How I Became a Game Developer in 1 Year
2:56 doom 2 final boss music 😂
3 months doesn't sound so bad
I am not really good in coding yet i only have some small experience in coding on unity on my last year of middle school this year but unity int really free so i am trying to learn Godot insteed and its hard i mostly need help on coding and the component to even use that code luckily for me tho i had way better experience in blender because it well just easier then coding and stuff in my opinion also i have some more experience in blender because i like to mess around with other stuff like blender
What does it mean when this guy said that "Brackeys was the got btw", I didn't really understood... Somebody explain to me, please. English is not my native language
Brackeys is a channel that teaches game dev. Goat means "greatest of all time"
Cool beanz then :)
i needed this... thx..
Me searching on YT to quit Smoking. You Tube : You sure ? Its a Joke man I don't smoke
Lmaoooo 😂😂
@Fredyy, it is true that you miss all of the shots you don't take. Hang in there, things always get better. I look forward to all of your videos, so know that you are already making a difference. You are already a winner. This video is an example of one step in a journey. ✌️
HELPED ME A TON! THANKS, MOTIVATED ME TO DO MY ASSESMENTS
it is kinda confusing how you are cutting and suddenly have a completely different movement function around 17:50 multiple times without even mentioning it
Entering my villian arc on this video
lesson number 2 you can't escape programming. watch me lol.
my comment getting deleted automatically. When I add a youtube video link.
It's been a while, I have been trying and kept failing on my first 3 games
If you hate how messy visual programming is with all of its wires going all over the place, Then oh boy you'll fricking love text programming.
My only dream game is one where the world is generated via a Civilization style game in 3D and the player would run around this world and fight in real time.
I quit. There's no good game engines and I'm not making my own engine.
I quit. Fuck Godot.
I remember trying to code and learn but It gets boring lol
"majula theme" ahh nostalgic
Time for you to code in Assembly lets see if you can
your voice is so soothing to the ears mate 🙏, sounds like a an advice from an elder brother who genuinely care for his younger one's growth 💯/
Thanks bro, rooting for you!
wow this title is quite demoralising
adding into Lesson #2, when you write code, focus on what works first then improve it later. Too much premature optimization wastes a lot of time.
i agree heavy on the fact to make it your own way. if you watch tutorials hes not wrong. watch them but only to understand how to get the mechanics going. i suggest trying out codes that look easy to read and comes natural to understand FOR YOU. YOU NEED TO FAIL TO UNDERSTAND. first rule before starting a game DUMP YOUR AAA GAME IDEA OUT THE WINDOW. until you know how to build a game all by yourself with minimal help and effort dump it, its useless. its not a bad idea you prbly have a million dollar game idea but you dont even know how to build one. keep smashing codes together to see what works keep restarting projects until things start sticking.
Mediocre but finished game is way better than a unfished game with great idea (too much ambitious ideas results burnout)
weird vibes in this one
lol my game idea is literally GTA combined with any sports game drop 30 points on lebrons head then robbing a bank
Your game sucks
I want to make a transformers multiplayer br and arena game
Been messing around in game maker, im bad at math and dont know how to code although ive learn alot so far, turns out its basically one giant math formula 😅
this video wasnt useless.... but it was WAY more detrimental to anyone wanting to become a game dev than helpful for starters the title and thumbnail will discourage people from even trying to begin with edit: youtube ate my additional edits and I cant be bothered to fix it, so incomplete critique go brrrrr
Lesson 1, do not give up if you don't understand this video... There are way easier walkthroughs out there that are actually serious about helping you create games, not whatever this joke of a video is.
i thought this was gonna be a satire video, but these tips are actually valuable, wow, thank you buddy
Basically, learn C++
1.my brain is a potato i cant code .2 you are correct my idea is stupid as hell 3. i cant make models or sprites 4. i am stupid 5. im also very stupid 6 i lost brain cells while watching this 7 i realised im not made for this
i want to make amobile game like clash of clans
Cringe
hahahaha. You're the man, thanks for your wisdom. It is our journey hahaha
Massive disappointment! I expected a vocal rant about Godot, but wasted 5 minutes on this instead.
Wow😂😂😂😂
I created the battle royal and extraction shooter genres in 2003. I was told dont be the idea guy......
Damn, since i still don't know how to code in any legitimate programming language, i guess i'll give up
I guess im dumb
still can't make games, is it over for me?
This title is wrong. You dont just give up if you dont get it instantly. Keep trying for however long it takes. One day all that experiance and the habit of working hard is going to be very, very useful. So dont listen to this video title, Never. Give. Up.
this inspired me, i'll do my best :D
Bonus tip: if you ever make a game that is a massive success, release a sequel to it, some dlc for the sequel, end it on a cliffhanger and NEVER make a third game.
volvo's tech tips
Better pro-tip: never release any sequels. 90% of sequels fail horribly, 9% of them become tolerable mediocre continuations (fans would have a love-hate relationship with it), and only 1% of them become successful.
Dude, This is not recommend. Poor noobs are crying in there room.
Everyone should give up lmao
I think i´m going to study politics instead, good video tho.
