Philippines vs USA | The Worst Things — Province Vlog
Province vlog time, also a best and worst video comparing the United States and the Philippines. We're in Siquijor today and besides swimming, laundry and beach life, let's get into trouble. Let's discuss differences between these two countries. What do you think? I'll have some questions during the video about finances, cost of living, quality of life and more. I put some statistics and information windows during the video describing the good and bad things about each country and more. Let me know what you think!

My Life Changed | 6 Months in the Philippines
zhlédnutí 27KPřed rokem
Alright six months in, what's happened. Let's talk about money, how I'm (trying) to survive, what's working and what's not. Leaving the United States was one of the hardest things I've done. I left friends and family behind to try and find something 'more' than what was in my small town I lived in. The Philippines had more to offer me than other countries. From wanting to learn the language, to...
Why I Left the United States for the Philippines
zhlédnutí 181KPřed rokem
It's been a great six months in the Philippines! After deciding to leave the United States, I had a lot of challenges: leaving my job, finding online work, and finding out how to budget my money. The first few months were hard, but as time passed things got easier. In this video, I talk about the United States, money, real estate, the world today and more. Why I chose to live in the Philippines...
CHEAP RENT $30 Per MONTH on the OCEAN | Cost of living SIQUIJOR Philippines 🇵🇭
zhlédnutí 103KPřed rokem
Hey everybody, we are somewhere new! We are in Siquijor and found a small home in a quiet part of the island. Away from the tourists and expensive hotels, we found one for the price of $1 a day. Super close to a secret beach and on the ocean we feel like we've hit the jackpot! We wanted to try something new and maybe show viewers or people interested the real province life and how people live h...
I Left the US for BOXING in the PHILIPPINES

Hi, I'm Devan. I left the United States to live and train in the Philippines. I left my 9-5 job and started working online instead. I came to the Philippines because all of my hobbies are popular here. Billiards, boxing, diving. I have one month of boxing training but I've done wrestling and kickboxing in the past. I've been here since October and have been loving it. I've been studying the lan...
The Brownout Capital of the Philippines 🇵🇭 (Mindoro)
zhlédnutí 2,5KPřed rokem
The Philippines has over 7000 islands, and Mindoro is my favorite. But, there's issues here, daily brownouts where you lose electricity for hours at a time. Maybe this is why tourists don't come here often, but the local people are the most kind and generous people I've met since moving to the Philippines. The beaches here are not crowded! Blue water, white sand beaches everywhere, Mindoro is a...

After completing the zipline, you'll take a boat ride back to the mainland before returning to the park. This exciting and slightly scary e...

In this vlog today we show you White Island in San Jose Mindoro, Philippines. Making friends is easy here. Day one in San Jose we were invited to White Island for a fun day of eating, diving and meeting new people. Jen and I have been thinking about doing something like this on our next visit so that I can get an idea what it is like to live in the provinces. I must say it looks like everything is open In that little hut. I don't think I would be comfortable with that. The Philippines is . Mostly safe with Lovely helpful people but there are bad elements there too.

    I mean there is divisiveness there too. But you're less involved. So, for you, it's better to be there. Filpinos might find US less divisive because they're not so involved in politics. And it's not necessarily you. It's the people around you expect you to take a stand, pro or against, a position in the US. In the Philippines, no one expects whether you are a pro BBM or PRD. Same with Filipinos in the US, no one will ask if they're Democrat or Republican. I guess since you are a foreigner, it's not expected from you. So, enjoy your stay. Find a wife. Buy a land. Build a house. Have kids. Go to church. Be kind...God bless you brother. Enjoy the beaches, the food, and everything Philippines has to offer you.

    Imagine if you had a pension from the US for life for $2K at least every month, that amount of money is a lot in the Philippines. Can give you a comfortable retirement with plenty of food, booze, and even women. Just be careful not to get scammed. Happens all the time. But majority are happy. Esp if you speak English, you are in paradise, because they understand you!

    OK so I have been here for 2 months now. I am in the Bicol Region. People have been pretty nice to me but not very many English speaking people in this area. Trying to generate income online has been challenging to say the least. I have substantial savings but wish I had my online income going BEFORE I came over here. Huge mistake on my part.

    Okay, one more thing. You're obviously very smart and have done your research. What do you think about Guatemala? hey Lisa, about Guatemala and Central America; they are definitely more dangerous than a country like the Philippines or Thailand. I didn't want to stress my family or friends worrying about me with some of the political unrest and corruption that can happen in Central America. Would love to go one day

    @LisaBoulders Před 3 měsíci

    So I just got to the end of your video and would like to respond to some of your questions/thoughts. I think the problem here (in US) is too big to solve maybe. People are NOT HAPPY. Everyone is so stressed out all the time and upset. I'm dreading election season honestly because it's just going to get worse. There's no reason for any of this. No reason. People should be nice to each other, grow their own food, do things they enjoy...it's not like that here at all and I'm tired of it. There is a real obsession with material things. So, yes, people have "stuff" but it's not making them happy. When did it become normal for someone to spend more money on a car than they make in a year? This is just one example. And what's with the huge houses with little tiny yards? The houses are all generic and look the same. It's like every person is a robot. You slave all day and then go home and watch Netflix. There's no room or time or freedom or space for individuality, developing your passions and interests, for being a person, for kindness. The US is terrible. I don't know why so many people are trying to get past the border.

    • @KuyaDevan
      @KuyaDevan Před 3 měsíci

      The more you look into the details of all these things you've mentioned, the more shallow the society appears. I made myself miserable overthinking and focusing on all of these things! Once I got out of the US and living in different countries I realized quickly none of it matters. Gloom and doom videos/articles? No one cares about them. Problems in the US? No one cares about them outside of the US. Election season? Not even a thought for anyone I have been living around(currently living in Thailand) Appreciate you sharing your thoughts!

    Thank you for your honesty. I subscribed and am looking forward to more content. I am 52 years old. Live in rural Central New York. Looking for places to move that are cheaper, more relaxed, less rules, less oversight, happier people, ... I'm building a "passive income" business. I'm actually working hard so it's not passive right now. Complications right now are that my husband and I have three dogs and that I LOVE gardening. So wherever we go I must be able to garden and grow our own food. How is the soil in the Philippines? Are people growing fruits in their yards? Have you seen any avid gardeners during your travels? Do you know anyone that has brought their dog(s) with them when they moved?

    • @KuyaDevan
      @KuyaDevan Před 3 měsíci

      Depending on where you live in the Philippines, amazing. I'm from the East Coast as well and the gardening in the Philippines is top-tier compared to where we're from. Can definitely bring pets/dogs. I believe you may need to have papers saying they have a certain vaccine or something to prevent local animals from contracting diseases. Many avid gardeners, unbelievable memories running through giant fields of produce with locals. Send me an email if you want to talk more would be happy to chat away, Devan

    Its good to know that there is a shoe string budget options out here should times get too rough. I pay 540 a month right now for a Condo in Metro Manila. If I absolutely had too, I would rent a cheaper option. But I mean that place does not appear comfortable at all bud. I almost feel like an Army tent would be more luxurious than the place you showed us. But it's all good, like I said I would do the same if I needed to re budget myself.

    learning a new language is actually beneficial for your brain. I'm filipino and my native language is bisaya(cebuano). English and tagalog are my 2nd and third language. I think my english is better than my tagalog. I'm using Duolingo to learn a 4th language (spanish) because I plan to move to South America in the future.
