I bought one 6 weeks ago in Ontario, its a great bike, i put Michelin road 6 gt on at 2,250 great move and a tall Vstream windshield so i can ride with a half helmet in the summer.
Can't hear you. Just the wine of the engine. Edit better next time.
unfortunatly this bike ins t sold anymore for some years in most european countries :(
Doh! Sorry to hear that. Cheers!
Nice smart colour, I like these, but I have never had one, I recently got kawasaki h2 sx but I think I would be better of on one of these, h2 is to fast for a touring bike😮
Well this has no shortage of fast or power. It is basically the same as the zx14 or concourse 1400. Lots of juice. I doubt I will ever know what it really can do just on how fast it is to get to the speed limit haha. Cheers!
@bigair0176 yes I know their good I have had a few xjr13's & just sold my 5th zzr1400 but the h2sx haven't got that initial tourque of the line then it just wants to clime to silly speed's it's not relaxing for touring, I was trying to get away from bikes that encourage high-speed riding for something more relaxed & comfortable but still with plenty off low down grunt and plenty of power. I like the changes they made to yours and it looks real good in that gloss colour ✨️
Greetings, As always another brilliant detailed video production 🇺🇲🍾🎉🇺🇲 Keep producing more videos about the FJR.(Mods videos, how to do it)
Thanks, will do! Cheers
What a terrible way to live
Trust issues I guess. Lots of theirs in the world
This was always a very good bike. From the very begining of its production. It is a shame that they don't sell it anymore in my country (CE Europe). If they decide to make a new model I will seriously consider buying it, otherwise I will wait for 2-3 years and buy a 2020-2021 model. I enjoyed the video. You did a detailed presentation. How tall are you? I see that you have adjusted the seat to the lower setting.
I am 5’8”. I haven’t changed a thing since I purchased it. I believe it’s still on taller seat height. Only time I have had the seat off was at the dealership to put my insurance under the seat haha. Cheers
@@bigair0176 As seen in the video it seems to be in the lower position, but... you will see yourself. :) Thanks for the answer bro. Appreciate it. Cheers.
@@RRRRefuelRideRace @bigair0176 From the factory, the seat should be set to the lower position by default. Congrats on the bike! I have a 2023 (which is identical), and it's fantastic. The only thing I don't love is how top heavy it is. I have other bikes that are the same weight, but lower center of gravity, and I am far more confident on them when it comes to things like picking an appropriate parking spot, doing the 7 or 9 point turn in the garage to get pointed outbound, and other maneuvers that require feet on the ground. I'm about 5'7, inseam 30 or 32 depending on the day.
Also re: the "low" RPM red line, if you haven't found out already, there really isn't a need to go much higher 😅 I find cruising at 3000-4000 is perfect, I'll hit 5000-7000 when I'm trying to boogie, and anything above that is just wild.
@@willst101 I see. Thanks a lot. I never tried the FJR, but I am thinking to do it. I am 6ft 1. Will see. Who knows if there is gonna be a new FJR in the near future. Drop by to check my content, you may like it. Cheers bro.
sweet bike!
I think so too!
Good stuff. I’m gonna do the same mods on my x. I’ve had it for 8 years and only just been riding it in the last year. Love the bike so fun
They are super reliable and fun for short rides. Cheers.

that bike is screeching,eww.
Lol not sure what you mean by that but cheers anyways!
I love the FJR and the Yamaha Blue. I had a 2010 BMW R1200 RT. It was between the Beemer and the Yamaha. Back then the 2010 Beemer had all the features I wanted, especially CC. It was quite a bit lighter and I just love the Boxer engine. Rode all over BC and NW US. Loved that bike, rode 20 K km/year.
Nice. Going from my wr250r dual sport to this is a major upgrade haha. I want to have some road trips on it. Biggest reason I bought it. Cheers!
Never saw this motorcycle, it doesn't exist in Brazil, great one... looks like the BMW R 1250 RT
Only ridden it for 600km. So far I love it. Got shit ton of power. Basically feels like a train on wheels! I have ridden the RT 1200. Very similar bike! Cheers
Are you up in Campbell River? I’m just down the road in the Comox Valley with a 2018 FJR 1300. I’ve done some farkle add ons. Regarding the seat, I tried a Yamaha Comfort Seat but it wasn’t a big enough improvement to me. So rather than going incrementally up, I just bit the bullet and went with a custom Russell Day Long seat. After the break in period it was and is great! It’s not heated and I didn’t get the optional backrest. I do have a Yamaha Topcase for road trips. And I place the cooler on the passenger seat which acts like a backrest. Glad you’re enjoying it!
I am. Haha figured someone would recognize the area. Cheers! I am probably going to spend the money on the Sargent seat combo with heated seats and back rest. Will prob stay away from the top box for now. But ya never know. I just got the motorad risers. That video will be coming soon!
What a video thanks
Glad ya liked it. Cheers!
I honestly thought they had stopped production of this bike !!
Nope!...the Concours hasn't been produced for a few years now. I originally wanted the Conny, but after some research the FJR was the better choice.
Big Air on the Big bike!!! Looking good bro! Enjoy the new machine
Thanks dude. This bike is pretty awesome so far. Can’t wait to make some mods to make this a little more custom. Cheers!
how did you feed the wires through the gunnel?
