    No offence intended to any of Menner's other guests, but I much prefer the chemistry between Menners and other "pundits" such as Gav, as opposed to the cricket players that have been appearing as his off-siders since the departure of Paul"the summer game" Dennet of loving memory. If we can't have Paul objecting to Mad Menner's, let's have Gav on regularly as Menners' foil/offsider. He is very knowledgable and has his own original insights and a functioning vocabulary!

      I do enjoy the show. It's a bit of a tough one to judge against the guest. The show is part interview show part Menners monologue. There might have been 2 opportunities for Bayz to chime in that was missed but Menners didn't lead into the "pause" with a question. Which, due to the interview style upto that point, is understandable. Given Menners is supremely comfortable with the podcast thing (also having notes and stuff he goes through) and Bayz is just an occasional guest the 70/30 split of Menners talking vs someone else talking is probably fair.

    England can still qualify for champions trophy in 2025 as since it’s in Pakistan, no way India will go there to play so England can replace them as long they finish 8th or 9th. Of course westerners will start shouting on top of their voice criticising India but why should India play in a country when their Rangers force bombarded India territory for 7 hours yesterday targeting civilians n BSF . Westerners can boycott any competition including Olympics and it’s all right but if India does it, it’s wrong.

    Good discussion, I've no doubt this lad knows his stuff about cricket. Maybe just needs to get used to the more conversational nature of the show, "not needing to quote your sources" per say. :) I'm enjoying more content appearing on the channel on this platform, I don't extend often outside the googleverse platform.

    Hey Menners, re just tacking the boundary on to the batters score at the end of the over - you didn't account for the batsman may have only run a single or a 3. A boundary should mean they would be back on strike. But you may also have been speaking specifically to the example given where they ran 4? (as unlikely as that seems on indian grounds) :)

    Post series, it’s interesting that England are rabidly self congratulating for a drawn home series, whilst Australia are self reflecting on mistakes made. It highlights the difference in standards between the countries.

  • @MyPaddy2011
    @MyPaddy2011 Před 11 měsíci

    Delusional. No! They don't win that game 8 times out of 10. They loose it one time out of one. Yes, the arrogance and insults are breathtaking. Taking three injured players into a war with Australia for the Ashes worked perfectly for a rabble of aspiring golfers wishing to qualify for an entertainment position with Cirque de Soleil. This is not test cricket. It's bog standard British comedy. I've been laughing ever since the win. Just because you've managed to get a token Pomm for the pod, shouldn't mean you need to polish his boots. Dennett, your sycophancy is transparently vomitable. England have shown enough in the first test to back Australia for five zip. England have so many deep rooted problems they will float to the surface before the end of the series. You have no idea. Uzzi controlled the pace of this match from the time he took guard on the first day and could have pulled the trigger at any time. I agree with Menners.

    Australia have the best team in the world. Great cricketers; best fast bowler in Cummins, best off spinner in Lyon and the strongest batting order. The only way England can possibly compete with Australia is to attack Australia with the bat; however, England do not help themselves by throwing their wickets away when they’re in. In terms of England’s bowling it is weak. Broad apart England can’t compete with Australia with the ball. Stokes is not 100% fit to bowl which seriously disables England. Plus Stokes gets himself out by batting recklessly. Everything has to come off for England to win this series against a superior Australia. England have to play for the win in every instance which means Wood comes into the side and England play the young leg spinner Rehan Ahmed.

    • @SilentHotdog28
      @SilentHotdog28 Před 11 měsíci

      Ali may not be able to bowl at 100% in the next test (if he plays) If Australia make England bowl for 200+ overs again, then England might be in trouble for match 3.

  • @mohammad-A927
    @mohammad-A927 Před 11 měsíci

    That was a dead wicket England were so brave on 😅 don't forget Bazball will have to play some swing and bounce in South Africa New Zealand and Australia one day. Stop acting like there werent players like Brian Lara and Sanath Jayasuria who invented all the bazball tactics long time ago

    Funny how England orders doctored flat pitches and after they lose England fast bowlers whinge about the flat wicket they ordered. Englang won the toss and batted on their made to order pitch, they had the best of the conditions and Bozoball failed...even though Labuschagne, Smith, Head and Warner barely contributed. My contention with Bozoball is if you need flat pitches you skew the balance between bat and ball and this cannot be good for the game. It is also likey to fail on anything but a flat pitch.

    Thank you Paul, 100% agree. The Channel 9 app is horrendous, can’t fast forward or rewind like every other app (CZcams, Kayo, Optus sports, Netflix, Amazon, etc.), 10-15 seconds at a time back or forward. Can’t even pause! It’s fucking terrible. Also ads after every over, sometimes even missing the play. Why is this not on Foxtel, at least they show you all the action. And have much better commentators. 🤷‍♂️

  • @festiveboi6753
    @festiveboi6753 Před 11 měsíci

    Find it funny that one of the English blokes said that Australia was 9.5 to be beat England. That is not even close to true! We didn't have Marnus fire... we didn't have Smith fire... and we didn't have Warner do much of anything. And we still won. Australia were basically a '6' or '7', and we still beat England.

  • @stephenwalton1234

    Have you three ever played cricket to any level, the arrogance of either of you three to criticise the tactics of the Australian and the English teams. Michael Clarke was doing this years ago.... for the dumbarses in the peanut gallery..... it's not fcuking new.... 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

  • @stevenp2309
    @stevenp2309 Před 11 měsíci

    Eng batted first on a featherbed. They were 5/170...8/350. Stokes flashed on 1. Bairstow and Ali ran past ones.... They quite obviously weren't content just taking the singles on offer. Australia know that after all this talk English batsmen won't be content taking the singles as the buzz about the side is because of the entertainment they provide. Knocking singles to deep point for a 50 won't get u the headlines. Eng now must keep playing ridiculous shots to justify their own buzz. Australia did well to identify that and restrict the damage until they run past one

    brits lose because they make too many mistakes,dropped catches, missed stumpings, selecting injured players , selecting players with no miles in their legs . selecting 2nd best keeper. . reckless bazball scoring. aussies pick form players, make fewer mistakes and take catches. thats the formula/ we will win ashes 3 -1 ,
