Your "if & then" areas, maybe break it up with the "then" into blessings or consequences... just a thought. Thank you for sharing! 🙏⚘️❤️
That is certainly one approach you could take. I'm just sharing one project that people can consider doing and how it would work in Scripture Notes.
Do we know when Jonah Barnes book will come out?
Not certain. I think in the next couple months.
Sept 2nd for pre-Order and Sept. 17th for full release.
Who was it that caused Deseret Book to remove Wayne's and other's material?
Don't know a name.
Jonah please please PLEASE start your own you tube channel that removes all the harsh language & crass naughty "jokes" found elsewhere...it is painful to listen to the light you share being interspersed with dark humor of others. Your humor is fun & NOT dark : ) THANK YOU! Then I am sure that MORE Church members would be able to listen more comfortably to your AMAZING messages of truth and light! Keep up the good work on other channels like Scripture Notes that are filled more abundantly with the light of our Savior Jesus Christ! church members
Jonah!! 🎉
I would love to hear if any progress? Codex?
Dave Butler, Mike Day etc.are helping so many saints prepare for Christ’s eminent return. Many thanks.
When Jonah talks about Christian writings from pre-christian documents being considered hoaxes by Scholars it reminds me of one of the methods Scholars used to date scriptures. If the prophecies were fulfilled, then they were written after the prophecy was fulfilled. Which is an odd rule to hold when Jeremiah tells us people were prophesying both directions, we just keep the ones that turned out being true Prophets.
Loved listening to this, looking forward to using scripture notes software.
After watching this video…..i downloaded the app. In order to use the app, you have to sign up for a subscription. You can cancel the subscription before the free 14 day trial period to continue using the free version. I then deleted the app, without even trying it. Not a big fan of subscription models…..i would rather buy it outright. Also not a big fan of sign up and cancel before free trial. Maybe my loss……but, i stay far away from the subscription schemes.
Where can I preorder Jonah‘s new book?
What is the name of Jonah’s upcoming book?
Excellent.
Bro. Norton, I'm thinking xou may be the grandson of the Patriarch who gave my husband and I our patriarchal blessings! We were converts and two of his earlier members. He was a great man. I had a very testimony building experience with my blessing. So neat to see his name! There probably aren't a lot of people with the first name of Oak. Loved the podcast. I've been a heartlander for many years. I really want to get to Ohio and see the mounds!! D.Gated
I'm actually his son. :) So glad you got to have your blessing through him.
You are amazing...just wanting to be aware of the meaning of the words you used, initiate and esoteric, I looked them up and my mind exploded with good things. I'm loving the BofM more and more and more.
I wanted to learn more about scripture notes, but you can't find anything without signing up and choosing a pay plan. There are only four screen shots in the Google Play Store, and they aren't even enticing. There's not even a description of what the app is or does! I had to give my email address to get more details, and then there still aren't any. You have to choose a pay plan for a two week trial to see anything more than the four screenshots. How can I choose without even knowing what I'd be getting? Disappointing. Without any details, it's a no thank you. The Gospel Library app is fantastic and it's free.
Genesis 1 is ELOHIM (Lucifer and the fallen angels). They made man in their image. Man is an idol, a trap to hunt angels. Only one Gospel: The Gospel of Reconciliation. Jesus Christ came into THEIR kingdom to reconcile fallen angels unto Himself. We are the fallen angels (ELOHIM) kept in DNA chains of darkness. If you do not confess being a fallen angel in Lucifer's kingdom, then you are an unbeliever. Unbeliever = those that claim to be made in the image of ELOHIM(gods). REPENT FALLEN ANGELS.
It doesn't matter who he is. It does not change the fact that the BOM is NOT TRUE but some manifestation of satanic trickery and deception. "Mormonism: Shadow or Reality?" will help you.
Thank you. I have real hard times with my fellow Christian brothers and sisters on my case about me reading and studying apocrypha
Not only trampling, but also tearing the garment is a commonality between the BOM and Jasher.
My opinion: The Church has MAJOR issues. Does my saying that make me an apostate?
This is awesome thank you!
I loved this! However... it's a false teaching to "stick to the brethren." That false tradition needs to end. If that were "a thing", Joseph and the scriptures wouldn't warn us to beware of false prophets and tell us in our own D&C what to do with a false or fallen prophet. Don't put you trust/ faith in the arm of flesh. All men are flesh.
Not true. A great many prophets, both ancient and modern, testify otherwise. You can't stand against the Lord's anointed and speak the truth.
The 1st book of Enoch has stuff in it that would be unrecognizable to anyone but the Latter-day Saints. Very interesting stuff.
Hi. I am having problems with the custom markup. I have a collection note and I turn on the custom markup then begin marking. Later in my study I decide to add another verse to this collection note and when I drag it in all of the custom markings that I had will reset to nothing. How do I keep the custom markings in a collection note as I add new verses to the collection over time?
Rick, we've been trying to recreate this but can't. Will you please email me and we'll try to do a screen share and you can demonstrate what you're experiencing so we can fix it?

