    This is just another Xtool laser designed for uninformed buyers. They inundate the market with flashy marketing videos in an attempt to make their lasers look better than they really are. This F1 Ultra is ridiculously overpriced compared to "real" Fiber lasers.

    • @makeorbreakshop
      @makeorbreakshop Před dnem

      I would normally agree, especially if we are just talking pound for pound raw specs. The big differentiator for me is starting to be the software, the speed its developed in just a year or so is wild. And there is a lot to be said for people paying for something that just works. But if you get deep in the fiber world, totally agree you can make your money go further with a more capable machine.

      @TheExtremeElementz Před 2 dny

      Yes it would do a better job, but so would the F1 (normal). Also something not discussed here is the fact there are no safety features that stop the laser when the case is open classifies this as a Class 4 laser.

      @@Adriel59 That would be pretty dope. If you’re not going for deep engraving like the example coins he showed off the F1 normal would do an excellent job at much less cost than the Ultra. But then again an S1 10w + IR Laser would be more versatile for almost the same cost. With the S1 you’d have to swap the laser module when wanting to use IR vs 10w and yes it wouldn’t print as fast considering it’s not a galvo BUT the option to do more larger projects later might be appealing. Choices… choices. Goodluck!

    Should probably finish watching the video before asking this but.... Given that the tray can be removed, does the Z have enough adjustment to make it possible to have a long piece of material inserted in it's place, with the cutting capacity of this larger(stronger more functional) multi-piece projects can be done and you will get a LOT of waste if you have to cut pieces short enough to fit in the machine rather than just feeding in and positioning/flipping(if necessary) a longer piece to maximize material usage and minimize waste? Basically every 'tool made from plywood' vid on youtube with parts small enough........................

    • @DoresoomReviews
      @DoresoomReviews Před dnem

      If you slide material in through the tray, you can fit a full 24" long piece of plywood into the work volume. The Falcon 2 Pro has sensors that know if the tray is open, so you'd have to spoof it being closed in order to fit larger sheets of material in and cut with half of it hanging out.

Those laser modules must be super expensive to manufacture because the rest of the machine looks like it should come in under $150.00. I think if they put a better collimator lens on the laser module, they could get the spot size down significantly making the beam intensity super high. Great video. Personally I would leave out packaging cost because that can be put into your shipping price, that the customer pays. I would add in misc business costs as a % on top - rent, supplies, kitchen, cleaning, insurance, registrations, safety equipment etc. As for laser time, i've found that it is unrealistic unless it is the ONLY factor in pricing a custom one off job. A lot of people online use laser time but if you're also factoring machine cost, maintenance and labour, then counting laser time is basically double charging (in terms of working out your costs). However it does work in figuring out how to price a custom jobs on the fly, where you aren't making the same kind of item hundreds of times. Ultimately if you are making at least 3-4x the cost of materials then you're doing alright.

    Does it allow you to specify the depth of the engraving? I need to engrave 0.03” not any deeper.

    Loogs great. Would the standard setup handle a Life Tree 40W power wise? (5mm acrylic and MDF planned)
