I have an MGB fitted with this system about 35 years ago.. maybe longer as the car came with it. The car is now misbehaving. After about 15 minutes of driving the car simple stops and will not restart for about 15 minutes. The exhaust smells of unburnt fuel and the plugs look dry and totally healthy. I am pretty sure the carbs are adjusted perfectly. My prime suspect is now the ignition system.. Does anyone have an idea what it could be? What should I check? Normally I would suspect the condenser - but there isn't one. Could it be the coil?
Location plse want to fix my sending u
It's very frustrating when reviewers don't state their height & the size of the jacket. Many overseas buyers don't have access to try different sizes of jackets.
I had an issue with the system cutting out when it gets hot, I then have to wait for the car to cool down and start up again. I am about to change to a 123 distributor as it does not seem to have the same problems when getting hot.
Not sure about fool proof .I had mine fitted for five years trouble free and then the ignition module failed.Left me stranded. At that point I wished I had kept my original points and condenser.Would of been fixed on the roadside the old school way instead of a recovery tow.Having said that I fitted a replacement module and did not go back to points/ condenser.I carry a spare module in the boot now and if it ever occurs again I can swap out at the roadside.Expensive compared to buying points etc but certainly is not fail proof but gives great performance.
Ah, so the system I bought with my engine is missing the module..
smart !
I've just bought a used one of these but it only appears to have inner pockets for the elbow inserts and not the shoulders. Can anyone confirm it has them and if so - where?
My sending unit has 4 tubes which is one of them a return?
I'd love to see the old girl make a run at santapod raceway some day
If using generic sending unit, what ohms specs should we look for?
This is known in the constructioin inmdustry as 'hot excavating' a new trench.
Thank you, it would be helpful to show how to disconnect a bullet connector
What year was this recorded? Vintage & Classic video recording too. I'd have to mark it down a few points as black & white, grainy & crackly sound would have made it slightly more difficult to comprehend. Not much though.
love your video, especially the vintage switches like on an Austin Healey 3000 BJ8, '67 model! I do have a question, is there such a thing as a tool to tighten the rings that have the two slots like in some of your switches? I'd love to know if such a wrench is available?
I will say that my POR-15 sealer said to rotate the tank and let it sit while doing the metal prep phase. It didn't say anything about 20 minutes, it said roll the tank then let it sit each side for 30 minutes. Unfortunately i read that after having already just shook it then drained it.
I would like to see where the two wires on the Dynamator are connected. My regulator had seen better days so I would like to use a new fuse unit and not the box.
if anyone had any doubts about Polar Snow foam alone this vid is evidence.
hi, am after a classic tach, upto 3000 RPM. do you have any.
I tried the electrolysis method (on CZcams) for getting rid of the rust inside the tank, then washed it with a flexible jet wash hose that got right in. I have a 2000 Suzuki Bandit and the cap was stuck so had to cut a hole in the bottom and release it then weld it up. Believe me I tried everything else. Just about to use POR15 "now". Thanks useful video
It didn’t completely stop the leak through several pin holes annoyingly. Then I contacted a supplier to find out I couldn’t tip more in as it doesn’t stick to itself ahhhhhh. Luckily they make a patch repair paste that you brush on thinly (NOT CHEAP) which I applied to the bottom of the tank twice as one application didn’t solve it. At the moment it appears to be holding and I don’t have any other leaks.
Hello everybody ! can someone tell me if this controller also works for a bosch 12v dynostarter?! I think the year is 1969... I use it on a volvo penta md1b engine!
What I'd like to know is how to connect this sender to the matching gauge....
For any who may want to know, Moto Lita are now in Waverley, Hampshire. Thanks very much.
Does all Mota Lita Steering wheel come with markings/signature? I have one that looks exactly like one however I can't find the signature. I bought it at an estate sale with a paddy hopkirk steering that one has markings.
I love your jackets, especially your use of merino lambskins. That fleece looked liked a honey-colored sheared and plucked beaver. One thing that regularly buggs me is that making the entire thing out of sheepskin can get inaccessibly expensive. A heavy black wool overcoat, peacoat, barnstormer (wool version) or shirt jacket would be taken to an entirely different level as a consequence of that golden fleece. Hell, a duffle coat with a shearling lined hood would look gorgeous! I'd love to buy those if you had them, otherwise I just have to have them custom made.
