I’m right handed. I prefer to hold my rod and reel with my dominant right hand/arm, and reel/crank with my left hand, so I prefer the left handed reel.. if you prefer to hold the rod with your left hand, then you’d want to buy the right handed reel. I hope this helps.

@@fishingtacklechannel that would be correct. I still call the conquest a Calcutta. I’ve got a few and even the older models still work well. I love Daiwa’s stuf as well and own a bunch of it but this just seems to be a variation of what shimano has been doing for over 20 years. I’m sure it’s a great reel , I’d just like to see something different.

The problem with reel review videos like this is people barely use them and gives opinion. Use them all for couple seasons. Fish minimally couple hundred trips before get to the conclusion. Hello! Can you please tell me if thіs Abu Garcia Revo Beast 41L is suitable for fishing with spinnerbaits (18 - 30 gr.), chatterbaits and surface and deep crankbaits? For example, one of the cranks will be O.S.P. Blitz Magnum SR (40 gr). I need a powerful reel with low gear ratio. For fishing with nylon line with a diameter of 0.35 - 0.40 mm. For pike fishing. At first sight, this reel is what I need. And how well can it throw such baits?

For those ready to comment and criticize about how I should keep what I’m going to eat instead of keeping my limit in freezer, please read. As an avid recreational fisherman, I choose to participate in local headboat and party boat fishing trips for several important reasons that contribute positively to the environment and the local economy. First and foremost, these local operations support sustainable fishing practices that are carefully monitored and regulated, ensuring fish populations remain healthy and viable. In contrast, large commercial fishing operations often engage in overfishing, which can lead to the depletion of fish and damage to marine ecosystems. That is why I choose not to buy my fish from supermarkets. Also, supermarket fish are disgusting. Unfortunately, I don’t have easy access to locally owned fish markets. By fishing with local headboat and party boat operators, I am catching h what I’m eating while contributing directly to the livelihood of small businesses within our community. These boats are committed to maintaining sustainable practices because their livelihood depends on the long-term health of fish populations. This local economic support is vital for our fishing community and ensures that we have access to fresh, sustainably caught fish. Also, not every trip results in limits, so I keep what I’m legally allowed to take home.
