Currently going through a not so pleasant experience, with a dealership in Salt Lake City. Purchased our Class A, over a week ago and have not seen it...emailing the sales rep. and all I'm getting is excuses, there was an apparently a "Recall" on Girard Awnings. But have not found any such recalls. Just a little frustrating.

I want to install one of these on our travel trailer the one question I have is where you mount the track on the side of the camper/rv where do the screws go into ? Studs or do you just rely on the material of the side of the camper to screw into? Wasn’t sure if there was a lot of pull on the awning.

Very good video. My new 2024 Alliance Paradigm slide out covers were installed by the dealer. After 6 weeks, the fabric pulled away from the spline. It appears they used a staple, one at each end to fasten the fabric to the spline. I like the way you did it using two screws. Thanks for the video. Keep them coming.

Would be nice if they just started making the campers all come with a outdoor kitchen and not those pullouts that they call a outdoor kitchen! Alot of us keep asking for Outdoor Kitchens and they just dont do it! Nice job on your remodel of your new RV.

Great video. Use of a drill instead of impact driver is exactly right. I also set the ratcheting setting to a low number to avoid overdriving the screws so no holes get stripped. Also, flaring and de-burring the end of the wall channel and lubing the interior of it will let the fabric slide in easily and avoid any snagging or tearing during installation.

I have a similar camera that mounts to my mirror and this would be an excellent replacement. However, is there a stereo port on the top to connect a wired camera from your truck bumper? Not for viewing at the same time obviously. I already have a camera connected to my bumper so it would work perfectly if it has that port.

I bought a camper and the slides don’t have the protection, what can I do? Where do I buy them or what else can I replace them with?

Cheaper to diy than going to dealer or hiring someone. I’m a single female senior and like knowing what to do.❤

Do one on a smaller trailer like a 25 foot , everyone does large trailers

I removed these walls to examine doing this on my 390MP, however what I'm missing from your video is how the air flow / return from the vent under the stairs reaches the furnace in this configuration? Seems like making that angled wall a 90° corner would block the cold air return...?

I don't want to drill holes in my camper but if I pay the $250 an hour labor at a shop they're gonna drill holes anyway LoL.

I have been wanting to add a slide out awning to my TT but really didn't have any idea how easy or hard it was to do myself. Obviously having a dealer do it will cost me $$$$$. So, of I went to CZcams to fine a video on the installation. Behold! Yours is the first one that I found. It is very well done and very informative. You make this look pretty easy. I am very good with handyman tasks and I now know that I can do this installation myself. Thanks for the great video and keep up the good work.

Awesome video! Thank you! This gives us confidence to definitely do this ourselves. QUESTION for you......I notice that the topper is actually angling toward the RV when the slide is out. Should it angle away from the RV when the slide is out? Do the brackets that are attached to the slide need to be lower? Or is that impossible because of the frame....so it is what it is? It seems counterproductive to have it angle toward the RV.

I added side and back up lights on my trailer. Huge difference! The center pin on your 7 pin plug is your backup wire. The wire is already in your trailer electrical box on the frame. It’s a yellow loose wire that will be capped off. Easy set up. I went one step further and put a 2 way switch so not only do the backup lights come on when I put the truck in reverse, I can turn the lights on from the trailer batteries when the truck is disconnected. This helps to see all hook up areas, sewer, water, etc. The switch also disconnects both. We boondock a lot where neighbors aren’t a issue most of the time.

Just came back from Helen. Wanted to let you know we were very disappointed with Hearthside Cabins and Camping. We stayed there because we came across your video suggesting this place when making our plans. Yes Helen was great, the town was great, the food was great, but the campground was a big disappointment. Yes it was small but the layout is awful. It's ONE WAY IN AND THE SAME WAY TO GET OUT. The road is NARROW and people with large 5th wheels really had a hard time. We have a SMALL 20 foot trailer and it was hard for us to maneuver down that road and into our site. And the sites were disappointing. Right behind where you park your trailer is a CLIFF so you have to be sure you don't go back too far. And in front of the spot is a LOT of ROCKS and then there is a main road right in front of you with cars zooming by so you really can't walk anywhere. I have 2 little dogs and it was hard to walk them because of all the rocks on the narrow road where you are parked. And like I said, then you have the cliff behind you and the street in front of you. Our highlight was watching people navigate their big rigs into their spots. Lots of forward and backward motion because you just don't have space because you are on this skinny entrance road. It took them a LONG TIME to park. Yes it was only a mile away from town but the road to take out of there was hilly and dark and very narrow. This was actually the worse campground we ever stayed at. We were so disappointed we forfeited the 3rd night stay and left. Also, there is no office on premises and the owner never answers the phone. Very very hard to get in touch with them. Sadly, we won't be back. I enjoyed your you tube and yes Helen is fun, but I have to disagree with that campground. Come to find out there were others which were better. Just wanted to let others know before they make the mistake we did.
