अपने प्राथमिक चिकित्सा उपकरणों, दवाइयों और अन्य चीजों को बच्चों की पहुंच से दूर रखें। किसी पीड़ित की मदद से पहले खुद को सुरक्षित बना लें। दृश्य का अनुमान करें और संभावित खतरों का आकलन कर लें। जहां तक संभव हो, दस्तानों का उपयोग करें ताकि खून तथा शरीर से निकलनेवाले अन्य द्रव्य से आप बच सकें। जब तक आवश्यक न हो हमें घायल व्यक्ति को नहीं हिलाना चाहिए । हमें सीधे चोट वाली जगह को नहीं छूना चाहिए। हमें हमेशा साफ पट्टियों का उपयोग करना चाहिए और चोट के अंदर कुछ भी नहीं डालना चाहिए। हमें प्राथमिक उपचार करने से पहले यह सुनिश्चित करना होगा कि हमारे हाथ साफ हैं। चिन्ह, लक्षण या वृत्तांत, अर्थात् घायल के शरीरगत चिन्ह, जैसे सूजन, कुरूपता, रक्तसंचय इतयादि प्राथमिक उपचारक को अपनी ज्ञानेंद्रियों से पहचानना तथा लक्षण, जैसे पीड़ा, जड़ता, घुमरी, प्यास इत्यादि, पर ध्यान देना चाहिए। यदि घायल व्यक्ति होश में हो तो रोग का और वृत्तांत उससे, या आसपास के लोगों से, पूछना चाहिए।
The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that about 5 million snakebites occur each year, resulting in up to 2.7 million envenomings. Published reports suggest that between 81,000 and 138,000 deaths occur each year. Snakebite envenoming causes as many as 400,000 amputations and other permanent disabilities. Many snakebites go unreported, often because victims seek treatment from non-medical sources or do not have access to health care. As a result it is believed that many cases of snakebite go unreported.
Snake antivenoms are effective treatments to prevent or reverse most of the harmful effects of snakebite envenoming. They are included in the WHO Essential Medicines List and should be part of any primary health-care package where snake bites occur.
Unfortunately many people either lack access to antivenom, or cannot afford to pay for them. Many families sell possessions or go into debt in order to obtain antivenom after someone is bitten. Difficulties in ensuring proper regulation and testing of antivenoms also affect the availability of good quality, effective products.
WHO added snakebite envenoming to its priority list of neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) in June 2017. A nationally representative study( Million Death study) noted--45,900 annual snakebite deaths nationally. In India, around 90% of snakebites are caused by the 'big four' among the crawlers - common krait, Indian cobra, Russell's viper and saw scaled viper. Effective interventions involving education and antivenom provision would reduce snakebite deaths in India.
Always seek emergency medical treatment for snake bites, as they can be life-threatening. Snake bites are either venomous (if the snake has injected venom into your body) or ‘dry’ (if no venom is injected).
Snake bites may cause pain and swelling around the site of the bite, or there may be very few signs left on the skin. Symptoms that snake venom has entered your body may include dizziness, blurred vision, breathing difficulties, nausea, muscle weakness or paralysis.
Most snake bites occur when snakes are disturbed; the best way to prevent being bitten is by avoiding snakes altogether.

I don't know why people's not understand, without Gandhiji Indian's never came out from their house. Yes there were many honest leaders, like bose, sigh,patel and many more. It's easy to call it great era. But no one has thought of those who faced mass killing, genocide or exodus during that same time. Please don't call it a great and serene period for all. Forgetfulness and living in a bubble never solved the puzzle of your lost generations. Loving any form of entertainment to desolve stress & relax is okay . Yes, it is nostalgic, and I can say those few hours of relaxation during those young days were entertaining, and remembering, but was not the cure for all issues still lying around us. Because we always ignored those parts of our lives and let grow that cut to unbarrably painful wound for future, problems are much bigger and complex now! Grow up people. It's good to have some good memories, but stop calling it a great era.
At that time we didn't have much but we enjoyed every moment.
