Its a song of great passionate longing for the renewal of a Jewish sovereignty in the land of Israel and a beautiful, joyful, sovereign Jerusalem (Yefei Nof, Mesos Tevel, Kiriya Le-melech Rav). Its a longing for spiritual fulfillment that can not be attained in exile.
