Explaining Why King Magnifico Was Right

King magnifico from disney wish 2023 is a misunderstood character. Asha wish 2023's motivations are also very misguided, many people miss the importance of king magnifico in disney wish 2023. All in all king magnifico was right , asha was wrong and he wasn't the worst leader they could have in disney wish 2023.

I’m sorry but there is no greater good. Magnifico doesn’t care about the people. He also lied to them about full filling their wishes.hes a covert narcissist. And he is the very definition of real world villain. The problem isn’t that he’s a “good guy” the problem is he switches to cartoonish villain to quickly and it doesn’t work story wise. But there is no way to call him hero or even anti villain. He’s nothing like Gustavo fring who is evil to the core but still has honor and cares about the people not involved in the drug stuff.

Yeah, we need to rewrite Wish as a whole. Want Magnifico as a bad guy? Maybe the evil book could make him too nice and would cause him to grant all the wishes in Rosas, including the bad ones. (expand on that idea peeps!!!!)

what if the wish of some people were i wish these people were dead, or that person saying I want this person to be in eternal torment because I hate em. If every wish has to be granted no matter how evil it is, some of the evil wishes being granted will turn the world upside down. Esp if some wish the world will come to an end or an entire race dies cause they are racist or all men die or something like that. That would be something magnifico will not grant cause that would ruin the world. and what if the wish was i wish to inspire others, and of course asha would grant that but then notice that what they meant by inspire is inspire the world to cause a holocaust, not all inspirations are good. What if one of the people there are like hitler and wish that they will make the world great (very vague wish) but if granted, an entire race of people in the kingdom drop dead on the spot including asha. There is so many ways to go wrong.

I have decades of experience in nonprofit organizations, working overtime with no extra pay, basically at minimum wage, and having so much emotional and physical effort in helping others, but was taken advantage of over and over and over. Had to spend so many hours begging rich people to help others who were sometimes in dire situations due to no fault of their own. It was exhausting. Was I appreciated, absolutely not. I was a doormat. So many times I would get to breaking point and felt like this song specifically spoke to every nonprofit charity worker, heck every teacher, every nurse.

At least it is somewhat accurate. When short sightedness, illogical thinking, and/or over emotionally decision based policies were enforced, empires or civilizations have fallen. With the exception of Queen Elizabeth, name an empire that has withstood the test of time, did not collapse, had a tragic demise or just disappeared into myhths, folklore, fairy tales and religion?

Okay, so instead of this version of Magnifico, what if, after the bandits attacked his home, he gained a vendetta against those who have strong wishes; it would start with those who have wishes to hurt others, like how Emery explained in the video, then, as time passes and he realizes that even "good" wishes can be obtained/granted in corrupt ways that hurt people and thus turn against the idea of wishes as a whole. After, he would likely turn to dark magic, so he could be powerful enough to consume all wishes and ensure that no one can be hurt by their own (or others') desires ever again. He would create his kingdom with the idea that it would be a place without want (free food & housing), but also free of goals and wishes and curiosity at the world, and thus the spark of humanity. This, then would be Asha's introduction, where she lives in a dystopic world where no one has any ambitions, and everyone is dull and unable to work in their own power for their dreams. They have little to no motivation for anything, and there is absolutely no innovation. Magnifico's sphere of influence is like a portal back in time as compared to other territories which are much more happy and technologically advanced. Asha sees this as a problem, and one night, while reminiscing about starwatching in the tree with her dad, she decides to make a wish for a better future (as she is still a child, and hadn't decided on a life-defining wish yet -- only after a wish is formed can Magnifico take it away), where everyone has the freedom to work for their wishes and achieve them of their own volition. A star comes down from the sky (his original design, not the marketable plushie one, because I genuinely feel like we were gyped) and decides to help her, as he has seen what a terrible state the lack of dreaming has left on the Kingdom of Rosas. And then Asha and Star can work together to overthrow the king and return the people's wishes to their rightful owners! Maybe they can even create a police force to ensure people's bad wishes don't get out of hand. (this is more up for debate, how would you prevent negative wishes? I genuinely don't want the solution to be more manipulation/removal of free will, so there's gotta be some middle ground or something that would actually work without that) Sorry this got to be so long lol. If you read it all, thanks :3

The issue was that he lied about anyone's dreams coming true at all. And his only motive, as stated by him, was to be the most powerful and that no one should rival him. All dreams shouldn't come true. But no ones except for his dreams coming true was the issue. He did good works, for himself, that happened to benefit people...which he also gained power from. He also said if he would have known taken everyone's wishes for himself gave him incredible power. he wouldn't have even bothered storing them, he would have just taken everything for himself.

The fact she wanted EVERYONE’S wish granted shows she hasn’t been around long enough to know how many awful people there are in the world. Jack Horner is a fine example why so few people should have a wish granted and for good reason.

Not really. A voluntary exchange can still be coercive or unjust. An employer can be out of line for their workplace policies even if the employees chose to work there. Literally the entire thing could have been solved if he gave back wishes that he didn't like, that's all he had to do. The movie wasn't great, but everyone acting like "the villain had a point" are just being contrarian for the sake of it.

Hes right but not entirely the guy was overly paranoid, but for good reason the story shouldn't have protrayed him as unredeemable, it should have had asha show him he doesn't have to be so strict, and have him come to his senses.

I think the creators of this film just passed up every opportunity to make it good, thinking that it'd increase the quality if everything just went to utter shit. It was created purely for money and attention and it shows. I love when characters are morally grey with complex motivations, but Wish just went the completely wrong way with that. They made the main character a complete idiot and portrayed the guy with common sense as a villain. It's just bad on so many levels. He's not evil for not giving everyone what they want.