Can't see shit.
What width cross spacer set is being used on the Morgan?
This is the 1st midrise lift that I have ever seen that has taken into consideration all the issues with lift design!!!! It's safe, simple, inexpensive, provides clear access to the entire drivetrain- EXCELLENT guys!!!! Just two requests- 1) bump up the weight load capacity to 5,500 lbs then our light duty pickups will fit on it and 2) sell this in the USA!!!!!!!
They are made in the USA.
I'm in the USA and ive owned one of these for 3 years now. I pulled the transmission on my Audi with it and I've also put my 5000 lb Jeep on it a few times as well.
Useful, thanks
Stupid question but do you still need the mechanical advanced centrifugal weights of do they not work after fitting these?
Hi Sir you should have installed the fan on the inside of the radiator as I found it give a by far better air flow by drawing more air through the radiator & over the engine & all do change the wires around & possibly the fan off & turn the fan around for the air to come through the radiator & force the air over the engine & that way you get by far better cooling Kind Regards Peter
Can the drain-off be re-used when treating a new tank ?
Is it nessacery to prep and clean a new tank that has never had fuel in it ?
Like the safety shoes ! 😆
Are all sealed beam bulbs universal/interchangeable over different car brands? Or does each car model have it's own specific type? I got an old 76 Lincoln with four bulbs and was wondering if I specifically need to search for bulbs that match this model, or if the size alone is enough to order any sealed beam that simply matches it.
As long as you have the part number to your headlight you should be fine. If you don't know or don't want to check then go to sylvania's website and give it your vehicle's your year, make, and model and it will tell you what you need and where to find it
The whole point of sealed beam headlights was that they were standardized across all platforms. Sylvania is your best bet for a good one.
Can’t hear your video at all to lower value
You are a Brit and your using an import for demonstration? Goodness, why not something expected of you, like a famous Triumph? As that gas tank is almost a work of art! Just ribbing you, great video! Thanks
Price ?

Not to be rude at all, and probably many agree, that these cars scare the living hell out of me. First Vampire's sister tragically killed its driver. Then Richard Hammond nearly died in Vampire. They really scare me and the drivers that still drive these types of dragsters have BALLS OF STEEL!
Hey, do you have the curve for a Lotus Superseven S4 from 1972 ? I have the numbers of the Lotus Superseven manual, but I wonder if you have other values.
It says on the instructions to rinse with water after "metal prep" ?
What size did you wear? I want to buy but I'm confuse about the size :/
hi, i have an original - but i cannot remove the cap to replace the bulb! how does that thing come off, please? tia!
Are you sure the membrain is laminated and not drop liner?
This is merely a video telling us to replace wooden discs with modern fibre ones. Very well but you don't explain how to adjust/set the wooden old type. Also you don't say that the small star goes UNDERNEATH the big star; something most people don't understand and get wrong.
@Will he heck as like On my 1932 Lagonda the Hartford shock absorber pressure, according to the manual, should be set to 30 - 35 Lbs. With your method it is not possible to do that. I take the Hartfords off the car and press each down on scales. I tighten or loosen the nut until the scales reads 30 - 35 Lbs. I have used this method, as described in the original Hartford brochure, for 40 years now; it works perfectly and is accurate. However, it is a big job. I therefore do this only once (or every 10 years or so). When the adjusted Hartfords are back on the car I check the speed with which the jacked-up wheel comes down to the ground using your method. I note the time it takes for the wheels to come down from 30 cm (it differs for front and rear) and henceforth use those figures to adjust the Hartfords while they stay on the car.
No mention of fibre discs, these are polymer discs with zero stiction, easy to set up with a pull luggage type gauge.
You don't say what the thread is in the cylinder block? - it could be 1/8 BSP 28tpi or 1/8 NPS 27tpi Many guys screw a 1/8 BSP into a 1/8 NPS thread which is a bodge.
Did u remove the fuel pump?
Do you know if there is a. 123 supplier in cape town SA
Horrible camera work Min 5:20 this tool is the biggest shit tool, better to get a propper tool, this pliers never make a good crimp.
