Yes pretty good, this was my first MSV day in a few years as I had a bad experience with one of their 'instructors' previously. No issues this time around other than rain for most of the day. Enjoy your day in July :)

Many thanks, get out there and have a go ;) It’s addictive but improves your riding. I am riding a 2013 Suzuki GSXR 1000 in this video. In terms of mirrors, you can leave them on, but you are advised to tape them up to avoid smashed glass on track and also to not focus on anything behind you, track riding is about looking forward. I overlay the data with RaceRender 3, using the video footage from GoPro cameras and data from my laptimer.

It’s a GoPro Max camera and a SpeedAngle v1 LapTimer which was great but no longer use, as I moved to Aim Solo 2.

Too much neutral throttle. Should be either on the throttle or on the brakes, far too much coasting sort that out and you’ll cut a lot from your time, & trust your tyres more.

The lowest left button is to cancel indicators / turn signals. I was a road rider for many years and developed a bad habit of cancelling my turn signals constantly to not give false information to other road users. I don't even realise i am doing it now and cant seem to stop it! I wish it was there was a more fun explanation like a boost button but sadly not!

Thanks for your comment. It’s a GoPro Max 360 camera, mounted on the fork yolks. No gimbal, just 360 levelling.

Get out there and enjoy it, no cars, road furniture or sped cameras. Just lots of leather clad petrolheads all together.

Thanks, it’s a GoPro Max on the front and a 10 on the rear. The GPS is coming from the lap timer and I merge the data and video together using Race Render.

Just started myself but I'm scared in case I spend too much money. So at the moment I'm running Michelin Road 6 tyres Which probably wont. last long. How do you mount the cam

@@waynebanthorpe it is an expensive hobby and costs are increasing all the time sadly. But you can have fun on any bike and any tyre. I use Ultimateaddons fork stem mount for the front camera

I have a terrible habit of cancelling my indicators from the years of road riding, it has always been a big fear of giving a car driver a false signal so it seems to be routed in my brain somewhere and I do it without even thinking about. It is only when I watch the footage back, I see how much I am fiddling! Thanks for the comment 😉

Yes I have rear footage, what bike were you on and was it Session 5? Camera wise I use a GoPro Max, GoPro 10 (both have GPS, but I also have a lap timer) and I also have a GoPro Session 4.

@@reescarpentry1 better than I expected, they are nice gang and pretty relaxed. It was very quiet though, there was only 6 per group (3 groups).

@@w0ffle there was only 30 in total on the Friday in pembrey don’t think Saturday was that busy either because they did 2 groups. I’ll try and get to the next one in llandow

:D No worries, I was in pain at that point and could hear some faster guys coming up so I just moved over and sulked! I have a cracked rib or two, it is painful but healing up, it flipping hurts though!

it is an Speedangle sold in the UK by R&G but there is a newer model available now (Apex). It has been rock solid and very easy to use but I am tempted to try an AIM Solo 2.

Thanks buddy, I am also a VW fan but bikes are more my love :) I’m getting better at Silverstone but on a bike it’s about confidence as much as rider skill in my humble opinion. There are guys and gals out there that can do 2:20 minute lap times on standard track days! I am still learning and trying to get fitter and lighter (I am 130kg!).

@@w0ffle Confidence is everything (especially on a bike) You can afford to take a lot more liberties in a car...And I'm guessing you don't trailer the bike there, so one 'off' and you are likely screwed...You are a braver man than I. Yep...the weight thing will be huge on a bike. I cut out two things, bread and cheese and went from 100kg to 88kg in double quick time. realised it was cheaper to lighten myself than lighten the car! Keep up the good work

​@@w0ffle Yep...a van with tools/spares is a good move, mine's trailered to the track in case of breakages....or if I bin it!

I don't think so at Silverstone, but other tracks allow it. Best to check with the circuit for official policy on it.

@@Bow-to-the-absurd Thanks, I am getting quickly slowly, the key is to do laps, follow faster riders and listen to the instructors, there are some guys out there I will never catch! All my cameras are GoPro the 360 is a Fusion (newer model is the Max), My front camera is a 7 Black (newer models are 8 or 9) and I use some old Session 4s for rear/side view. All audio is off the cameras and this video is the 360 Fusion only, no advanced editing or processing, just using the standard GoPro free software :) If you need further info, let me know and I can talk you through it.

@@w0ffle I did the ron haslam experience at donington last year First time ever on track, bike I've never ridden before on tyres I've never used before, following the instructor got me going much faster than I thought I could within just a few Laps, amazing few hours. Shame it's gone now.

@@Bow-to-the-absurd Nice, I have not done any proper tuition but Leon Haslam was at one of the MSV days I did 2 years ago and he did a classroom session which was very useful, really nice guy also.

To be honest, I am not sure, there were a few tumbles that day of various bikes and riders!

Yes, on the DRZ. I didn’t start off too well. Low sided in the first session but the bike was ok. My shoulder and ego hurt quite a bit though 🤣

@@checkmate9912 you were flying though, I was gutted to see a 400cc fly past lol, but it is the rider not the bike. Get a camera on your bike so I can learn from you.
