An actual job will always beat making nothing videos.
To be honest, Traxion GG was actually good to watch. It was definitely missed when MSG shut the brand down.
Massive thank you to you too for being in this space and doing what you do. Been watching your videos from early days and appreciate all of them Good luck with your continuing adventures. You and Race Anywhere are awesome 💪🏻😎
Um.... 😍 I will be in touch! Funnily enough I've tried reaching out to you and to them in the past about this exact thing! Haha
I think you’d be a great fit! Glad to see John continuing his endeavors and while I’ll try for that spot as well, your content is awesome and I would like to see your content on RaceAnywhere
Ooh promising! 👀
@@little_regret thank you so much brother! you definitely have a great portfolio yourself and some awesome variety! no matter what happens, having John back at traxion is a win for everyone! stoked to see traxion back on my youtube recommend!
Huge fam! Take the wheel for the next stint was absolutely not cringey.
Serious Racing has been funneled into 4 games that are actually worth getting rn. AC/ACC/Evo, WRC(its become incredible trust me), Le Mans Ultimate, and IRacing. Forza, Gt, and F1 have ruined their credibility with the arcadey bs(not to mention all have completely ignored their communities). My Must Have Sim Game List. 1. AC 2. ACC 3. F12020 4. LeMansU 5. WRC
This sounds amazing! I'll be in touch :D
Fantastic news about Traxion returning, it left a big hole last year when it went. Really enjoyed your content on here too and just want to say what a fantastic company Race Anywhere is, they were fantastic last summer when I bought my first high end pedals. Best of luck to all involved.
Don't know about talking and not crashing, I would be happy with just not crashing. Seriously, enjoyed the videos John, glad Traxion is making a return and best of luck for the future. I am sure Martin will find a worthy successor.
I was glad to see you back on this channel following the Traxion news. Now glad to see Traxion is back and you're returning! Really enjoy your content and dedication to the hobby wherever you are! Hope the best for you and RaceAnywhere!
Thanks very much, this means a lot on all fronts! It's been bittersweet because it's simply two great projects.
Love these they are almost as strong as simucubes active pedals.
Macau, Norisring and now Pau. Raceroom has some excellent street circuit roster.
I hope they add a single player career mode at full launch
Wondered where you'd gone John! Really great having you back, your content is always thoughtful and insightful. ❤
after your failed EA WRC predictions, paid sponsorships, and fallen trust, did you start a new channel? No I won’t be here.
Why waste time posting this? Bring your negativity elsewhere. You’re what’s wrong with the internet.
ixpensive (overpriced) Racing 🤢🤮
2024 in sim racing ? We´re looking good so far :)
Great video and a refreshing take on not just recommending AC for everything that I often see. There's so many other studios working hard to make modern content packages that need more recognition and support, so well done for highlighting the "underdogs". I take the same approach of turning to a variety of titles dependant on the racing disciplines / series' that I want to race in as each title has particular strengths in that regard. I know your objective for the video was to focus on PC simracing, but GT7 (while flawed in many places) offers a seriously wide range of content in terms of cars and tracks, so much that it rivals most PC sims for variety.
I installed my Simagic Alpha Mini, P1000 pedals and FX Pro wheel today, and this video series was highly beneficial. LMU feels like a different game compared to my Fanatec CSL DD.
truck racing
Automobilista 2 has trucks
You often mention that AC is quite old but iRacing, RFactor2 and Raceroom are even older as they were released between 2008 and 2013.
WRC Generations is still good and has an integrated league mode if you find DR 2.0 boring. They both have decent physics in their own ways, but sadly we don't have any rally game that ticks all the boxes. Even EA WRC has dubious asphalt physics and rain effects, for example. We could do a whole video about rally games...
Very awesome video. Even though I have practically every single one mentioned, I don't do iRacing. But I did learn more about some things I have been missing in some of the sims. Just don't have the time to invest in I racing though - I had a 3 month trial and put in less then 12 hours total (although, I didn't have the set-up I have now). But, factoring in single screen, triple screens or VR also plays a big part in the games. If I am just wanting to drive around, triples are good. Rally definitely has to be VR. But, Kart Kraft with VR is insane. The only time I ever got vertigo was when the kart spun and was rolling backwards, and I felt like I was going to be sick. Had to take the VR off and walk it off!
Found you!! Subscribing!!
Something I’ve always wanted to see was a dedicated time attack or hillclimb sim. Sure neither of those are extensive enough to have a super packed game, but I feel like a team good enough with proper sponsoring could release a fairly good sim albeit not super extensive, with all the classes (limited, unlimited etc) for a $20-30 price tag. Idk how good of an idea it really is but it’s always cool to think about lol
👍
you forgot to mention how ams2 has plenty of karting content too
Really great overview! Didn't know about the NHRA game, unfortunately seems to not support wheels. Would love some deeper dives on some of the lesser known sims in the future.
Very instructive video. One of the things I can't get working in SimPro Manager is getting ABS/TC/Pit/Flags warnings assigned to the buttons on the Simagic Neo wheel. Any help?
