I visited San Antonio a week ago. Drove around some areas and I really like the hill country. I want to be away from the city but not to far, would love a one story home. I will be ready to take the next step 2025 ❤😊

I went to John Paul Stevens which was a massive step up from the ghetto trash pile that was my middle school (peas middle school). It was so clean and advanced looking in comparison and i was blown away even though it was relatively normal as far as high schools go. I also remember almost having to transfer to John Jay because i moved closer to it and I absolutely refused to because ive never heard a single positive thing about it ans rhe principle got offended by me not wanting to go there and refused to sign my form that would allow me to remain at Stevens and i had to find another way to get that done.

Its funny how people randomly ask what high school you went to here lol. One of my friends that I made since moving to San Antonio area told me I need to tell people that I went to Clark if I want like instant respect or if I want to fit in.

I really wish I knew about Tobin Hill and The Pearl before I moved to San Antonio (Converse). This neighborhood is definitely my jam as a single professional. I'm at The Pearl every chance I get....love the vibes in that area!

Thank you for the info. I’ve lived in Austin off 53 years of my life, but I’m looking to build a second home in San Antonio because I love the city so much. Me and the mother of my kids like to go to the Riverwalk every other weekend. we pay like $700 a night to stay at a hotel. So now I’m thinking we should just buy some land and build a house there. And for whatever reason I wanted to live in Alamo Heights. Maybe because it had the Alamo in it. but I want to build like a 10,000 square-foot Brady Bunch house. Where it looks like something from the 70s. Hopefully the neighborhood will allow it , otherwise I have to look somewhere else.

Ehh, division is bad, and inclusivness is good. As a fellow NB, come one, come all. I get a kick at all of it. For me, just know, Nb is a tourist town and downtown on summer weekends, good luck. We just avoid it. NB does have a small town feel, and has a lot of good celebrations (christmas). If you are coming here, drive around a bit around 5 pm in different areas, 2:30 Pm and the mornings. Here is the gripe: Don't come here acting like you are the main character of this video game called life, and everyone else is just here to support you. Be cool, be nice, be courteous, and you're good. Be a punk, jerk, and other words...ehh, San Marcos is a good town for you ;) One last thing: Comal ISD is cheaper in taxes than NBISD. That is such crap. We don’t want people moving here like they own the state like we’re not American citizens that’s not right I live in San Diego California. Most people are not from my state if I’m from San Diego and that’s a rarity that you find in native but we don’t have an attitude like that at all, that’s just wrong pisses me off because now I’m buying a home and a place where people are gonna hate on me and don’t even know me now I’m all stressed out thanks thanks for repeating how much they’re gonna hate me. So I did find a home I’m going to buy this home. I am from California. I’m forced out of my home state I am retiring. It doesn’t bother me that they are busy downtown. I can stay in my home and only go out when I need to go shopping I’m looking forward to being here Kills me that I might run into negative attitudes just because I’m from California. That sucks like life hasn’t been hard enough for me and now I gotta deal with that but what choice do I have none I’ll be praying that God sends good people my way, and that won’t judge me, also I’ll be running to DMV day too. I don’t want people hurting me. I’m just a little lady.

San antonio enforces their own regulations, that mirror an HOA. You can't park on your yard, can't wash your car in your yard or even on you driveway during certain times of the year. They regulate grass cutting, chickens and their coops, fence height, lemonade and yard sale restrictions and MUCH MORE

Hey im really curious what your thoughts are on Marbach rd and just the 78245 area in general. Ive lived on marbach my whole life and generally near the 410 highway and my entire family and i always make jokes about how ghetto it is but i dont ever see it listed on any bad neighborhoods and to be honest i dont exactly feel unsafe but its because i have been here so long that i know it well enough. Again though im curious if you have thoughts on it.

Texas and other states do not want Californians moving there because they’re afraid they’re going to bring their politics with them. I say that as a Californian. Lol Just keep in mind we’re not all liberal and/or nutty. My spouse and I took a road trip earlier this year through Texas. I absolutely fell in love with New Braunfels. If we had decided to move to the San Antonio area, that’s probably where we would’ve ended up. We went during the week so we didn’t get a party atmosphere feeling , and most of the people were nice. On our way out of town we hit the Dairy Queen, don’t recommend that. Lol Great video!

That's the thing about small town Texas. People don't take to change very well and can be complete ASSHOLES if they realize that you're an outsider. New Braunfels in particular. I go up there from San Antonio on the weekend to fish at Landa Park and the people aren't around that place are not at all friendly. You can just tell that there's more humans around than what they're used to or care for and they're pissed about it. Things are changing and they don't like it. I intend to eventually purchase a home in the area but I'll be looking at Poteet, Pleasanton/Jourdanton, or Floresville. More South Texas than Central Texas but you still have access to all the goodies and it's a much less trendy pick. You see a bit more tolerance of your existance from the locals.

You’re right Encino Park is a great area for families. It is not a cheap area though, a lot of people here work remotely otherwise downtown.

Just reviewing this video for the second time. Very interested in Alamo Ranch and will be reaching out to schedule a visit in a month or two. Two suggestions: 1. When you move from one community to another, it would be helpful for you to mention the name of the community so we can do our research better. 2. When you show the areas that are more in the country, as you did in this video, it would be helpful for you to talk about when the utilities change from all city provided to well and/or septic -- and the advantages and disadvantages of each.

I really enjoy your videos, lots of great information and history plus I like your food recommendations! Just an FYI IDEA Schools are public schools that are really for low-income families. If you look at a map of SA they are usually in low-income areas.

I did DoorDash and Uber eats to that area and honestly I was scared because of how posh it looked. For real though they were the best tippers out of anyone I delivered to, easily a $20 tip, one was an order of well over $100 and the tip was $50 😮the only downside was night deliveries and not much lighting and yea you can tell from this video, no lighting poles or anything.
