I double checked this today and good call, this is correct for standard campaign play. I am not sure which expansion or town crier (maybe it wasn't an official one) but I have actually seen and played with rules for starting XP, and another for buying advancements but I haven't had the time to look up the page # and whatnot for those.

Thank you so much for the detailed response! I agree with you, it feels like some of the changes are a little questionable. We are going into a new game system that's encouraging/offering larger unit count, which is strange because they also stated they wanted to counter larger dice pools (which kinda goes hand and hand with larger units and overall points lol)... AND I noticed a lot of units had their dice pools either increased or improved leading to greater hit success %, maybe some of them needed the buff but it just seems to be leading to the idea of larger attack pools than ever. I can see how the new cover system would kinda mitigate this but it also seems to come with a huge element of randomness. I do want to try the new rules out before I entrench myself to deeply one way or another, but I am kinda nervous about them and the design philosophy of AMG. I agree sense the takeover alot of the Star Wars products have not been handled the way I would like, I am obvs not a company CEO nor do i understand a lot of the complexities involved with taking ownership of these games but I'm normally a little skeptical when I look at a new change/products released by them, and these rule updates are no exception. Sorry the changes effect the Republic so drastically, you clearly played them at a much higher level than me! I did look at a couple of the Republic unit changes and as I mentioned in the video I do play them but less so than Empire and Rebels (still played a lot of games with them, and I'm also a phase 1 commander!!!), Rebel changes have taken my focus the past couple days (might be playing rebels with the new rules in a tournament not 100% sure yet), which is why I was so salty about the transport changes. I just got my van fully painted and looking cool with a custom squad of gamorrean guard to haul around (wookie proxy) and now it seems so useless... so I feel you some things just seem completely crap now, or at the very least need to be completely recontextualized strategically. Hope for the best with the future of legion, I do love this game and have played it sense the start so it would be a shame to see it end, but these new rules and their presentation haven't left me feeling confident with the future. Will have to see what kind of impressions everyone has after some serious playtesting and experimenting, and in that regard I also hope for the best.

Changes are good especially quality of models. I think once we have the anti changers leave we will be in a good spot the play groups in my city have noticed that generally the people that are being loud about the changes especially having to print cards are the people that we avoid playing with anyways

@@MatthewBreck Sorry if this is a bit of a rant, but I wanna say I don't think people being critical about rule changes/editions of a game is something to invalidate. A lot of folks (myself included) have been playing this game sense day 1 and loved the product that was given to us. I have told my fellow tabletop hobbyists for years now that Legion is one of the most solid games I have ever played, and over those years I have felt little need to even make the changes that they have... but I have still learned them and played/enjoyed the game. This is a lot more than that and is what I would consider an entirely new edition of the game. The comment originally made here was someone who played their army at a high tournament level and I would guess to get to that point they had to put a lot of effort into learning all the armies, metas, and the rules of the game. As such that's someone's opinion I especially appreciate to read, be it positive or negative in nature eithers fine! Especially if they can convey their reasoning clearly (which I think they did). The same extends to yours which is clearly a more positive outlook, which is why as I stated in the video I am open to some of the rules being presented, skeptical of others, and confused on a few. I want to play test the new rules and see how it feels before I entrench myself to strongly one way or another but I don't think discussing or sharing your impressions is something to be discredited. Having said all that I totally agree the new wave refresh look great, and I also think some of the new releases like Thrawn, Probe Droids, and even mounted characters seem interesting. I was a little bummed to see no AT-AT lol it felt like it would have been perfect with the point increase!!!!! Even if its only for non tournament play it would of been so cooool.... I was also sad to see environmental effects removed then essentially put back in for non tournament play as random planetary effects... BUT I also think this is really really really cool for people looking to play more casually or narratively, and it gives tonssss of awesome ideas for terrain to fit the theme of the planet/effects you use. Some of the combos could be goofy maybe even OP with certain armies, but I really think this is an idea that on certain themed boards could be so awesome. I also understand there are negative people out here especially nowadays trying to just bring on the hate for the sake of hating, and for whatever reason they even play the game despite being miserable with it (guessing these are the folks you had at your store), and I hope I have not come across like that. I am not trying to be all doom and gloom, and am keeping my eye on some of the new stuff, and also playing a game with the new rules soon, and also don't want legion to just die off tomorrow and no one will ever play or make another product for it ever again... At the very least if I don't enjoy the new rules I'll play the old ones and convert new product over to the old system to keep things fresh. Hopefully it won't come to that and legion still ends up being a really fun game. Sorry for the lengthy response but I appreciate when you folks give me your opinion and want you to know I am genuinely giving them thoughtful consideration.

agreed. I am still hopeful that if you take Ungrim it will give you some kind of special rule for running them as core/the 25% needed to make a list.. but this is obvs just my speculation and will have to see when the release finally drops! They also showed doom seekers during the adepticon reveal awhile back so I am also really hoping to get rules for them and maybe malakai

Sorry that is actually a somewhat redundant rule from larger scale Warhammer Fantasy, but it does still apply to Mordheim. Unless I am mistaken nothing that would take a leadership test in the game has a value less than 2, nor could it be reduced to that through campaign injuries. This means I would always pass a leadership test on double 1s and the same for double 6s would always fail. No leadership can be increased beyond 10 atleast according to the base games max characteristic chart.

