video i wont get of the ship so i will sit by the pool i knew its not the best cruise terminal never heard of a terminal that doesn't provide public transport sorry Qld u wont get my money
Stay tuned there are rumours of public transport connections via ferry coming soon. We have a video coming in the next couple of weeks about this. Don't forget to subscribe.
Get it Deb 💃🏻
Haha it was a lot of fun such a great cruise
Thanks guys, was a fantastic night.. great to meet you all.
It certainly was a great night. We are on pacific adventure right now and the chefs table is the same menu, so tempting as it was soooo good.
Nice. I like that. I hope they have that QR code for services when I go on next march. Thanks deb and Matt. 👍
Hey Joanne, I have no reason to think they won't have it onboard in March. What cruise are you doing?
@@debandmattchat im going to new Zealand
@@debandmattchat hi deb and Matt can I ask when do I find out what theme nights royal will have for when I go on my cruise??
This looks amazing guys. We might need to try it and Deb, you looked stunning. 😍
From a value for money perspective, it was amazing. Definitely a different Chefs table experience compared to others such as on Royal Caribbean, but thoroughly enjoyable. P&O sell these "onboard only" for their shorter sailings.
@@debandmattchat we are yet to do a chefs table. If we can get a chance without kids we might need to. 😁
@CruiseCrazedFam We love doing them, but not too often 🤑. It is really surprising how different they are between brands and even ships within he same brand.
Hey guys would you know if they have an option for non drinkers and if so, the cost ?
@@jammo4747 We haven't see reduced prices for a Chefs Table experience on any cruise for non-drinkers. What we have seen is alternatives offered, such as mocktails and other refreshments. Even if you weren't having the wines, it would still be worth it in our view, given you get very well sized meals and you get the galley tour.
I didn't want to spend the money but The Key sounds like I'll enjoy embarking and disembarking plus meeting others who bought The Key at lunch when we meet for a couple of meals. Just bought the key at $37/day and I feel just so ... RELIEVED knowing I won't have to stand around losing my patience getting on and off the ship. Thanks!
@SoCalCycleLawyer thanks for the message, yes we agree the line ups can be something that makes you lose patience lol. We hope it makes your trip more enjoyable and love hearing about your experience after your cruise.
Thanks for showing us the Brissy cruise Port terminal
Now you know for when you guys head this way for a cruise!
do u need travel insurance from sydney to brisbane by a cruise
Hi Ash, We always recommend travel insurance. It's important to remember that travel insurance doesn't just cover you while you are on your cruise, but also protects your outlay before you cruise. If the worst happened and you were involved in some sort of accident before you cruise, the travel insurance will often cover cancellations etc. Obviously each policy is different, but we never leave home without it. It is also important to remember that Medicare (If Australian)does not cover any costs onboard, nor does private health insurance and if something did happen you would want to be protected financially.

Best joke ever, telling my husband the same joke now 😅
Because of this video I have brought the key to help all 5 of us we are on anthem out of Southampton next week and yours was the best explanation I have heard
Hi there, we are so happy to hear you found the video helpful. We looked up your cruise and we are very jealous, it sounds amazing. We hope you all have a fantastic time and look forward to hearing how you felt the key did, or didn't benefit you all. Happy Cruising
Thank you we are looking to go on a trip around Australia and New Zealand. When we are ready to go over there. We have visit family in New Zealand a few times, so looking forward to a trip to Australia
There are plenty of great cruises from Australia to New Zealand, and some other great cruise destinations too. In the mean time enjoy your cruise next week. 🛳️🚢
Do you get internet for each person in the room? We will have two people, so do we get one device each or do we have to share?
@@karriestewart1462 You sure do. The Internet is for one device per person who has the Key Package.
When we boarded in Honolulu last year, the debarkation from Australia had been delayed. I think many people came way early for embarcation, so terminals was full of people waiting to board. We had the key, so we found an employee and asked him where to go. He let us through, so we were on the ship in less than 10 minutes. We enjoyed some of the onboard benfits. We felt it was worth it for us.
That's a really good point. It certainly does help with getting through crowds on embarkation day.
Great idea! I think if you have one already, you could use a swimmer's dry bag / swim buoy - they are similar configuration to keep water out, not in, but they should work as well.
It's definitely a possibility, although you would want one that is a bit drippy, many of those can be ber rather smooth in our experience and might not release the dirt well. It's a great idea to consider though if you have one on hand.
