Thank you for giving us updates on our 9.9 suskuki engine! I bought the computer scanner! But in your vidio it says engine must be running !! Mine won't start? Any ideas? I did not see what the red light flashes were when he reset the red lanyard switch? Any help how to get it started?

I am working on this same motor and problem right now. When I opened up the shaft the pin was disconnected from the dog clutch. There is a smaller pin as well. Does this go behind the larger pin in the shaft? I cannot locate where it goes exactly.

What # of ECM did you use ? I purchased the spark arrester and seal, but not sure which ECM to purchase.

Hey, I saw in your 9.9hp-20hp conversion you used the 89L20 ecm which is the manual start chip even though yours is electric start, has that ever given you a problem?

I believe the same exact thing has happened to my motor. I have the same motor as well. I also did the 20 hp conversion.

Some of the actuation functions require that the engine not be running. How do you get power to the ecm if the motor is not running?

why not just get the 20 and if you want half " 9.9 "use half the throttle

I just got the same motor and when I rev mine up in neutral it sputters and some rev fully any thoughts

I drained the oil from the Suzuki DF15 after about 10 hours. I left it in the bottle and after a few days a white precipitate formed from the oil at the bottom, a lot of it. What could it be and what cause could it be? New engine, only 10 hours old I also see that at high speeds, white smoke comes out of this nozzle near the cooling water nozzle

we have a similar setup. converted 9.9 to 20 hp suzuki. 12ft saturn hd fishing inflatable. 2024 models. on a smooth lagoon with the original 9 pitch prop, i could only get 19mph. i spun the sola 10 pitch and am wondering if i could get more speed with it? or, is 19 the max i can get with 2 men [400 lbs]. any suggestions how high or low to mount the motor. i put a 1" block to raise the motor. i ran with and without the block and it made no difference. i ran with hydrofoil and without, no difference. just would like to get 25mph if possible. trim position 1 was the best results. with position 2 and 3 i hit the rev limiter. thoughts? and thanks for your vids! in the vid you typed the 9 pitch stock prop was 24mph. you also said the 10 pitch got 26 mph. an increase from 18mph. what setup was the 18mph result?

Love your videos! They are a big part of the reason as to why i purchased my very own Suzuki 9.9 4 months ago. I just hit 20 hours on it. I purchased a tac/hour meter because of one of your other videos. I was wondering if you seen much results with the process of drilling out the restrictor plate? Is it worth it? Did you have any trouble with it before you upgraded to the 20hp? I don’t quite have the money for the 20 h.p grade yet.

The 321cc 9.9 is at the price of the 20 +/- 50$, with small boat, better buy the 20 AND the restriction plate to have it limited to 10 hp for 11ft boats and then have all power with a bigger hull. Plus, gas shock loaded flaps at the transom are better that those hydrofoils as they don't rob top speed.

@LaingEj Some claims of this works fine without the ECU change, have you tried with original ECU and if not, can you do it to confirm? It is suppose to add for the increased air volume anyway..?

Hi! Can you please tell us how big the difference is when using the 9.9 ECU VS the 20hp ECU? Is It only the rmp that is higher, or do you feel the extra power all the Way?

The reason for buying the same motor but with a lower HP rating , then upgrading to higher power with easy simple component changes like this vid is labeling. Nobody, without taking the motor apart would know it's a 20 instead of a 9.9. Now he has a 20 on his boat rated for 9.9 and pays cheaper insurance

Barefoot? You’re one tough hombre. I have a 20hp Tohatsu on a14 foot Bris with an aluminum floor and I only get about 21mph at max rpm. I guess on the bright side I didn’t lose my fish finder. Nice video.

I would stop using the stabilizer, and just use good quality fuel to run it. Then in the fall drain the gas and run it with engineered fuel before storage.
