Installing Nilight LED's For A Tractor
It finally came time for me to upgrade the lights on my LS XU5065 tractor. The installation was relatively easy with basic electrical tools and wrenches. The Nilight LED's were a drastic improvement over the stock pod bulb lights.

Already picked up a Granberg Alaskan mill for the 41 inch bar and some ripping chains. This saw attacks the log! Wants to bite hard! Loving it already!

    So, for ceiling insulation, the brown/paper side sits on the ceiling with pink facing upwards? I installed it with the brown/paper side facing upward and the insulation facing down on the ceiling drywall. Is this wrong? Thanks in advance.

    • @HermanWoodworks
      @HermanWoodworks Před 19 dny

      @anonymousworldwide777 the paper should always face the heated or finished area. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for watching!

      @@HermanWoodworkswhat if you have both sides heated? My garage will have some heat/ac and the room above will also be heated/ac. I'm notnsure if I should put the paper facing down into the garage or up against the floor of the second floor. Thanks

    • @HermanWoodworks
      @HermanWoodworks Před 6 dny

      @paulpaul1815 if you are climate controlling both sides, then the paper isn't as crucial. I guess my only other question or comment would be, does either side have the potential for vapor fumes or such. Because the paper is technically forming a light vapor barrier. So that could be a deciding factor to protect the other side from vapor pass through.

    • @paulpaul1815
      @paulpaul1815 Před 4 dny

      @@HermanWoodworks my gut tells me the garage would be more suseptible to dampness and vapor since it's at ground level and has a concrete floor which holds moisture. So I'm thinking for the ceiling of the garage I'd put the paper facing down into the garage. The garage needs full 5/8 sheetrock for fire code. I just don't know of anyone who has done it that way. The second floor will be much more climate controlled than the garage as it will only see two small ducts coming down from the second floor. I guess I can just get unfaced and then I won't have to make a decision. I just don't want a moldy ceiling in the garage.

    Great video! If you have heavy wire running horizontally through your bays ( left from a previous owner), do you cut a partial ‘slit’ in the insulation somehow so there’s not a bulge at that spot somehow?

    • @HermanWoodworks
      @HermanWoodworks Před 20 dny

      @ronoberleitner7547 thanks for watching! Yes, unless the code in your area is different. Either slice the batt to the depth the wire is and let the wire go right into that cut line. Or cut the batt to the right depth above or below it and peel some material back so it can drape behind the wire. Ultimately your trying to avoid any compression of the insulation, otherwise it isn't doing its job. Having some insulation between the wire and outside wall also gives you better fireproofing. I also did a video on ceiling insulation where I had to deal with wires running across bays. Thanks again and let me know if you have any other questions!

      @HermanWoodworks Před měsícem

      @triciahill216 I recently did a lot of chipping with it, clearing for a pond. One of the trees removed was a 24 inch at the base cottonwood which stood approximately 60 feet tall and was in the open by itself, so it had a good deal of small branches. I sent everything under 8 inches through the chipper in under 2 hours... let me know if you have any other questions. The Woodmaxx has been a absolute trooper for me!

    Nice review! Did you ever compare 9ah vs 6ah battery? Your coming up on one year, would you recommend this ridgid chainsaw or should I look at a different brand??

    • @HermanWoodworks
      @HermanWoodworks Před 4 měsíci

      I didn't get to do a cut amount comparison, but I've used both batteries with the saw and they both perform well. Since the initial review I have also used a friend's Milwaukee and a dewalt 60v. Honestly the Milwaukee seems like a solid unit. I dropped a 40 inch oak and did all the main stuff with my stihl saws, but we did alot of the limb work with the Milwaukee. My answer would be if your just doing some light clean up or some light firewood cutting, the Ridgid does well. If your going to use more extensively, the Milwaukee may be a better option. Do you already have Ridgid batteries? Also, whatever you decide on, check on home depots website. They seem to run package deals that are better than in-store options. Milwaukee even came out with a top handle saw. Hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions! Thanks for watching!