OMG, you two are hilarious. What a wonderful way too propose. Matt you’re such a romantic. I love Deb’s reaction 😂
A romantic "kidnapper" 🤣 Thanks for watching. We certainly do enjoy laughing our way through life together.
Hi deb looks like a good idea. Just a question does this tear your clothes at all? Im on the royal next march and unfortunately as you know they don’t have do it yourself laundry facilities.
Hey there, this bag certainly doesn't tear at your clothes they are like little silicone bubble type things lol sorry not the best description but very soft on your clothes. I will be taking mine on all our royal trips.
You did a wonderful job with your first solo video. What a marvellous idea for washing your clothes. I’m going to look into that. Thank you both for your suggestions and great videos.
Thank you for your comment, it was a video done when Matt and I did a day when he went on shore versus me on the ship. I'm happy to answer any more questions but this was one that helped us with a part of everyday cruising.
Great idea!
We are loving it.
Great idea for the ships without self service laundries. I haven’t seen theses bags before.
@CruiseCrazedFam Hey Ami, yeah I did a lot of research and came across these and it worked so well and doesn't take up space in the suitcase
@@debandmattchat so good!
Great video Deb. I was going to get one for my cruise so I love seeing it in action.
@calliesmith9651 thank you, yes whilst you won't be doing a big load like you do in a washing machine it only takes about 5 mins to do a small load so helps keep up with smalls etc and getting a clothes line helps them dry quickly.

Great explanation of each of the parts of the Key. I’ve chosen to get it for my cruise, looking forward to the perks.
Glad you found the video useful. It is definitely a worthwhile consideration. Just a few factors to keep in mind.
Hi again guys 👋 Great rundown of the key and what it gives you. My question is, do you get priority boarding on the tender boats when you want to return to the ship from the port? Thanks again and keep up the great videos 👍🏻👍🏻
Hi Darren, thanks for the message. In Australia you don't get priority boarding back on the tenders and to be honest I have never waited long personally anyway. However, there are some ports in the US that do have priority boarding back on the tenders. Thanks again for watching 😃
Haha!!! Hope you two are having fun on your cruise❤
They say the #couple that laughs together stays together, but we prefer the couples that goes on a 🚢 #cruise together stays together 🤣
Hello! Greet vlog on the KEY! Appreciate the time you took to explain each perk that comes with the KEY as well as the options to obtain the same perks as add-ons. I also appreciate and concur with your final assessment on whether the KEY is worth it, depends on individual preferences and travel needs/styles - just like the Drink Package. I have purchased the KEY once because I got it at a good sale price and I really wanted it for the internet. At the price I paid, it was like purchasing the internet package that came with a few perks! The internet is the main attraction for me under most circumstances. Perhaps if planning a cruise with several tender ports the value of the KEY for me might change, but once again, it depends! Thank you so very much for sharing your knowledge and experience! 😎😎😎
We are so glad your liked our video. And thank you for commenting. So many recommendations we have seen are very "black and white" about it and we really do believe "it depends" when it comes to buying this #RoyalCaribbean #cruise feature. Finding The KEY at a sale price is like finding treasure on a tropical island, and you are right it can really change the value. When it is on sale, it can really shift the value proposition.
thanks for your info,i should mention Oriana was a true P&O ship, while Fairstar was Sitmar, cruised on both in the 80's,each had their own charms
Thanks. We had family, as did many Aussies, travel on Oriana. As you mention the Sitmar brand also disappeared and ultimately this is just the next interation and evolution of the Australian cruise industry.
you skipped all the steps...

Great Proposal 🥰
Thank you. She liked it enough to say yes, so goal achieved 😆
At least he brought the ring with him to propose and didn’t leave it at home 😂 Michael left the ring at home when we went out to dinner the night before his big 40. He ended up proposing on the couch after dinner! lol We went on our first cruise for our 5th Wedding anniversary on P&O Pacific Explorer - kid free! We had multiple cruises booked and canceled during covid that we were taking the family and ended up doing a family Christmas cruise with Carnival Splendor in 2023 and have another family cruise booked in Mid December 2024! We love it. ❤
Left the ring at home? In some ways that is safer than what Matt did. He could have lost it overboard he was so close to the edge. Imagine that! Cruising certainly is a pretty great way to have a holiday, whether as a couple, family or in a group. 🛳️💓
Lovely pictures of beautiful memories
Thanks Wendy. Very special memories indeed. ❤️ It's our story but also the story of when Matt fell in love with #cruising too. Thanks for watching. -Matt
It certainly was memorable and we love reminiscing about it. Thank you for the lovely comment - Deb

thanx so much for that info Matt
We are glad you liked it. Be sure to check out some of our other videos we are walk through the embarkation process and a bit more of a tour of the terminal. czcams.com/video/ykdlbjGjyAg/video.htmlsi=UMUnO5IzeH_L3ey5
We managed to be able to do the escape room only because the people we cruised with were able to pre-book it before we left, even then we still nearly didn't get a booking.
