Here in Annapolis, we’re accustomed to fighter jets roaring overhead at low altitude, so I doubt much of anyone had a second thought of the Sept. 2000, fly-by over Navy Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. The Blue Angels just made their yearly visit with two days of acrobatics and of course that’s much more dramatic than mere fly-bys. They do a few maneuvers at high speed and last week one flew right over me standing in my back yard. It’s hard to fathom how fast and loud they can be. Very cool! I was a photojournalist and covered many Navy games and graduations from 1986 until 2004, all of which had fly-bys. I don’t recall if I was at that game.

In 1966 they offered my grandpa a spot onboard B52s, he worked on them mechanic wise as they didn't have spots open for the position he wanted when he joined, so when he signed up the second time they had one offered and he basically said F no I don't wanna get killed by some A hole in Washington giving orders they don't comprehend, and dammit he was 100% right he could've been killed over Vietnam due to the ignorant decisions of Washington, he was a damn smart man with common sense after seeing how it all worked first hand he turned it down smartly lol (he worked on the delicate ECM equipment so he was not an oil changer lol)

USAF veteran here, the Navy is weird... I dont remember if it was a security briefing or just my enlistment papers, but I swore/promised not to talk about my service, what I did or where, and who I saw, what I saw... ALL of those are security breaches. Example, there was a guy on FOX news that 'claims' he is the Navy Seal that shot, killed Osama Bin Laden... IF that is true, he just put himself, his friends and family in extreme danger.... Loose lips sink ships...

Ukraine doesn't have to win the war. Russia has to lose it. There is a real financial burden on Russia to wage this war. If Ukraine can hang in there long enough the seams will break and Putin will be deposed. It won't be the first time Russia collapsed fighting a war. Remember Afghanistan? The question is, is it wise to allow Russia to fall apart?

I did aircraft maintenance most of my adult life and I don't understand why so many times in these accident investigations they find ground maintenance forcing stuff. Come on guys if it isn't easy something is wrong don't force it fix it. These pilots are skilled and i am so glad they survived this incident some awesome airmanship while injured. Amazing pilot, The guys on my end of this, pay attention, don't force it fix it. It not only can cost an aircrew their life but yours too when they crash and skid across the deck. Don't force it fix it. I can't say that enough. Pay attention to details or someone else pays the price !!!!
