Bomber does take a lot of flicking around and fast movement. I picked it up because the way Bomber manipulates its momentum felt natural to me personally. I think even if Bomber doesn't fit your strengths as a player right now, you'll find that slowly changing as you spend more time with it. I think you should just try improving at the classes you enjoy.

Thanks for all the well wishes. Being vulnerable on this platform is an idea I've been wrestling with for a while. I think the most expressive art comes from chasing fulfillment of that need to express oneself, and I can't do that if I'm afraid to put all of me out there. I think my fear is largely rooted in the difficulty I face when dealing with hateful comments - but honestly, all the hate comments I received here and on past voiced videos are so vapid and skin-deep compared to the supportive ones in this specific comment section. It's almost as if the people who have something rude to say just didn't engage with the video enough to say... well anything at all, really - as if they just refused to think critically about the video and their own feelings. You could get a list of generic insults from CZcams comments and pepper them in this comment section and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. By comparison, reading the supportive comments has almost been more troubling, as I've been served so many fragments of raw humanity, evoked via this video, from dozens of people, most of whom I personally know. The sheer amount of vicariously-lived human emotion and experience I took in over the course of the first two or three days became deeply overwhelming, to the point where I had to just bury the video away from my life for a while, and continue not talking to anyone in the community much - but I think this experience was a good thing altogether. Comments like yours and everyone else's have shown me just how important it is to let myself be vulnerable in what I make, for the sake of the people who do wish to be honest with the tender humanity lying beneath the actions we take and the facades we uphold. My American connection while playing against your Aussie Juggernaut really made jugg feel like a ranged class. It was a lot of fun complaining about that. As for me leaving, I might not be gone quite yet. The memories at least still have a grip on my mind. I am trying to move on, but it's never so simple. Getting THE Drangon to want to comment on a video enough to actually do it, I think this means I've peaked as a persuasive speaker. I think my praises of you go without saying, but you've always been a crucial part of my image of Critical Strike - particularly in the Criticality era and beyond. I had few players left to look up to at when I met you, and yet somehow you felt like your skill was eternal - an unstoppable force no matter how much I train. I treasure that. On defending Winterissm, well, I don't want to pretend he's a good person. He isn't. I find him despicable in some of the things he's done. I should have hammered that home harder in the video because honestly going easy on him was distasteful and naive of me. I still wish to observe and empathize with his softer, unguarded side because I just think it's foolish to refuse to understand what makes people tick. Thank you for mentioning my music. You're the first one so far. I'm honored to have babby's first tracks listened to by a legend such as yourself. I casually play piano just about every day, so there's a lot I've learned that will show if I get back into music production. The current dev team is anti-custom skins. Custom skins these days are earned by creating it yourself and then pressuring ExplosivesGuy2 into adding it into the game like MrMiksor did. Does Explosives even know you? Not to own him epic style but he's clearly very out-of-touch with a lot of things relating to Critical Strike, from design sensibilities, to the community. I don't think you'd get the pull you deserve. It may be time to put the custom skin pipe dream to rest. My condolences. Anyways at risk of sounding like a mindless Drangon fanatic, I'm just really glad to have read a comment from you. Thank you for every part of you that you've given to me and the rest of the community. It's the interesting people like you who make the community feel deep and full of flavor.

I’m glad to know someone looked up to me, even though I was just a deranged gladiator die hard fan. Of course I have to mention the music it’s really good. Maybe one day I will return to beating up players in critical strike, this time with great newfound music to listen to. Me getting a custom skin is just a long running joke at this point, it’s been like 3 years of me saying I deserve one. The chances of me getting a custom skin are way to low. Lessened of course by the fact Explosives actually has zero clue who I am. Then again I don’t really want a custom skin anymore, I’ve used Lu Bu skin for so long its just been a part of me now. Personal thanks to the script kiddie who gave me fortune tokens back in 5.7.5. I could always use more mindless Drangon fanatics. It's been a few years since I've heard someone praise my music like that. It's a nice feeling. EpicCritical's Critical Strike that you and I know may be a dying art, but I think we both learned a lot here that will inform the things we seek in the future. I hope you can make meaning in future communities in the way you did here. As I'm sure you understand intuitively right now, it's the people around us who give value to our actions. Now that I think about it, a lot of the experiences that you talked about in this video were weirdly similar to my own personal experiences with a different game and community I had spent countless hours playing and engaging with, as well as the negative experiences which definitely played a role into the person I am now, for better or for worse. Relationships can be VERY messy, and I've found myself with people who turned out to have the least of good intentions when it came to relationships, and I of course had my own deeply rooted issues (primarily having to do with people-pleasing and self-shame) that I had to reflect on (which inadvertently led me to discover my own queerness, LOL). I again can't thank you enough for talking about your experiences like this, because these are things that people like us connect with on such a deep level. ♥

I think you and I are of a similar fiber, except with different hobbies. You're kind of on the other end of that honest self-discovery, while many hurting people haven't overcome that hurdle. If you can express that part of you, there are people in the world who need to hear it. In CS specifically, queer strikers are obviously a minority, but they tend to stay quiet due to the phobia spread around the community. When it comes to giving these suppressed voices a chance to feel heard, it's up to people with our experiences who have something they want to share. I'm not saying make a video NOW, but just, keep it in mind with your natural self-expression. Even with all our similarities, our lives still took very different shapes. Your voice is needed.

God, like, most of my enjoyment of current Musketeer comes from this repressed resentment of the CS community matched with this decadent, sadistic joy of one-shotting people. The current state of the game is increasing my Dark Triad score every time I play.

About the exploiters on the dev team - the only reason the game got a continuation is because two exploiters, winterissm and jcm, used their experience with exploits to rip as much of the game's code as they could and recreate the game. Under that light, the Criticality project as a whole couldn't exist at all without these exploiters having started it. The "they" you refer to ARE exploiters; they had the project in the palms of their hands from the start.