It certainly is a very very popular activity. You have to be almost as quick booking that as you do booking an early checkin slot!
So very sad to see this iconic brand being shutdown.
Hey there @ChrisFrameOfficial Very sad in deed. So many memories for so many Australians with P&O Australia. Even for us it has a special place in our hearts with us getting engaged on P&O Pacific Dawn. It is interesting that they termed it as "sunsetting" the brand.
@@debandmattchat Worse than just What it means for oztrayaa , As you guys will still have the rebranded carnival ships based there, what it also means for kiwis is that there are no cruise ships ever leaving from New Zealand-Very few even visiting but none that us Kiwis can board here for return voyages as I understand it
Totally agree with you. It is a massive knock to NZ and many smaller regional and seasonal ports. In Australia it means places like Adelaide and Fremantle will have less service as Explorer used to spend part their season at ports like that, meaning places like kangaroo Island will have less visits. With New Zealand missing out it also has a flow on to Noumea, Vanuatu and other south pacific nations as well. The impacts of less ships is far reaching indeed.
We are definitely getting less choices. We love P&O, the staff are fantastic.
Yep - With Pacific Explorer Going and one less brand there will definitely be a change. Royal are mixing things up from 25/26 season with Voyager returning to Australia. So we will have a Voyager Class and Quantum Class ship from them, but this announcement is on the back of Virgin Voyages withdrawing from Australia and Princess also redeploying one of their ships. Sadly with all this loss of capacity we don't see prices stabilising any time soon.
I am going to miss P&O a lot cause they have been such a big part of our cruising in Australia and i got one on Adventure in August and i am going to book an Australian Classic cruise in January before the P&O brand name goes away it is like a big footprint 👣 here that is left behind on the ground
Hey Wendy - Yeah we will be assessing when our "last" P&O Australia cruise will be too. At this stage it is the NYE cruise on Encounter to the South Pacific. As you say book footprint left on the aussie psyche and in our hearts. The brand hold a special place in our hearts too. Matt proposed to Deb on Pacific Dawn way back when.
@@debandmattchat hope you do get to cruise on Encounter too and that would be a beaut cruise to for you both could go on and nice romantic touch to propose to Deb too onboard a cruise ship what a way to go
@@user-wm4vd6lc1q Atleast she will still be around as Carnival Encounter.
That is another kick in the Aussie guts... we need more cruising.. not less.
It is concerning that we dont know what will happen for Southern Cruisers who normally depart from Melbourne or Adelaide. Melbourne as we know was becoming too expensive But this will definitely hurt Adelaide and also Auckland. Maybe RCCL can will see an opportunity to keep Voyager here year round and pick up some of the slack.
@@debandmattchat Melbourne ports needs to get a kick in the arse or fix station pier and get shipping back
@@THEDOWNUNDERCRUISERS Certainly lots of opportunities down south to be realised and such a contrast to Queensland where there are already discussing expansions at the BICT.
Thanks for the info Matt, appreciate it very much
No problem Mary. We will be sure to keep covering this as more news about new schedules gets released.
We hope our 80s cruise in November on pacific explorer is still happening as that cruise is my present for fighting my cancer for the 4th time
@travelwithdebandnick There should be no problems in November 2024. Explorer is leaving Australia in Feb 2025. Her last cruise will be heading from there to Singapore.
Hi Matt, were shattered here
Yeah lots of memories for us. Deb & I got engaged 💌 on P&O Pacific Dawn in 2018.
carnival is known as the fun ship brand carnival always owned p&o brand as well as all the other cruiselines like, princess the ships are all being rebranded around carnival . we lost our 2 best carnival ships to the US they rebranded costa shops luminosa and splendor and they are the worst ships , p & o are smaller which some people prefer , carnival has crap entertainment and the food is pretty ordinary theres not much going for it
Certainly are lot of people that are concerned. There was always just that bit of difference between Carnival & P&O Australia to differentiate them and appeal to slightly different market segments but it is a challenge when the South Pacific is such a small market compared to others. This will certainly have an impact all around Australia though.
