Spirit 259 Battery Fire in Overhead Bin

Spirit Airlines flight 259 from Dallas to Orlando diverted to Jacksonville reporting a fire onboard. The flight crew landed the plane safely and was met on the ground by emergency crews. Not a lot of drama here... I just happened to be at the airport with my scanner when it happened.

American Airlines flight 1775 diverted to Kansas City after 'unruly passenger' subdued. The passenger had displayed "erratic behavior" before being subdued by crew members and others onboard the flight. Flight attendant konks guy in the head with a coffee pot! These are the air traffic control communications between the pilot and Center, Approach and Tower.

Oracal 651 cut by a Cricut for a mask. Aluminum oxide 150 grit shot at about 75 psi with a combination of a Harbor Freight benchtop blast cabinet and a Spot Blaster. Kobalt 27 gallon air compressor. Krylon spray paints. Mugs from Amazon.

I just finished assembling my new Oklahoma Joe's Rider DLX and wanted to share this with you. You'll see the first pellets coming through the auger tube, the heat element lighting up and the pellets igniting. The red hot grilling zone is also pretty impressive. Not a lot of commentary... just wanted you guys to see what an initial burn in on this beast looks like.

The Griswold family from Chicago was in the process of kicking off their fun old-fashioned family Christmas in Florida this week. While searching for the annual Griswold Christmas tree, Clark took a wrong turn and crashed into the Sarasota-Bradenton Airport terminal. While injuries were minor, they made "pretty good time."

The US government banned HikVision. Do not meet NDAA. Just to be warned.
So as a aviation nerd and photographer myself just a general rule I follow is 60 ft away from the fence I follow this rule at military bases and Commercial airports if there's no parking garage available but I've had run-ins with law enforcement too and it all ended on good notes
Police are aloud to make you move if they think you suspicious
Just came across this, I was on that flight DTW to ATL then to Narita the capt was very calm in explaining the issue, as soon as the fuel valves opened I knew Oh Oh, we were back in the air in less three hours.

The nauseating comments about the pilots and crew being heroes for doing their job is compounded by the evidence that seems to suggest that all of the flight attendants coming down the rear slide are carrying bags. Hope I am wrong but sure looks like they all have their gear with them. Why are people always surprised, even shocked, when people perform appropriately in an emergency situation?

This is great Bob, it doesn't seem like many people are glass etching with their vinyl cutters. I just got a cutter and am looking at what else i can do. Thanks for the info Bob
got my vinyl cutter 2 years ago and now getting into sandblasting. I've used Etching Cream, and HF acid, both with and without MICA flakes. Check those out if you want chunky texture.

Wow,,I have landed and flew out of Atlanta alot in my life,,this was a good call, thank God they were safe,,I fly Delta alot,,pretty scary stuff, I sat in the airport for 8 hrs before, with problems on aircraft,,remember if there are problems try not to be upset something is wrong, better safe than sorry

After seeing this it seems to me the 3 or more engine was a great standard for ocean crossing!
Even with this happy ending, this causes me stress. My son is a Delta pilot based in Atlanta. I cannot watch a video that has a crash of any kind, except...the one (on here somewhere) when a young girl lost a landing gear on her first solo flight. I cried like a baby. (She landed safely.)
That was in Boston area. Was a great team effort.
