I'd guess the hot vs cold pan issue depends on the pan. Stainless or cast iron, hot pan then break up the hamburger. Non stick pan, doesn't matter, cold pan is fine and heat as you go. My 2 cents worth. I'm gonna go make my burger gravy now, in a preheated pan. Peace!
Made the sauce (to go with ready made meat balls) tonight. Only difference was I sauted onions and mushrooms first and added them back in when I added the meat balls into the sauce. Added to some chips and cranberry jelly (didn’t have any lingonberry). Was bloody delicious. Thanks!

I'll definitely try this sauce. Will not use sugar though. I never "sweeten" any sauce I make. I know, it's to counteract the acidity. We like the acidity of the tomatoes. Anyway, I don't have an Instant Pot so I'll make it the old-fashioned way but I love the ingredients, particularly for pizza. I love all of your sauces and gravies!
