Battle of Plassey (1757) || English in India || Indian History || Documentary
Mughal Empire had started to decline drastically in the first half of the 18th century. Several factors were responsible for this, mainly the rise of the Marathas. During this time the Nawab of Bengal had stopped answering to the Mughals at Delhi. Also, for some time the Englishmen in Bengal, who had arrived in India for trade, were at loggerheads with the rulers of Bengal. This brought these two parties in direct conflict, which eventually led to the Battle of Plassey.
Plassey or Palasi, is a village on the banks of the Hughli river in the state of West Bengal in India. There, the forces of the Nawab of Bengal, Siraj Ud-Daulah, met against the forces of the British East India Company in a short but fierce battle. The Nawab, on paper had a much bigger army but still lost against a much smaller British army. In this video we dive into the details of what actually transpired on that fateful day.

Africans are in India much before Indians were brough to Africa as 'coolies' by Britain. Africans called 'SIDDI' are in India, come with Arabs around 700 CE. These are Bantus of Southeast Africa. Some Africans came with the Portuguese and the British. Recently tens of thousands' on Nigerians have entered India. Indians came to East Africa in 1895 for railways building. Of the 32,000 Indian workers 2,493 are reported to have died/killed and 6,454 were severely injured. The man eating lions of Tsavo killed 130 Indian. Today India as the 5th biggest economy is a development aid provider and shares know how with Africa.

It was the Ugandans who suffered most under Idi Amin’s tyrannical rule. Some 300,000 people were killed, and countless others were persecuted under his rule. The impact of the expulsions on the economy was startling: gross domestic product (GDP) fell by 5% between 1972 and 1975, while manufacturing output tumbled from 740m Ugandan shillings in 1972 to 254m shillings in 1979.

Kalarippayattu is NOT the mother of all martial arts Stories of "Kalarippayattu being the mother of martial arts including kung fu", "Bodhidharma teaching Indian martial arts at shaolin temple", "bodhidharma being a Kalarippayattu practioner", "Bodhidharma being a tamil pallava King" is actually a myth and a big lie which is spread by Kalarippayattu practitioners and Indian pseudohistorians since late 1990's to popularise the art and to claim the superiority of Kalarippayattu over other martial arts. China was already flourished with martial arts centuries before the arrival of Bodhidharma. Shuai jiao /jiao di which is said to be the precursor of kung fu said to have existed in China for over 6000 years ago even before Bodhidharma's birth. Bodhidharma's first chinese disciple Huike was an exceptional martial artist and a warrior (ex military), before he became a monk under bodhidharma and started preaching Buddhism. Bodhidharma was a Zen Buddhism preacher. Not a martial artist. Bodhidharma's contribution to China was meditation and yogic practices. Not martial arts. Yi Jin Jing is an exercise manual which as per legends say Bodhidharma supposedly wrote which paved the way for the creation of Kung Fu. Unfortunately, this book was written somewhere during 17th century, centuries after Bodhidharma's death. This manual never existed during Bodhidharma's life time. There are references to fictional heroes created long after Bodhidharma supposedly died. The exercises in the manual are of internal Taoist nature, not Indian or even Buddhist. A fictional story called ‘The Travels of Lao Ts'an’ published in 1907 stated that Bodhidharma taught martial arts. This is the earliest reference that Bodhidharma knew martial arts. Also this book was written long after Bodhidharma's death. Apart from Pseudohistoric articles written by indian Pseudohistorians and kalarippayattu practitioners on internet, youtube videos and some indian movies like 7 aum arivu (2011 film), baaghi etc. which spread false information about Kung Fu and Bodhidharma, there is no historical evidence to prove that Kalarippayattu is the mother of all martial arts including kung fu.
