Thank you, it could be just a badly fitted windscreen, I know of a few vans that have had to have the windscreen removed just to be sealed in again because it leaked

@@TwiggsT4 Yeah cool. I may do the insurance route like you. Mine has a chip on drivers vision so it maybe better to pay that. Been quoted £150 to take out the existing and reseal but that does not include rust treatment. Is it easy enough to put the rubber seal back on? At least that way I can see what I'm up against.

@jimkennedy7784 usually the rubber seal is fitted to the windscreen then the windscreen installed, the bonding sealer usually squeezes out and also seals in the rubber seal along with the windscreen so taking it off and refitting it may not be possible.

A body cut is cheaper, volks magic is where we get our body cuts from at dream day campers, however a sliding door step and sill from steel wizards is over £500 😮

hi twiggs.ive got no 5th and reverse gear on my t4 2.5tdi 99 model.i know changed engine on yours.i have changed gear linkage before for 2nd hand one.its had 2nd hand gearbox before i’ve got receipt off previous owner.its on 350000 mile now.if its not linkage adjustment it seems gearbox it tricky to get out needing move engine forward etc i heard.u know anything about that?hope to get 2nd hand gearbox off guy near me who got me low miles spare engine i got down garden .cheers.steve

@@stevemcgowan3017yes one of the first videos on this white van was removing the gearbox to replace the dmf and clutch etc. it took 2 days and I had assistance with the lifting of the box. I would put in new bushes and definitely check the ones above the gearbox. I would personally rather have the gearbox reconditioned at least that way you’d know the box is good. I’ve brought “perfect working” gearboxes in the past and they’ve been knackered

I’m out of the larger rubber mounts, recently I’ve been using Brickwerks and been getting the standard mounts, they’re good enough when they’re new and not 20 years old

Being so close to Santa pod you must get annoyed with all the extra traffic and boy racers haha. I wish you well and hope your t4 goes to another caring family and by the sounds of it they will be getting a decent van.
