Was this supposed to be a celebration of Hitchcock or a personal bashing of the late director ? Remember this is the same woman who called Hitchcock a "fat pig" in front of the whole set on mamie. Now spends 15 minutes explaining victimhood. While I agree Hitchcock's supposive behavior toward her was not acceptable, he risked everything pulling a no name actor from a TV commercial, putting her in a starring role. She basically owes all her fame to this guy. Doesn't make it right what she accused Hitchcock of doing but her tell all book was the first clue of retaliation in the form of money and spite.

That's so funny he'd mention the chocolate vending machine. Whenever I talked to my friends about this film I'd say the only truly unbelievable thing about it was that the vending machine was actually working. I remember the early 80s London and it was a shithole , everything was smashed up and broken.

RIP Roger. It’s amazing how, at that age, he is so deliberate and well spoken. He never stumbles over words, never uses filler words like “um” or “uh”, and doesn’t even have to stop and remember any of what he’s talking about. His memory is so vivid and he remembers the name of all his collaborators from half a century ago.

Great movie. I saw it today, trying somehow to honor Paul Auster. The script is so good that you realize it was written by a master. And now having the chance to listen about the genesis of how Paul got involved in the film, about the original Christmas story, the creative process together with the movie director, the involvement of Robert Altman. Hell I love CZcams for having all this available just instantly. It is a complete pleasure and learning. Thank you!

Peter Fonda is one of those actors who gets better and better with the passing of the years. Check out “Ulee’s Gold” for a fine, understated but in the end satisfying performance. Even better is 1999’s “The Limey,” one of the most enjoyable revenge films ever - way ahead of the current crop from Denzel and Keanu. Stamp engages the audience immediately as a man whose amiable veneer barely covers the danger he emanates. In an Oscar-worthy character role, Peter Fonda plays a retired record industry executive whose recollections of the 60s peace and love generation resonate so deeply with this ex-flower child. If Fonda intrigues you, a must-see.

I have NO malice against her and liked her in the Birds & Marnie.... She discussed many, many, many, many times about this exclusive $500 wkly contract she signed. Her career stalled b/c Hitchcock would not allow her to work for another studio since she would not entertain him sexually. I take her tale with a grain of salt b/c how/why would she be dumb enough to sign a contract w/o legal representation. The contract was too egregious to be enforceable. It did not account for inflation, it had NO end date, it contained NO allowances (Hitchcock would star her in a min of 1 pic per year at a Salary of X). If she had legal representation, she could claim misrepresentation. There is NO entertainment attorney on the planet that would have allowed her to sign such an egregious contract!!!