The great LDS Exodus has been caused by the mass exposure of mormon doctrine to the common mormon practitioner. People across the globe now have access to data never before available as it was hidden by the LDS church. Mormon members are thinking and not just accepting a 'feeling' prescribed by a church, in fact, they are boldly asking questions that causes the LDS leadership to circle the wagons. The LDS faith is a dying artifact of an early American culture of greed, deception and criminal activity. It lingers today as an example of how Satan's work on Earth can hold captive educated people in a family/social polytheistic cult. Joseph Smith developed doctrine which fooled thousands into believing they too can be a god and control their own planet. He said that the god we worship was once a man like us but because he was a good mormon, he became the god we worship. (This is mormon doctrine; look it up). Smith was a known liar and story-teller. He had what he called a "seer stone" which he said gave him power to find treasure and work magic. Smith was a convicted swindler who decided he was entitled to marry 44 woman, some of which were young teen children. Smith attempted to print his own money, build his own army, and declared himself a king, all of which failed along with his many “prophecies” and “revelations.” After being wanted for treason against the United States, and destroying a News Paper press that exposed his trechury, Smith was killed in a gunfight. History, logic and wisdom have destroyed the LDS faith. As mormons have more tools of education and access to the actual historic record, not just the revised, and approved LDS version, they are simply walking away from the LDS cult. American folk religion and con artistry are sticky; wisdom is the solvent. Joseph Smith was a con artist who fabricated a snake-oil folk religion into a self-serving, ego-feeding, lust filling cult. Smith fed his lust, greed, and ego and it continues to do so for the LDS leadership today. Now that there are open volumes of data available for inspection, the LDS faithful are departing in a massive exodus. The Book of Mormon has been exposed for what it is; a prop for a con. There is no real or actual evidence to shore up the frail story and geography of BoM. There is no DNA evidence to support this Jew Indian Theory of theirs. Ironically, the best evidence against the BoM are all mormon sources and doctrine. The history vacuum plaguing the LDS faith cannot be filled by revelation knowledge from a prophet or a mormon's testimony; God does not leave us blind. We must call the LDS church what it is - a criminal enterprise began by a con man that continues today.
This is wonderful! 🌟

35:35 does this apply to Joseph Smith?
Here's my favorite 'other than scripture' so far: "Return, my son to your first Father, God, and to Wisdom, your Mother. Wisdom summons you in Her goodness saying, 'Come to me all of you, oh foolish ones, that you may receive a gift, the understanding which is good and excellent. I am giving you a high priestly garment which is woven from every wisdom. Clothe yourself with wisdom like a robe. Put knowledge upon you like a crown. Be seated upon a throne of perception. From now on, my son, return to your devine nature.' " Circa 150 CE From the teachings of Sylvanus (Silas), Nag Hammadi library. Later quoted by St. Anthony, mid 4th century, so it was semi orthodox at least until then.
That’s awesome! ❤ I’ve been listening to DJ Butler, Mike Ward, and [what is the name of the gal who was just on Stick of Joseph] talk and drop hints about “Wisdom!”

My husband and I have been studying the Lectures on Faith. At the end there is an insert that say SHEM IS MELCHIZEDEK by John Taylor. Is that the same in your scriptures notes?
I don't know about that insert. It wasn't in the data set I used when I added the Lectures on Faith. I'll have to look for it.
@ScriptureNotes it's definitely part of my Lectures on Faith that I downloaded. It says the source is TIMES ANS SEASONS VOL 5 p 746 NAUVOO, ILLINOIS, DECEMBER 15, 1844, ELDER JOHN TAYLOR, EDITOR
@@ScriptureNotes oh! It also says A COMPILATION CONTAING THE LECTURES ON FAITH. It came from the Brigham Young Library.
@@ScriptureNotes also, can you give a source for the comment from Joseph Smith about the knowledge flooded to people when they are ready to accept it.... something like that?
I am so thankful for trying ward radio once and finding Jonah Barnes, I wanted to read the apocrypha but was scared to read them because I really didn’t know if they could be read or trusted, or that I would be told it wasn’t good to read them. The Book of Enoch and the Book of Jasher are what helped me come back to the Church after almost 15 years of inactivity....the Spirit will testify of truth for sure!
I have the Book of Enoch, and I'm looking into Jasher, but all I can find is that there are multiple versions, they're all purported to be forgeries, and that a lost version was removed from the Latin Vulgate Bible. Could you help?
@mlucario2262 the best one to get is the annotated version By David r. Hocking
By the looks of it. This video absolutely dwarfs your other videos. Heartland is where the B of M took place.

I wonder if the Church would benefit from a better codification of how we categorize materials to draw on for spiritual study. In Hinduist traditions, there are the concepts of Shruti and Smirti, wherein sometimes the Shruti texts are considered more authoritative than Smirti texts, depending on who is talking about these concepts. Of course, most of our religious concepts seem to break down a bit when it comes to Hinduism, but a similar conception may be useful for dealing with all of these deuterocanonical and extra-canonical texts. Some are certainly more legitimate than others, but we are generally left on our own to decide how much proverbial "salt" to add to them when we read them. Pres. Nelson quoting an apocryphal text is significant, since it tacitly authorizes us to read and come to our own conclusions regarding these texts. Dr. Daniel Petersen has admitted to clandestinely quoting Islamic philosophers in his sacrament talks. Since certain of these texts are becoming popular, it might be something the Church needs to get ahead of in order to give guidance on how to approach them. Most significantly in today's environment is 1 Enoch, having become fuel for internet conspiracy theories. A concept of stratified scriptural reference, or just literature in general would be helpful for many people, and stave off inappropriate leverage of these texts with how popular they have become.
ive looked at the mag for years. one of my favorite.

I'm 73 and had studied Isaiah most of my life. In 2015 I decided to study Isaiah diligently. I listened to Isaiah on headphones and speakers 24 hours a day for 7 years. First I learned was Isaiah is not in chronological order. Second was the structure of Hebrew poetry. Understanding these two will unlock much of Isaiah.
