Can i know the name of the professor?
Iurii Dyatlov
It is great to me that Florence continues to cultivate art to this day.
Russian academies also use methods based on how to see, at least they used to. Much attention was paid to integral vision, integrity of perception. It’s not entirely correct to reduce everything to two: sight-size and constructive method. In the same Russian academies, and in many others, different methods are used. Artists such as Rembrandt, Velazquez, Vermeer, Monet, Repin - what methods did they use in their works? It is unlikely that Monet set the canvas according to the size of nature, but he certainly did not think much about the 3d construction. And even Repin used impressionist methods in his works. The sight-size method is not perfect; it bills itself as impressionistic, but that has little connection. The constructive method, like sight-size, is one of the many ways of training for an artist. In my opinion, you need to use everything in combination, but also not forget that this is just training and exercise, and everything is not limited to this, that it is not necessary to work like this in a non-educational process.
I’m a constructive method guy myself
Good explanation. I think its good to learn both. I think even a lot of illustrators where you would draw from imagination, have had training in both.
The biggest difference between constructive method and sight-size is the end goal of learning process that one pursues. If one’s goal is to create perfect hyper-realistic images that look like a photo, then sight-size is a perfectly suitable method, because it provides those kind of visual results. Meanwhile, if your ambition as an artist is greater, for example working in illustration, design or character creation for games, visual storytelling for film industry, commissions for compositions etc. than you might want to take in consideration truly understanding how the form of anything is built. You may want to know how to work with proportions from any angle and any place in relation to the model or your set-up, how to understand the influence of perspective, how to build a shape from scratch creating a 3D image, working with volume. Constructive method is certainly a more challenging and time consuming approach in learning, since it pushes you to constantly analyze (and not copy) and to look at objects and models almost from an engineering point of view, deeply understanding the anatomy of all elements. It is a method that arms you with knowledge and capacity to draw and paint from your imagination. With this approach you are not dependent on a specific set-up but instead you understand what lies underneath any form. Your model serves you for observation and inspiration, but it is not your absolute necessity or dependency. You recognize the structure and forms in them that you already know and understand.
Amazing ❤
Very detailed of the drawings. I'm learning a lot n exciting. U make art fun , I'm a stone carver n I learn what I'm doing wrong cos I didn't draw it the way it's supposed to look. Thank u for making me happy 😊
i want learn you sir ❤
Very useful and well-explained, thank you!

Hello Mam/r. Hiw much the course be would cost?😊
This teacher is russian?
Amazing. Thank you so much
What a fantastic video. I immediately subscribed to your site. I have had trouble with drawing the nose and your video was so full of knowledge that I watched over again several times and saved it to my own list. I will put it into practice today with my portrait studies. A sincere thank you.
The best instructions I ever found. These are better than practicing Charles Bargue's plates. I will practice this many times.
Who is he teacher?

That was some of the best instructional video I have seen! This is very much helped me to visualize the 3D space and what's going on wonderful
Glad it helped!
So very helpful! I am a beginner and you presented the information clearly, even I was able to follow and apply it! ❤ thank you!!
❤ ❤😊
Ty so much
Benefits to understanding both but Constructive for the win in my books. I don't believe one can fully experience the bliss of drawing until they can create from imagination directly onto paper. The way in which we combine methods can produce a style. Thank you for the video.
Thank you for posting! Love Andrew's painting. Hope to see more :)
❤
Impressive. Thank you for sharing.
