💀💀💀 I think the dq was 72711P accidentally descoring when they weren’t double zoned, Hailstorm also had that issue in dome so they were calling it a lot at worlds.
do you guys use odom?
Yes, we use two-wheel odometry (one horizontal, one vertical wheel) with rotation sensor, and we use inertial sensor to replace the functionality of the second horizontal wheel.

did you guys use odom or just pid and if odom, how many wheels
We use two wheel odometry (one forward, one sideways) with rotation sensors for position tracking. Then we use PID with LemLib for movement.

Yes, it still uses arcs for calculating distance. Instead of using 2 forward wheels we use an inertial sensor. Also we don’t use the drivetrain wheels in our calculations.

Great job! I feel the auton is a little inefficient, do the hooks struggle if the robot is moving while intaking? Otherwise this is a really smooth skills run, congrats on 1st in the world!
Thank you! Basically, we added a lot of wait time because the rings sometimes fly out if we are intaking while moving fast. Without the wait time, we would have additional seconds to do other scoring. But currently, our theoretical max is 55 points, and we programmed it for 51 points, so we didn’t see a point to making it more efficient.

what's the outer diameter of the custom spacers you guys used for the drivetrain, and is it legal?
we use Off-White Nylon Unthreaded Spacers, 1/4" OD from McMaster-Carr. they are legal

How did you guys make sure the wheels are centered on the screws? Did you just use 3 lock nuts, or did you use a retainer?
To center the screw we use bearing flats on the inner side and motor inserts on the outer side. We use brass inserts for wheels. Check the drivebase explanation video.

what do you guys use as far as code, moter encoder odom, PID, Ez template, or are you using your own PID template
We mainly just use PID. The JAR template has a good structure and shows a good way of implementing this in your code.

We laser cut some parts and hand cut others, then used sander.
