I haven't watched much of "Star Trek: Lower Decks" (ST:LD) but clips like this make me want to watch the entire series. Amidst the humor, there are also times when they hit you with strongly emotional scenes like this one and the clip where Mariner admits she "I just want to be an Ensign". This scene makes me hope that when ST:LD ends they use the character of T'Lyn in another series.

I love this entire episode since it is hte most META of any Lower Decks episode. It's a "cave episode" about "cave episode" that's also a flashback/clip episode. Cave episodes are the Star Trek "bottle episodes" designed to save money and reduce the number of cast, costumes, makeup, etc. A clip/flashback episode is also supposed to save money. Both used here as a parody of such.

Why are all the hallways and rooms so darn dark?! Sure it looks cool but nobody uses hallways like that now - why would they in the future? What happened to optimistic star trek?

Sad that the only issues ppl have with this show is just fat shaming or crying about the male-female ratio.

One really nice touch is that Boimler’s voice doesn’t crack when he shouts “Now!” like it usually does when he raises his voice.

Considering Mariner fought in the Dominion wars, and got beaten up by Barb, who's a bloody *scientist* , she must be insanely strong.

I like the detail on how Mariner is out of focus when she gets too close to the camera.

Glad STD is over. If your characters have to explain everything they see like they are describing things to a child, then your writing is a miserable excuse for dialogue.

till his appearance in lower decks i always had the head canon that nick locarno and tom paris were the same guy. he just used an assumed name to join starfleet so he didn't ride on his dad's reputation.. you know.. like mariner did

This episode was full of great references to Wrath of Khan but the best has got to be the very James Horner-like score.

I feel that Ransom is what Locarno could of been if he wasn't utterly obsessed with his own glory. Everything he says is focused on himself and its why 'his' new fleet abandoned him in a second. The fact that Mariner still tried to save him after he tried to kill her multiple times is something he never deserved.