I also had plenty of misplays, I remember my Boba had some exchanges with IG that went bad quick in our match lol next time I gotta hustle him to safety or something. Also next time we play I have to get some actually nice pictures of your army for the channel. awesome. Is there anything like a "Here are the appropriate size to use" or is it basically fine if we're using circles somewhere in the 25-40 range based on what looks fine or what the sculpt we're converting from came with

@@Crushanator1 yea basicly what you said, 25-40 depending on what the model is. I think 32 is the most popular for aesthetic reasons. Where 25mm puts you at a slight advantage for gameplay but im not even sure if its noticeable.

@@Crushanator1 at 4:25 I have the chart up for all the old official square bases. I personally feel like if you wanted to add an additional 5mm for these bases converting them over to circles that's totally fine, at this stage even adding 5mm for the square base sizes would probably be fine with majority of Mordheim players, alot of them (myself included) also play Old World which literally upped the base sizes of most miniatures by 5mm, and if someone wanted to play a game of Mordheim with me using their Old World minis I would never say no. I think the most important thing is just make sure your opponent/play group know what you're going with and try to stay consistent with the whole warband.

You are correct, they almost all passed the ward saves and I think it was on the 6+ ward save sense the scream has no strength value assigned to it. That damn lady of the lake!!!! I didn't notice until afterwards when making the video, but if I was a bit of a smarter general I would of had my necromancer near that banshee casting spirit leech, giving the grails an extra -2 Ld, and a few more of those lucky 6+ ward saves to pass! The bretonnians had their wizard on the opposite side of the battlefield, so I think I could have even cast it without them getting a chance at dispelling. I am fairly sure that's how it works unless I am missing a rule on modifiers (which I could be still learning a lot about the game). I made that same play against a chaos dwarf player a couple weeks ago (scream+spirit leech), and I managed to kill 5 maybe 6 Ironsworn with one scream! TBH I might have still been feeling the high of that game and been a little to reckless with her in this one lol.

Its important to emphasis this for all the other Old World Players because (as the original comment pointed out), you DO NEED A WIZARD TO RUN YOUR UNDEAD ARMIES.

But now you can't wear armor and cast on vampires (for some reason?) so I messed up on that lol, its a good thing I didn't get a single one of those spells off the entire game or I would have felt really bad about screwing over my opponent lololol

the vamp was a level 1 wizard that doesn't "count"? Sorry I made a comment about it later in the video, but I forgot he was a level 1 during the start because he was so outclassed by the empire battle wizard he didn't get a single spell off the entire game, other than I think 1 invocation but even that I might have sadly failed

I goofed up on that+ totally my fault.. I should have went back and edited the list when I realized it later in the battle report to make it a little more clear. I really didn't get a single spell off the entire battle so it got foolishly overlooked

@@camwardart In that case, your Vampire can't wear armor and use a shield. Though I'm sure your opponent didn't mind at all, just something to keep in mind for the future.

@UnlimitedAuthority that i had no idea about at all. in all editions i ever played of the game they could cast spells without any issue in armor. I really don't understand why they needed to change such a specific thing but that is interesting and changes quite abit to be honest.

Hey thanks for the comment and actually remembered this rule mid battle because of your post. Only problem was I was frantically looking though the 400 page rule book trying to reference the specific page # and couldn't find it at that moment lol but we solved it all shortly after.

that's really interesting, and tbh I never knew that about 6th beastmen. I played 6th back in the day quite a bit, but admittingly the GW I went to had little to no beastmen players and I never got their old army rulebook so I probs never would have known that if you hadn't made this comment. So thank you very much for the knowledge! And that's fair about lance formation giving an edge over chaos knights. My biggest beef was more so the logic+lore hyping up grail knights so much in the army book then comparing stat for stat them with chaos knights and feeling like they are "actually" the lesser unit. Which as your comment mentioned is somewhat flawed logic... grails have lance (and some other little things like living saints/blessing of lady/magic attack wepons etc) so I think I was probably just being dramatic lol and probs jelly of the cool factor + swagger that chaos knights have

Final battle right is close... Wood Elves on team Ghidorah are possibly the hardest hitting and fastest moving faction out of the lot. Will see if they turn the tide for Ghidorah this weekend!