You seem to really get it. I love video essays. I've watched a lot of them, and grown to understand what I like and don't like. The only reason someone like me can use all these big words is because of the essayists who have influenced me over the past few years. The topic doesn't matter too much to me; it's that human aspect, that passion, that always captivates me.

All of life is experienced in the mind, and my mind was especially vulnerable to this type of behavior. We don't really get to decide what affects us or what doesn't affect us, despite what toxic masculinity gurus want you to believe.

A chilling account of times faded. I couldn't keep up in real life either. It's that stress that left me incapacitated to the point of not being able to finish school. I was very fortunate to have somebody in my life who eventually needed help that only I could give. Things could have gone a lot worse for me. Thank you for sharing part of yourself here. Social pressure is a heavy force, especially when we're young and impressionable. I hope you can find a conclusion worth being proud of.

He did, and the fact that you refuse to understand another human being's inner workings is going to just get all the troubled people you encounter to attack you the moment you do the wrong thing. Your willful ignorance will be your downfall if you step on the wrong toes. We are all human.

I want to make it clear that I despise a lot of the things Winter has done. It's just that fighting hate with hate is just going to make us all bitter, angry, and hurt. You embody this eternal arms race of toxicity that the Critical Strike community has made its main flavor. You are right in your words, and yet, you are the platonic ideal for the things I despise about this community. I beg that you find it within yourself to do better.

I tried to convey the most human parts of my experiences to cast a wide net. My set of experiences is unique to myself, but the feelings I've experienced are universal to humankind. I'm glad you were able to relate. Relating to other people has always helped me feel more human.

I can understand where you're coming from. Critical Strike My Beloved for me is just the fun and meaningful memories I made along the way. Nowadays I keep my distance because I don't really vibe with the increasing complexity of classes, and usually just get upset at the direction the game is heading. That's not to say there isn't fun to be had.

I was going to avoid the comments because I talked a lot about vulnerable aspects of myself. However, a close friend who watched the video told me the comments were really supportive, which surprised me. I'm sure there's a bad egg here or there, but it wouldn't be Critical Strike without them. Talking about this stuff is helping me open my mind a bit more to the truths I keep hiding from. That can be scary. The difference now is that I have plenty of support in my personal life, and in the community. I got to express the real me, as raw and real as realness gets, and people accept that. It's very gratifying.

Finding someone in yourself worth being is extremely difficult when surrounded by such a noisy and intense world. I spent so much time alone in search of myself. I honestly had a phase where I watched a lot of videos on stoic philosophy because my experienced anxiety and other negative emotions were too hard to cope with. I'm no paragon of stoicism, but a lot of those lessons did help me understand how to cope with the natural ways of the world. Hearing that you have issues with dysphoria is something I wasn't expecting from you. I think a lot of people like you have these feelings that just didn't get a chance to be honestly expressed out loud until something came by and brought them out. I want you to know that whoever you end up becoming, it's important that you're honest with the feelings within you; problems cannot be solved if we willfully embrace ignorance. Life circumstances can hold you back, but I trust that you will continue to find meaning in the life you life.

You're at the top of my CZcams rivals list, if I do feel the need to step back into the ring, so to speak.

I've met a small handful of transgender people in the CS community. I know some people felt very strongly in favor of the transphobia video, including many friends of mine. Despite how I felt from the hateful comments I fixated on, I wasn't just shouting into the air for people to listen and move on; the CS Discord then announced that they'd take moderation more seriously, and awareness of these issues was spread. I felt like the video had served its purpose when I chose to delete it a month or two after the fact. I want you to do your vocal training to the extent that means something to you personally. There are transfem CZcamsrs like Melody Nosurname who openly admit to just not having the time or interest for voice training, yet still find acceptance in their community. I think this need for our voices and appearance to conform to an unfair standard has roots in the self-rejection and self-hatred that we've had baked into us by the people and culture that raised us. I don't want you to do this or that because you feel an obligation to. I want you to understand the forces that motivate you, understand the roots of your ideals, and spend your time and energy on the things in life that personally mean something to you. You may feel the weight of these unfair standards we have placed upon us just as I do, but I won't allow any chance that you think you may be exempt from setting your own goals in life and pursuing them to whatever extent you please. We may be under the same flag, but whether it has or hasn't clicked for you yet, it is you who have and will continue to create your own meaning in life. I want you to live a full and meaningful life, with all the highs and lows it entails, because you chose to live it in a way that means something to you.

Right, I had a conversation with you about Vegas Pro 18 right? Yeah I used the free version of DaVinci Resolve for this video. I want to record future videos in 4k and use the OBS-native video format of .mkv files so I don't have as much chance for distorted/corrupted files. Vegas doesn't support .mkv and file compatibility even breaks when I record multiple audio tracks in a fragmented .mp4 file. DaVinci just works. Right, I did enjoy the work you put into your videos too. I think you know how to make things look flashy, and your visual edits have plenty of respect for the accompanying music. You know what you're doing in the editor. I hope things are going well with your channel. As I progressed from making one video to the next, I took a more relaxed, minimalist style with editing. People like MrMiksor and confirmed oldhead 2ndrew even make animations and stuff for their videos, but that's not my calling. I want to convey ideas that mean something to me, and convey my feelings to the viewer. For me, flashiness can often shine too brightly for me to focus on the message of the video very clearly. I guess my point is that the feeling, the messaging, the soul of the video is always what I look at. If you ever want to improve even further in my eyes, then I want videos that just might make me feel something in my core; joy, sadness, love, hype, anything that you want to convey. That's the kind of art I want to see on this website.
