    Good episode gents. Enjoyed the off season outlook. Definitely agree with Ty's point about Chychrun as a potential growth inhibitor to Lohrei's offensive game. I personally don't want to see Chychrun here, too injury prone, never played in a market with winning expectations, and the $4.6m cap hit.

    I wouldn't give Swayman anymore than 7 for 7 years. Then you have to move Ullmark's 5 mil for a pick. So you essentially only use 2 mil of the 21 mil of the cap space on Swayman. That leaves you a ton to get a center and 1 or 2 top 6 wingers. My wishlist would be Stephenson at 6 mil per, Guentzel at 7 to 8 mil per and Brenden Dillon at at 2.5 mil. That leaves the team with 3 mil while upgrading 3 areas of need.

They may spend to the cap but HOW ABOUT FIXIONG THE DAMN ICE AT TD GARDEN. The answer "Well we added hundreds of new NARROWER seats to make more money and people keep spending their $$$ so why should we fix the ice?" Why? Because it's the #1 RIGHT thing that you need to do and then BUILD THIS TEAM OUT TOUGHER AND FASTER.

    I'd attempt keeping Heinen and Maroon. They are both good 3rd /4th line guys. Heinen is a good fit for Coyle if we can get Charlie back to 3rd center. I feel hes better off there. I'd like to see Ully dealt for Chychrun and a first. Make a go at Bertuzzi for sure. Necas would be epic Center if we could do it. But lindholm is more likely. Which I don't hate. Ad long ad Poitrss and Lorieri are not apart of a trade I'd be happy. I think Poitras had alot of potential to be that Bergy type Hybrid Center. Also Beecher was excellent too. Not sure if he's reached his ceiling or not. I'd be willing to trade Lysell if they had to send a prospect to get what they need. Some team is probably going to regret signing Reinhart to a high-AAV extension. From 2018-2023, Reinhart scored 0.35 Goals per game, with a 15.0% shooting percentage. This season, his Goals per game suddenly doubled, to 0.70, in part due to an inflated and unsustainable 24.5% shooting percentage. Reinhart is a very good player. He’s durable, reliable, and skilled. The free agency price is going to be way too high, though. There are lots of recent examples of NHL forwards having one huge season, around age 28/29, and then falling off dramatically after that: Gaudreau, Huberdeau, Atkinson, Hoffman…

  • @christopherfabyan1829

    This team has said theyre all in so I'm giving my opinion on whqt they should do, step number one in my opinion is the Ullmark trade, if im Don Sweeney im on the phone with Ottawa packaging Ullmark and another player and asking for Claude Giroux, hes still a point per game player and would obviously fill a huge hole at center, Ullmarks and Girouxs salaries are almost the same (Giroux makes 6.5 and Ullmark makes 5) so if you add another player you wouldnt lose any cap space so we'd still have around 21-23 million to go into free agency with Step two is gonna be the Swayman contract and i believe they'll get it done, from what ive read he'll command anything from 6-7.5 million per and i think hes worth every penny so lets say hes gets 7 million per thatll leave us with around 14-15 million in cap space Step three is I'd let Jake Debrusk walk, hes a good player but he's not worth a 5yr 30 million or 6yr 36 million dollar deal not when this team has glaring needs at center and can honestly find a player like Toffoli in free agency who can provide the same type of scoring for a couple million less Step four is signing Elias Lindholm to be your 1C, his game is perfect for what this team needs hed be perfect centering a line with Marchy and Zacha and itd allow Coyle to move down to be your 3C (assuming they get Giroux like I said) and id imagine Lindholm would demand between 7-8 million per so itd leave us with around 6-7 million left Step five is fill out your bottom six and add depth d-men, maybe bring back guys like Maroon and JVR on the cheap but if they say theyre all in they gotta be all in amd cant half ass anything

    • @kencollins4737
      @kencollins4737 Před 2 dny

      I like some of what you’re saying but I’d want a better return for Ullmark. He’s a number goalie with a Vezina on his resume. Giroux is 36 with a year left at 6.5 million, if Ottawa is looking to dumb salary he can be had for next to nothing. Also I wouldn’t touch Maroon or JVR, older players might give you some good hockey throughout a season but come playoffs they have usually fall off and have nothing left in the tank. There are exceptions of course but usually only former star players can play effectively after 35 years of age.

    • @tylerreigle6462
      @tylerreigle6462 Před dnem

      @@kencollins4737 i definitely think there would be a draft pick coming with Giroux at least i would assume so, and listen I'd like to get guys 26-27 in their prime but your not gonna find that out there and as we know the Bruins can be extremely cheap so if we have to settle for someone like Giroux even at 36 I'd take him to center our second line, idk who else is out there honestly that we could trade Ullmark for, and I'm not banking on next off-season either because I think most of the big names that are set to be free agents are gonna be signed before next summer (Draisitl, Crosby, Marner just to name a few)

  • @SomeOne-uy4kj
    @SomeOne-uy4kj Před 3 dny

    Ideally, the guys who made the team in '24 (and went up and down) will come back to camp in phenomenal shape. And that includes Poitras. (He needs to get stronger without losing speed and agility.) And then, maybe some guys from Providence will make the leap, as well. Otherwise, they'll be sorting the bottom 6, after spending. The Ullmark "trade" scenario is huge. Consider that's like adding a player or two without touching the cap. And there's the goalie situation. How high is Swayman going? What's left? All this, and I didn't really get into spending on FAs. A tough winger who gets 20g and plays well without the puck is an improvement over Jake. Methinks, they'll go past that...we'll see. There's enough for a good player or two, pending on the deals. Regardless, the B's have much better options than they did last year. 🤔

      All of you need to realize that Ullmark has no trade clauses to a lot of teams . The Bruins can't just trade him to anyone. The team would have to have someone we need. That's a hard limit.

    A team can’t have $20+M invested in just two wingers when the roster lacks so much at the center position.

    I've been saying since 2018 that this team should rebuild and I still believe they should but they're obviously not so you'd expect with about 23 million in cap space they'd be all in on a top free agent but Sweeney has already said he's not gonna pursue Stamkos, Reinhart or Guentzel and if your not gonna shell out money for those 3 then they probably aren't gonna go after Lindholm either so wtf are tbey doing?

    Don’t really understand why everyone thinks Lindholm is the guy… he quite literally had an identical year to both Coyle and Zacha (better playoff forsure). He’s a great player but don’t really think he changes much…

    Yes the team was heavy but not gritty especially on defense where you need a couple real nasty players like Zadorov or Gudas

    As much as the pieces matter, the culture of this team needs to change. Instead of tears after being eliminated I needed to see anger. The players always seem sad, but we never hear anger. I'm sick of hugs and tears, find some men for this roster.
