The campaign was aweful in regard of the storytelling: stereotype-super-hero-twaddler-type characters, absolutely inappropriate for the setting. And of course the cliché gameplay like always: the great hero-like Allies versus the dumb Germans, but if you look at actual war documentations and contemporary witnesses, it wasn't quite like that. As far as for the gameplay: there were at least some good moments with great atmosphere, but the rest was crap.

That guy would not have had possession of the other Soldier's weapon in real life at the beginning when he tossed it to him and said on your feet. The guy resting would have it in such a way that nobody could get it from him without waking him or him realizing it. I fought in 3 wars over a course of a 20 year Army career.

After some times watching again a gameplay of Alien Isolation it came to my mind that this plot could also be arranged to suit a diffrent situation. As for many others Weyland&Yutani locations and stations, experimentation over Xenomorph XX121 always ends up badly. Sometimes things goes really bad and people have to run in order to survive. In many occasions WY deploys its Commandos in order to secure such structures. Just imagine the situation: you, the only Commando left alive on that station (not Sevastopol), everything goes shit, lights flashing, your M41 have just half clip in and another on the belt. Radio statics on all channels, but there's still a call for help on one of the official channels of the WY. It says: "Please! Someone help us! We are in the barracks medical bay! Of the Three Commandos that went here to rescue us, one is dead, two have acid burns... we have closed the pressure door but we can hear them outside! Please! If there's anybody around! We need help!" Left alone in hostile territory, abandoned by the same company that hired you, you have only one way to get out of that nightmare alive: find help, organize the resistance, send a distress call and survive long enough to get help for the Colonial Marines. But don't think it will be a walk in the park: the station is now infested, Xenomorphs are now in charge of the station and in the deep of that space cathedral there's an Hive full of monsters seeking for you and the other survivors. You can possibly use your guns, but be aware that if you do that, they will come in numbers. And of course the atmosphere should be the same of Alien: Isolation for a better deeper immersion in the game.
