Hi, @halwardi9933. There’s a separate customs check for items that you’ll put in your check-in bags and there’s another for those in your hand-carry. You’ll see it in our video. So for your perfumes, you show it to the customs officer after checking in at your airline counter, and then you drop off your bag at a designated area. You can see those areas in our video. Hi, @tarasharma7167. That’s the expectation - consumption/use must be outside the EU. However, I don’t think customs would know if you used your bag or purse, for example. Just keep the tags. In several occasions, we bought luggages and used them already to pack our stuff and there was no issue with customs. If the light goes red, sometimes the customs officer asks you to show the goods but in most cases no. Based on our experience, if you buy big ticket items like watches, that’s the time they ask you to show them your purchase. Other than that, they just ask for your form. For customs rules in your home country, technically you should declare the goods you are bringing into your country. There is a certain exemption threshold and once you go beyond that amount, you have to pay customs taxes. But all these will depend on how your country implements these rules. For the Philippines, they do random checks, so you pray that you won’t be singled out so you won’t have issues. We hope these help. Appreciate a follow so we can create more travel related content. Hi, @stephaniele2822. You mean you scanned the form and the screen turned red? Or was it green but it just doesn’t show in the Global Blue app? Did you receive an email when you made the purchase? Hopefully you kept the form so you can use it when you email Global Blue if there is an issue.

Yes, we bought tickets online. For bus tickets, we bought it at the bus station. Schedules are at the station, too.

So we end up receiving around 11% on the average of the purchase price. We receive a little less in cash than when we choose card as refund method. Hope this helps! Yes, you mail in forms from all EU countries at the port of exit from EU. Global Blue refund took a little less than a week. For the other companies took them at least a month. Happy safe travels!

Oh that is super fast, I contacted Global blue cs and they are saying the mail may take 8 weeks to receive and 3-5 weeks to process (italy form mailed at spain airport). Finger crossed mine is fast too 🙏🏻

I bought from a standalone shoe store in Paris, I have a notification on my Global Blue account stating that all my necessary steps are complete yet still no refund after 5 weeks. I am back in the EU now and leaving again on Friday I will quiz them at the airport. @@ERC_Channel

Hi@@ERC_Channel . So just an update. I scanned 3-4 of the bills, and the machine kept quitting on me. I went to the Customs desk AFTER checking in my luggage and clearing security. They patiently scanned each form and gave me USD in cash. About 4-5 of the forms were not scanned, so I am assuming those were the ones that I did not run through the machines. All in all a smooth process. Thank you for this video 🙂

For items in your hand carry, there is a customs office after security. You can have your form stamped there and get refund at kiosks of the refund companies also after security. Hi, @mohammedakmal497. We’re not familiar with the tax regime in Moldova but as a general rule, there’s tax when you bring into a country goods purchased from abroad. However, there are also threshold exemptions that’s why most of these goods are not declared and taxed. I suggest you research or ask about Moldovan taxation. It’s okay if you pay in cash. You can receive tax refund in cash as well. Regardless of taxation in Moldova, we suggest you process refund for your purchase upon exiting the EU. Hope this helps!
