Fascinated to see this series. I just sat my first course with Vipassana. I've been out for one day, and I already think I may leave the technique behind. I got incredibly bored the last 2 days of the course. I want to practice meditation, and I want to do something that doesn't feel like a drag. Anyway, your videos helped me prepare for the course, so thank you.

My 4th course sucked as well. Almost didn't do the 5th one in which I had a major breakthrough and began to really enjoy the courses ever since. I was also finally inspired to start serving which has exceeded my expectations and benefited me greatly.

Trading Buddha's teaching for someone who is considered as a fraud and lies on his diplomas is quite sad to me. (just my personal opinion) I dont doubt that other meditations are "more comfortable" but maybe that is simply a try to escape from ourselves. I wish you of course the very best and may you be happy and free.
Thank you so much for this series. I watched all 6 of the videos. I am very interested in doing a 10 day Vipassana course. Your information was very helpful! I have a couple of questions. Are any of the meditations guided? Or do they just say ok now it's time to meditate? Are the discourse videos easy to understand? I sometimes have trouble understanding people with an accent. I even use subtitles when watching regular English movies. Are there subtitles on the discourse videos?
Hi Cheryl, thank you for watching! All of the meditations are guided. Goenka talks you through each step so that you know exactly what you're supposed to be doing. The discourse videos are not subtitled. In the beginning, I had some challenges with understanding all of the words, but after a few days I had grown accustomed to his accent, so it ended up working out. But I'd say that you can get ahead of the learning curve in this regard by watching videos of S.N. Goenka on CZcams where he's being interviewed or giving speeches, and then you'll get used to his accent before you start your course.

I plan on doing a series of videos about Dr Joe Dispenza's meditations, but hadn't thought of comparing them to Vipassana. I'll add that to my list of videos to make. It may not happen for a while, though, so please subscribe to make sure you don't miss it, and forgive the shameless promotion of my own channel :)
