Some of these plants are not alocasias. The first plant is a colocasia - I've had that variety for over 10 years now. They are closely related colocasias as a rule of thumb get much larger than alocasias and much more cold hardy. I can grow colocasias outside in coastal California throughout the year including Winter, but not alocasias. I also grow some of my colocasia in my pond. The ones in the pond grow a lot larger than the ones I have growing in ponds outside my home. They really love their roots being submerged in water since they evolved in swamps.

Having the same issue have a decent plant collection and ran out of space inside the house that has proper light. Now they're outside in a closed off porch and one of the opposite sides of the house that has an entrance and slowly have been putting them out there to get them a little bit larger so that I can bring them inside the house and make room for them since they struggle young. My logical is to age them whether they're more settled in, than then put them in a proper pot. Lately I've been experimenting with combining two types of plants that can grow together well in one pot.

i really enjoyed this video thank you! alocasia are my favorite and i use the same fluval/pon mix and it’s amazing for them. my other plants love it too (philo,homalomena, anthuriums, hoyas and monstera. yucatan princess variegated is fast at producing corms for me too. serendipity pink produces corms the most in fluval/pon and or tree fern but slow at pushing them out.

Omgosh that white monster Rhaphs internodal spacing is 🤯 holy carp that’s cool, the chiapense though scares me, I don’t have enough humidity for that much variegation, she’s gorgeous Omgosh the last one, (don’t wanna ruin the surprise by saying what!) never even heard of a variegated version

How about growing Spiritus Sancti in sphagnum moss? I grow mine in moss, do you think it's worth it to change to pon? Thanks!

😣😣 oh no it was painful watching you trim those roots!! It’s unnecessarily traumatic on the plant and creates potential for root rot and infection. It’s usually best to disturb the roots as little as possible when repotting….BUT that plant is so beautiful, you’re clearly keeping it happy!

I suggest a Philodendron Orange Princess for sure. I got my starter plant (not from them though) and I have it growing out in the green house. It will be a popular plant.
