As far as I an tell she said that because she wanted white people to feel empathy for blacks, the story is a tragedy after all. However she's under the delusion that when white people get pulled over by police it's all roses and sunshine. Even as a white guy I know not to get out of the car unless asked. There's vid of a female cop putting 6 rounds into a guy laying flat on his stomach. At no point was the officer under an sort of threat but white guy still ended up dead. There's roughly 18,000 police depts in the USA and roughly 750,000 cops. That means there's over 1,000,000 police interactions with the public. If 0.05% of the shootings/arrests were bad there would be 5,000 bad shootings PER DAY. That's not happening. In other words we're being propagandized, intentional or unintentionally, because the media is focusing on the rare exceptions vs the norm.

I saw T.H.U.G. (after reading the book) with my queer Jewish friend and her white partner. I cried through certain parts and not just main plot point. The actress's comments were dumb and immature. I know 100% that the media (and disney) try to create issues that arent there. Thats their ignorance. Every race has struggles and its ok to write a book or movie about it. Social media is worse than any book/movie imo. I work with mostly white coworkers (im a nurse) and we have fun but ive also had to deal with a lot of crap from all races as a nurse. I cant forget my past experiences but i can opt to move past them.

I’m not saying that there are no racist white people, but we are constantly getting the brunt of that accusations when I know from personal experience that different minorities HATE each other. I’ve witnessed it firsthand with friends and relations, when one sees the other it’s time to switch to the native language and say “watch out for them, they can’t be trusted”

A possible fix for the story is this, have the whole thing be similar to a Genjutsu from naruto, so when she did the whole spell thing, it was like that whole life cycle was all within like one second, and the old lady was just a petty fae that wanted revenge. Or something to that degree, so at least now the episode has some impact to the characters moving forward instead of it being this

Thank you for saying this. ill tell you i am beyond sick of my skin tone, and the constant goings on involving sexuality be all that is going on with some elements of media. and of course, they then recoil in horror and scream it's because of -ists that the show fails. it's what they always do. they use X or Y thing as a defense measure for how lazy and often bad their work is. no. lets make it clear. they are either dumb enough to be high on their own supply, or they are intentionally malicious. and i think it's column A and B. Companies would love people to be so easy to make products for on some levels of overall management, so i think at least some out there are trying to saturate the media to the point the upcoming generations and unaware just think this basic a reason to buy a product is normal. slap a certain flag in or put something dark in there- boom, sold product. at the same time, they know it's causing trouble for the groups (I don't like the word "community") used as a battering ram by these groups. And i think they are fine with that. they are fine with them becoming the icons of mediocrity by association to this constant low quality stuff. they want people to be annoyed, and wary of them, because it keeps certain special interests groups employed and they are getting kickbacks by certain groups and edicts from the top to do so. can't as easily justify the money to fight -phobes and -ists if there isn't a perceived supply, right?
