The EEB is Europe’s largest network of environmental citizens' organisations. We bring together over 160 civil society organisations from more than 35 European countries with a combined membership of an estimated 30 million individual members and supporters.
The EEB stands for social and environmental justice, participatory democracy and sustainability. We promote the principles of prevention, precaution and polluters’ accountability, and seek systemic change for our current economic model. For over 40 years, the EEB has been the voice of its members and environmentally concerned citizens, leading the fight for a strong environmental and sustainability policy inside the EU and at the global level.

SO..WHAT’S THE PLAN? The document that should guide the EU institutions’ work in the next 5 years is being finalised as we speak. And coming from the highest political level, it bears significant weight in guiding the EU Commission during the brand-new mandate. But so far, the leaked draft plan lacks any meaningful reference to tackling the triple nature, biodiversity and pollution crisis. That doesn’t only make little sense - considering that Europe is the world’s fastest warming continent - it also doesn’t reflect what EU citizens want: 84% agree that we need environmental action on the EU level to protect the environment in their country.
IT IS URGENT - Despite the urgency, decision makers have not yet done enough. Environment, nature protection, nature restoration, zero pollution, biodiversity, and climate action must be top priorities. We need policies that advance social and environmental justice, and this must be explicitly reflected in the EU's long-term political priorities. The current leaked drafts are not good enough!
THE SOLUTION - The European Pact for the Future, a new deal for a one-planet economy, is a practical plan of what the next legislative cycle should do. A growing number of people, organisations and businesses endorse this vision - not only to stay within the boundaries of our planet, but also to bring back hope and give a voice to the most vulnerable and those that will live on our planet tomorrow. Eu ganho roupas duas vezes por ano, uma no meu aniversário que é em Setembro e outa no natal que acho mais fácil de me dar presente, mas essas roupas eu uso o ano inteiro e outros anos que passam, eu tenho três saias lindas que amo muito elas compradas pelo meu pai nos natais de 2020, 2021 e 2022 uso elas direto porquê são de boa qualidade e são lindas, tem o fato também que tenho mãe e avó paterna costureira e as duas vivem fazendo saias para mim que uso bastante, eu não sou de jogar roupa fora porquê sou muito apegada com elas , vestido só compro quando tem uma festa muito importante , um casamento ou uma formatura, o último vestido que comprei foi pela internet e foi para a formatura da minha irmã que aconteceu em Fevereiro desse ano, vestido lindíssimo,bem rodado do jeito que eu gosto e de excelente qualidade, tenho ele até hoje no meu guarda roupas, não largo do jeito nem um, vamos cuidar do nosso planeta pessoal,antes que seja tarde demais 😭😭😭😭😭

My mother told me that when she was young, her mom mended cloths over and over, resized them to make them fit someone else in the family. Then after that, all clothing was kept in the home until a traveling rug maker would come to the house. She would stay a day or two. She would take the worn out clothing and weave rugs for the family. She made a small wage, got room and board for those few days and then move on to another household. Things were different in the old days, very little was ever wasted. Shopping for clothing was not a "hobby" as it is today.

Aqui em casa doamos e recebemos tbm doações(lógico que são peças que pode se usar,boas,as mt velha usamos como panos de chão,corto pedaços e uso como paninhos para pia e limpar fogão. Tudo lavo com detergente e cloro.Ficam limpos e úteis😊fica a dica.
A minha mãe faz...colchas de retalhos e fuxico lindas e duradouras eu tenho algumas as vizinhas dela compram por um valor baixo. Mas é melhor pois se tem um reaproveitamento mt bom.

I have one top that I have had for over 20 years, no joke, still looks good and another couple I can’t bring myself to get rid of. And I’m a girl, woman. So, yes, I agree we need to think before we buy, are we meeting a need or a want. I’ve lost 20 pounds in the last year and still haven’t bought a new pair of jeans/trousers or skirt , just tightened the belt. It sickens me to think that people are living in filth and we caused it. Capitalism will never do the right thing and “help” clean up their mess or take any responsibility. So, like that one gent who said a bunch of them went around cleaning up the water/river only later to return to find it all mucked up again. Maybe it’s our turn. Thank you for the video, what an eye opener.
