2012 Dodge Grand Caravan TIPM Bypass For Blower Motor Circuit- SAVE $$$ By Not Replacing TIPM!
In this video, I explain how I diagnosed the power failure, and show how I bypassed the TIPM using a fog light relay in order to deliver power to the blower motor speed control. This repair saved me about $600.

I also added a grease zerk to the steering stem, because why not? it seems like it will help those bearings last.

you gotta tip the TIPM up so you can work on it lol. Nice job explaining everything. 10/10
Does your rear seat swivel?
They do not swivel but they fold into the floor for a nice flat cargo area.
Thanks for the explanation. I had to watch about 6 videos before I found this one where someone explains why it’s there, how it works, and why it needs to be replaced at all, if broken.
@@citizen762 I'm happy this video could help somebody

I'd love to have some more info on this. I get that you removed the relay from next to the rad but I'm not sure what's happening after that. Hopefully the other video comes out soon.
@jessekershaw76 hopefully I will be getting it put together this weekend. I didn't remove a relay per se, I just cut the wire that gets power from the TIPM and rerouted key-on power to that wire using the fog light relay. The fuse tap is just my source of key-on power to activate the relay. Thanks for dropping in.
czcams.com/video/0Q_TbTKcn6s/video.html Here's a link to the full video.
I had to put one of those bypass bridges on for the integraded fuel pump relay on ours. Sometimes it would start for a second and quit when the key was released and it was doing it more and more. Hasn't done it since.
These are great stoves. Your comment about the aux burner design is better than Coleman is spot on. Thermos stoves are too. You can get full power out of both sides with them. That's not possible with Colemans unfortunately. Don't get me wrong, I love Coleman stoves. I think they could have done a better job balancing the power like this though. This one's acting like the air valve isn't doing much and/or the gas tip is really worn/oversized. While these burners don't like spills, they put out tons of heat.
I have a 14 and uses that filter but all the videos I see on CZcams shows total different set up wth
@keithleonard7778 normally a 2014 vehicle would have a 2nd generation pentastar which has an updated oil filter adapter and new design filter. It's possible yours was assembled with the old one for some weird reason, or that the oil filter adapter had been replaced with the wrong one, or maybe even an engine swap if you're not the original owner
Would this work on a rear Subaru bearing?
@rickroel4994 I have used it several times for that. The matco salesman claims that every tech in the local subaru dealership bought one.
Who is watching this in 2024
Keep on revving
1000lb-ft cordless impact should work with this right?
@elmayimbe_the_amateur_mechanic it works, but be careful because if you just go to town on it, it's possible to cause damage. Normally I just use a ratchet so I can feel what's going on
@@Krankie_V , thanks. I have 2 of the same cars. A 2002 and 2005 Infiniti Q45. Here in San Diego so no rust. The 2005 needs a ton of work and has sat for a year. I have had all 4 hubs and both LCA's for over a year now. Gonna experiment on the 2005 with this. If it goes well I will just leave the old hubs on and put the new ones on my 2002. Thanks.
@@elmayimbe_the_amateur_mechanic with no rust, you probably don't even need this tool
@@Krankie_V, I did rusty front hubs on a 2013 Ford Explorer from Virginia. Scared mr for life. I am using this thing for sure. I want this to be as easy as possible.
tip: use a steel plate on the caliper attachment to distribute the pressure from the tool
i am working on a troy built w/a briggs and stratton 650 series which i think has this very problem. thankyou for this awesome imformation!
Hope it helps
Are you in the rust belt?
Big time. Upstate NY
I ised to work on the ol' Bunton 32's Back then Honda made a tough motor, I the only problem with the Buntons was the deck. Made from cheap canadian steel. If the paint chipped and moister got in rust-o-roma happened over night. But that motor was a beast
It does appear to be extremely well built. The deck on this one has plenty of chipped paint, but it isn't very rusty. The steel is inelcredibly thick for a mower!
So helpful. My automatic start and keep going button burned out a long time ago. Now i need some kind of oomph routine. The manual heavy crank start. A choke pulled just the right amount. Gas pedal perfect. Dont rev straight away. Let the engine idle and warm up first. Old Model T
This tool is almost useless, at least for most of knuckles(backing plates or caliper mounts will get a damage)
Not true.... I have used it many times without damage
@@Krankie_V I've just checked on Amazon and many people said the thread on a rod is so weak, even on an item it's described as Upgraded. Where did you get urs from?

What's worse? Ruining a cheap back plate? Or giving up and bringing the car to a shop that will charge you $500? I don't understand the backing plate argument, just cut it off, buy another one or don't put it back on
@@DaDaDo661 many backing plates are not available. Many of them are crazy expensive, even older Toyota's. I work for a small used car dealership, so I know what I'm talking about

Is this fire order for 1.6 cvh ford escort Xr3
This is a 1.9 cvh, but I believe it is the same as the 1.6
Imagine the confusion if they called it oil lol
Would the brake system technically run since they are both oils?
Brake fluid is not oil based. Oil damages the brake system.
@@Krankie_V I thought brake fluid is a type of oil! Brake fluid, prestone is a type of oil!
@mouseclicksforu9724 most brake fluid is Glycol based, except DOT5 which is silicone based. None are compatible with oil.
@@Krankie_V I use dot 3 brake fluid for my 2009 ford focus! I checked on the cap!
@mouseclicksforu9724 good, best to use what is recommended. It would be okay to use DOT 4 if you wish. It's the same type of fluid with more boil over protection. Basically a higher performance version of the same fluid.
What if the whole stem broke?
Replace the entire housing
You should use DeOxit on the connector terminals to remove any corrosion. DON'T use WD-40, since it isn't electrical connector cleaner! Add some antisieze to the screws before to install them.
Never had any corrosion issues on the socket connectors myself, but good tips! I never use WD40, that stuff isn't very useful to me
LEMMER in mississauga is the ones to deal with. I’m having the exact same issue with mine.
I got an email back from them eventually. There is a large packing nut in the pump assembly, found under the metal nameplate cover. Loosening that slightly got mine to work better.
Maybe those tubes fall off sometimes? My Blue Rhino one I just got won't keep good flow. Research has showed that the reason may be because it's overfilled?
Not sure, I had a lot of flow when it was over full, but it was also letting liquid out instead of just gas, which made my heater expel large flames. Low flow is usually a problem with the regulator on the appliance.
Timing is low but other then that definitely not stock

Hi Krankie, I a saw a comment of your about fixing a stolen kia in your shop. May I ask how much it costs/how easy is it to fix just to get the car running again? Mine wouldn't start but I don't know if that's because the electricals we unplugged or whatever they did. Thanks
I believe it was around 2000$ but can't be certain. The billing is not my job, and it was handled by insurance anyway. That car started and ran just fine though. Just a lot of damage to the steering column

Most people should be on the road period. They definitely shouldn’t have access to anything under the hood. I knew a guy who’s brakes locked up on the passenger front so he cut the brake line thinking he could just drive with the other brakes. I said no you don’t have any brake fluid left for 1 and so many other reasons. Lol natural selection isn’t working correctly anymore. Hahaha
Damn, that is crazy!