Thank you very much for sharing these tutorials friend! Very well explained. I bought alpha 15nm + GT NEO. Could you help me with a situation? I was unable to configure the second shift pedals with the second clutch and the bite point. That would be for iracing.
Grab Turismo is yo daddy
Does the brake feedback work with all cars in iRacing?
It depends on a few factors... With Sim Hub you can have it working in many different scenarios to different levels, so quite possibly. But with the SimPro Manager software it's a little more basic, the brake feedback is specifically for ABS activation, and not all cars have ABS therefore the feedback would only work on certain cars.
Surely someone else has to be sick of hearing about Rennsport??? They basically came put of the gate with a game almost no one could play, but that didn't stop them from going hard into the esports. I couldn't not care even the slightest about an esports event for a game no one can play. They advertised the esports more than the game itself. Just get the game finished and if it's good, maybe then we'll care about your esports.
Been searching for this video for about a week! Thank you so much, got my alpha ultimate (from a Logitech wheel) and it’s a bit overwhelming. But damn it feels so much better
You are very welcome, great to hear you are already loving it despite the overwhelming nature of it all! That will only get better with time. Enjoy it!😊
Great video bro
Glad you enjoyed!
Automobolista I need to try this SIM
To add another comment. Yes, I am not holding my breath on the new game coming out - Assetto Corsa Evo (2). Will it be a good sequel to the original game AC 1, or will it be like a Project Cars 3 which was a disaster for most people. Time shall Tell and I will wait for all the reviews to come out on the released game on how good/bad it will be. Will Assetto Corsa Evo even come out this Summer, we will find out. It may be an early release type game like many others in the past. I really enjoy AC 1 as it is now with all the mods, tracks, and cars. And new things come out for it every day. take care.
I'm so glad you covered these settings, I just got mine and have been trying to understand the differences.
That’s great to hear! Enjoy your wheel 😊
I'm on Alpha Mini and GT Neo after taking advantage of the bundle with the PSR3 rig. I'm very happy. I just leave it at 10Nm and have just started experimenting with the other sliders. The 300mm wheel is ao much better than my old Fanatec V2 Formula wheel. I came from DD1 of 3 years, and the Alpha Mini is smoother and has enough torque for me in GTE/GT3/LMP2/HY cars. Thanks for the 3-part video.
EA ruins everything it touches.
All i can think of, is these things malfunctioning and absolutely shattering your Clavicles
Just in case someone have oscilations on straigths: in my case (Alpha Mini) setting friction, dampers, detail and especially Wheel Rotation Speed at 0 gives the most realistic feeling and eliminates oscilation completely. The wheel basically takes raw ffb from the game, which is already quite detailed (at least in AC). Adding additional multiplayers like Wheel Rotation Speed makes everyting more twitchy, unstable and artificial
I have the aplha mini and on streets my wheel is doing these little mini turns and I think it’s my centering is off but I guess this is it?
This! I've been using this setting for months now and is by far the best feeling I've had with my alpha mini for AC. I mostly do highway racing, drifting and touge.
Hi John. Just received my gt neo today! . Have it set up and I can report it's absolutely Epic. Thanks very much for the quick delivery
Same, I absolutely love it.
Thanks John, great series! Are you planing on sharing your preferred settings here or on Discord? I'd be curious to see how they stack up to others! Keep up the great work! :)
Great idea, thanks! I have now shared both the LMU and iRacing settings in the Simagic Community Discord, under "simagic-settings" 🙂
Maybe it's just me, but I still don't get the benefit of low wheel rotation speed. I might be wrong, but by definition, you're simply reducing your chances of catching a slide, as you're not allowing the wheel to change direction at full speed, right? I can't imagine any benefit apart from maybe reducing some noises, but that's what smoothness and feedback frequency do without compromising the rotation speed. Could someone please explain it?
How about you just reduce your maximum wheel rotation lock to 270 degrees? Should be very easy to catch slides.
Well explained and detailed! Thanks! Now I just need to buy my Alpha base 😂
Thanks very much! Hopefully it will give you a starting point once you get your hands on one. Enjoy🔥
The Feedback Frequency slider is extremely important on iRacing. What it does is it gets the 60Hz signal from iRacing and upsamples it to a higher frequency, making it feel smoother and more detailed. It's like using iRFFB but done at the driver level which reduces latency tremendously. In order to feel the difference this does I suggest the following test: 1. Load up Sebring or Long Beach (something very bumpy) in iRacing with a stiff car (try Formula 4 or something similar); 2. Move Smoothness and Damper to 0; 3. Move Frequency to 0; 4. Notice how the FFB feels; 5. Move Frequency to 9; 6. Notice how the FFB is much smoother;
“Lemon Ultimate” or as I like to call it “Ultimate lemon” PS. Smart marketing, creating hype for simagic while its out of stock 😅. Are u able to share how many units do you usually restock ? Alpha mini went from one backorder to another one 😅
Nice information
