    I was always told as a kid that it was supposed to be a"Meteorite".It certainly looked like it could have been a Meteorite from Space.Hpwever,it's actually just a big piece of Iron Ore left over from the 1884 World's Fair in New Orleans,Louisiana,USA,and it was left here after the fair ended,

    Well I wrote a book on the Columns Hotel, not published yet. As I was the one who BUILT the bar in Nov.-Dec. 1980 I could tell you what is and what isn't original. The ceiling in the bar I uncovered after 60 years it being hidden behind a drop plaster and lathe ceiling. The columns in the double parlor (ball room) I discovered/uncovered as well. Since you did thus video it was SOLD. Dec. 5th 2019
