Truthfully, it depends on the location. I will say, this house is located in a highly desirable area of Austin and utilized high quality materials. It sold for several million. If you were to pick up the property and drop it somewhere further outside of town you could probably get it for quite a bit less. It’s hard to give you an exact number since I cannot disclose price, but as a baseline, it would cost you at least a couple million. Are you looking to buy something?

@@LozanoLiving It's a nice house, don't get me wrong. I just don't think it's a masterpiece when it comes to design, although it seems like the build quality is higher than usual for the US. I plan to take this channel global some day and hope to focus solely on true architectural masterpieces around the world. Unfortunately, I’m a recent college graduate working on establishing a career where I can afford to do that. I appreciate the comment! While I don’t think that thoughtful design makes a house any less affordable (I believe it has more to do with consideration and intentionality than lavish materials), I was referring more to spec houses in the luxury arena. At least in Austin, I see a lot of spec homes more expensive than this one that were obviously designed with solely profit in mind

Very well asked question! I was asking myself that same thing in my head within the first 20 seconds of this video (and may not have been as succinct as you). I totally get the inverse thought too though, the cookie cutter style is obviously very uninspiring. The best bet is to find some kind of balance between the two.

This affordability question is half-baked. There is plenty of bad taste out there that cost way too much. Poor design can also be expensive. GCs and other contractors often cheap out and gouge. I can build an absolutely inspiring home that is 100x better than so much of the expensive garbage out there, for $500k.

Truly. A level of intentionality I wish more spec houses had. It was inspiring to tour and even more inspiring knowing that it sold before ever even hitting the market. It gives me hope that we can design better and the money will follow, as opposed to designing strictly to maximize profit