I fed a really joined clothes metal hangers and taped them together long enough to feed thru if I can remember corrctly
How do you like the boat over all for 2 people fishing? Im thinking about getting the 14 ?
2 people is plenty of room. Works great
Love the setup! I have the same boat and am looking forward to doing similar mods. Keep the videos coming!
Thanks, will do!
You're a strong son of a gun.
LOL Thanks. Age helps allot hehe.
Anybody including yourself know where to find plastic kits for the old pws like this the Amazon ones and Yamaha ones are for the new style pw?
Try partzilla. They have a pretty good stock of oem parts usually. Partzilla.com
Cool video I’m rebuilding the engine in my 85 4 zinger 60cc. Do you happen to know if it has the reed valve on it as well? I’m not finding much info on this quad 😅.
All 2 strokes will have reeds. Check out partzilla for online oem parts
So a couple of things. First off I’m confused about water in the motor issue. I what happens when it rains and you’re traveling? Also can you tell me the name of the company who makes this?
The rain caused the parts on inside to rust and break apart. Motor was cheap so when replaced it I made sure to completely seal the outside so no water go into the new motor. The motor was just a generic 2000lb winch. Bought the replacement from Canadian tire.
great review thank you
Thanks for the feedback. Cheers!
What's the model of oil pump you used for the grease? I had issues getting a good seal
Just a quick silver pump that has different adaptors and threats
Does your motor has electric start? Electric start weighs 116 non electric is 95lbs of 20hp tohatsu, and after seeing this video gave me better idea on how to handle. Would you recommend electric start?
I have electric start on this yes. Weighed like 120ish
Thank you !@@bigair0176
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Is it a T9.9 or F9.9? I’ve never seen a T series Yamaha with no power tilt or electric start. Far as I know the T9.9/T8 ( kicker version) was standard with power tilt and electric start.
T9.9. Ordered it that way
Looks amazing!
Thanks it was fun to experiment
Hello! I have the same problem with my 1995 90hp. Thanks for the tip. Greetings from the Stockholm archipelago in Sweden. 😀
No problem 👍
So now your new dirt bike is going to sit around for once or twice a year. Same difference.
Your probably right. One of my regrets for the WR250R tho is its torque. Something a little lighter and more power offroad would be nicer. Cheers
Not hating, just an observation. Sad you put all that $ into that bike, to sell it. That's why I'm keeping mine box stock. I'm good with it pretty much the way it sits. Maybe that sprocket change on the rear, would be the start of the rabbit hole. 😊
@@daveallen2455 dude. I don’t take anything like that to heart. Trust me I hear ya and feel very much the same. There is a good chance I keep it. But if I get what I want for it it will be gone. But for now you never know. Haha maybe you see more vids in future haha. I still have my steel braided brake lines sitting on the bench I haven’t put on the bike yet
Thanks for the interesting video. I’m a little sad to see you sell it but I’m sure it will go to a good home. It’s been fun watching the bike change over the years. Extremely curious to see and hear what the new bike is.
You will have to Wait and See . Hope all is well John. Cheers
Do you have a link for the 12 o'clock stuff and for the fork blinker?
www.12oclocklabs.com/. Check the more bling video I made for the fork lights.
You only ride once or twice a year because your work/life took you away from your riding bro's. Sad to see the WR go.
Certainly affected it for sure.
How thick actually was the rubber you used for the new gasket? I may have missed that explanation.
probably like a 1/16th thick...I'm sure I show it in the video. Cheers
Lll
Thanks! Couldn't be easier with your explanation!
Glad it was helpful. Cheers!
Hi thank you for the video, is it normal to have water coming out of exhaust on 9.9 4T 2014 Yamaha? It is about 1 ro 3 drops in time of 1-2s when idling on about 1080 RPM
I have a 2000 ssv 14, the ressr piece rotted alittle. Why did you screw thruthe vinyl, and not screw the base on first. I don’t want the screws showing
Did y use glue on the vinyl. Hind site might have been better. Used the screws to help hold vinyl on. No other reason really
Man that footer oil change was a mess for me. I had a bad time finding the correct angle
Ya lots of people have troubles with that. Just tilt up and lower slowly. Worked no issues for me
Do you need to drain the oil before changing the oil filter?
I would say it would be a good idea...The potential for a huge mess is less if you drain the oil. You would probably have to top up the oil anyhow if you just did the filter...might as well change it all...just my 2 cents...cheers
@@bigair0176 thanks
Do you need to drain the oil before changing the oil filter?
Yes I do
Do you need to drain the oil before changing the oil filter?
Do you need to drain the oil before changing the oil filter?
I have the problem with the guage cluster where the speed reads 3x the speed your actually riding. Sensor is not the issue. Can I use the healer as a bandaid to correct this?
It certainly made it a little more accurate.
@bigair0176 Thanks I'll give it a whirl!
Hi folks - is there a factory start position for the throttle stop screw? How far can you screw this in safely - it doesn't seat quite the same as the air screw.
Pretty sure I mention it in the video
@@bigair0176, air screw factory position is mentioned, not the throttle stop screw position.
