    I would walk away from all this to live like that again, I have been a carpenter,builder and I am now learning smithing, I love history all cultures but what I have learned is this time doesn't want people like me, too old fashioned, I have honored the old ways always and I always will, its the one thing that they cannot take from you but if you are not careful you can throw it away, so I hold on to it always until I go to the next world.

      Ohh I am sorry !! I know about this, my father taught us to "travel skate" decades ago on the lake where I live,he would skate ahead tapping the ice with a sturdy pole to avoid thin ice. The skates are better now and it is still an adventure! It is a lot like cross country skiing. I live over two thousand meters in altitude!

    Could someone please tell me what brand or style ice skates those are? They actually look just like XC ski bindings that we use here in the USA.

      Yup, his kind of skates have the exact same binding as cross country skis. You can even use the same shoes but you generally want more support around the ankle than what regular xc shoes provide. I don't know exactly which ones he has but they look very similar to my Zandstra Blade. There are other nordic skates available with attached heel, but they're not nearly as convenient to put on and remove.

    This is wrong, she is wrong. All vikings raided, that's what made them "vikings". The word viking originated from the word vike which means to go away or leave, which vikings did on their raids. Not all Scandanavians were vikings. She's not living a modern viking lifestyle, she's living an old Scandanavian lifestyle.

People barely have control over the civil war because they could not eliminate several sectarian groups that get in their way of restoring order; many of these groups were, in fact, a fabrication of a Middle Eastern cold war that mainly involves Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. The Kremlin's involvement isn't making the situation any easier as they would rather support a grounded dictatorship over a fragile democracy to stop the region from harboring terrorists in Russia's backyard.
