WhiteFox Eclipse High Profile review
Alpaca Keyboards/Apos finally sent me a final WhiteFox Eclipse... it won't be hardcore but...
Link to the keyboard: apos.audio/collections/mechanical-keyboards/products/whitefox-eclipse-aluminum-high-profile
UPDATE: Kunal just told me that Alpaca Keyboards didn't merge with Apos, I guess they only use them for the marketplace/logistic etc...

I get where you're coming from. What I see as it's reason for existence is that it's one of the very few 75% low profile keyboards on the market, and the only one I know of from a mainstream manufacturer with better QA resources than other manufacturers. It looks nice on the desk. The layout is compact. The battery life is excellent. The wireless connectivity seems much better than Nuphy or Keychron. The Logi Bolt receiver means you can use one receiver with other Logitech devices, such as the MX Master 3s mouse. It's more for businesses and people that just want to buy a keyboard and use it, vs. keyboard enthusiasts who want to mod their keyboards. For people who are not uber picky about the feel and sound of keyboards, it types just fine. Sounds to me like there are plenty of reasons for it to exist. If it had VIA/QMK support I would buy one for every computer I own. Without VIA/QMK support, it's not a good keyboard for Linux computers because Logi Options+ doesn't run on Linux.

The reason why this is kind of my only option is because i need the logi dongle to connect to my company laptop. On our laptop bluetooth is blocked but i want a wireless keyboard and mouse. If amyone has another solution than logitech please comment 🙌🏼

NEVER BUY THIS KEYBOARD I unfortunately got this keyboard as my first mechanical keyboard and every review was praising the "amazing build quality" But just after a few months it started to give me electrical shocks through the aluminum and after a few years it literally became a fire hazard when it started to burn the cable because of a faulty connection. All of this is likely caused by the terrible soldering and the pcb directly touching the aluminum case It's basically a bunch of trash attached to a piece of aluminum, I wish I watched a video like this before buying, we need more reviewers that actually dissect the product to see whats really inside

Hello Matt3o! Susu MTNU user here. I have mixed feelings about these keycaps-mostly due to the manufacturer's QA: 1. Spacebar is indeed bent...sadly it's not only a cosmetic issue. It affects the fit and sound because it wobbles. And combined with the second issue it gets worse... 2. The slots for stabilizers are very loose (I'm using TX AP stabilizers; fixed this issue with 4 layers of Saran wrap over the stabilizer stems). In comparison, MT3 /dev/tty are super tight. Overall Susu MTNU have slightly loose keycap stems but I guess this is a common thing for GMK keycaps. However, the spacebar is the only keycap in the set which sits really loose (and in turn sounds/feels bad)-likely in part due to the issue number one in my list. 3. I wish the spacebar keycap was a bit thicker-out of the box is sounds very hollow and feels unusually light and thin (probably because it's not a double shot keycap?). I can even feel the stem contact points while swiping my finger over its surface...Luckily, I've fixed the hollow sound completely by using a thick (3mm) double-sided adhesive silicon tape though (Kilmat is another option, I guess). 4. The manufacturing process is far from perfect as there are clearly visible slightly protruding contact points remaining from the injection molding on the surface of the keycaps. It's on the upper back surface of the keycap (so it's visible depending on what angle you look at the keyboard but at least you never touch it when typing). It's certainly an eye sore though. I was unpleasantly surprised as even the much cheaper keycaps sets I own don't have this issue. What's worse, the spacebar keycap has four such points...and I prefer to use the spacebar in the reversed position! So it's right here in front of my eyes. And apparently it's not possible to sand these things down without making the keycap texture there look smooth. Alas, it's not viable to me to get a refund from the seller (due to international shipping and import taxes) so I will have to live with these issues. And some wishes regarding the keycaps: 1. Someone already mentioned that these keycaps can highly benefit by including alternate F and J with homing bars or dots-I wholeheartedly agree as I found that compared to MT3 profile the difference in dished F/J compared to other alpha keycaps is not as noticeable. Don't get me wrong, the mold difference is very significant...However, because the touchable surface area of MTNU is much larger compared to MT3 I easily feel the different dish shape with my fingertips with MT3, but with MTNU I just don't feel it. I just feel that it's a bit deeper keycap-but it's really not something I can feel instantly while gliding my fingers over the keyboard. A small dot or homing bar will solve this problem completely. 2. I wish to have alternate keycaps ~ and \ in darker shade matching the surrounding keys (Backspace, Caps Lock, etc). E.g. MT3 /dev/tty R3 has these alternate keycaps. Overall, it's an interesting profile spoiled a bit by bad QA. I'm impressed with double-shot PBT-with perfect legends, good sound, and smooth texture. I wish the issues will be fixed, some improvements are made (dotted F/J please!), and /dev/tty color theme will be provided in this profile. Regards!

These keyboards are laughably overpriced at $200, terribly priced at $169, and maybe okay-ish priced at $119 (as they were Black Friday 2023). This is just my opinion obviously. Allow me to defend it. I only say okay-ish because I feel the keycaps are pretty decent quality. Specifically, they are dye sublimated PBT, so they should hold up pretty well; moreover, they are rather thick, and, to me, have a good feel. The profile and heavily concaved shape are definitely of the unique variety that beg to draw out strong opinions. Personally, I like them, but I'm pretty versatile when it comes to keycaps. There isn't any tactile bump on the "F" or "J" keys to quickly find your start position for typing. Not cool, though with some practice I've found I can use my pinkies to kind of find it. As for the Holy Panda X switches, they are honestly pretty great tactiles imo. Though, I'm not one of those people that have sampled 50+ tactile switches (probably more like 10). And the gigantic elephant in this room is that they're soldered, which pretty much eliminates many people who might tune the board from doing so. This is really unfortunate because hot-swappable boards are very commonplace now and decent ones are definitely not expensive, especially when considering the price of the ENTR. The major bummer, of course, is the ENTR keyboard is frankly pretty garbagy. Even someone who has only watched some keyboard modding videos for a little while would probably be able to tell the lack of materials and effort put into the board. There's no attempt to dampen sound and I think most people spending this kind of money would expect the case to be all metal. However, I believe the metal is where most of the pinging comes from. Unless you type really hard, it's not too bad. The top plastic piece is a flimsy joke...like insultingly so imo. The backlighting is rather pathetic. I'm glad it's there but it's basically just there to be there. It mostly helps create some separation; it does not help see the keys in the dark, and this would be the case even if the keys weren't somewhat difficult to read under bright lighting. Though, this isn't why most people are buying the board. The keys are much more aesthetic the way they are and really should be as they are. If DROP wanted to make something truly special, they would have made the key caps shine through and used red LEDs on the Black Speech version (and made similar themes for the elf and dwarf versions). I digress. One would think I don't like the keyboard, but I actually like it just fine. I think the problem is really that if any objective analysis is done, the keyboard basically feels like a cash-grab. And that's probably because it is. If it goes on sale like it did for Black Friday, one likes Holy Panda X switches, and also likes Lord of the Rings, I'd say you could do a lot worse. The keys alone are currently $89 (but there are a lot of extra keys in the standalone set) and Holy Panda X's are not super cheap switches. I must say, the keyboard looks incredible and even more so with an overpriced artisan keycap! That's really the appeal-it has phenomenal aesthetics and it's something LotR fans can appreciate every day.
